Former Petroleum Resources Minister, Mrs. Deziani Alison-Madueke is very ill and has been hospitalized in a London hospital for an undisclosed ailment, family sources said over the weekend.

The often-reliable family sources told THEWILL that the former Minister has been hospitalized for weeks and hasn’t deliberately avoided Nigeria for fear of being probed by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

THEWILL gathered that Deziani had undergone treatment in a London hospital for an undisclosed form of cancer during her tenure as Minister.

If ministers don't award contracts, who does? Does Buhari intend to sign all federal contracts by himself or what? Is he this stupid?

You might be the stupid one without knowing . Those ministers that award contract to themselves in the names of their children and relations . In a case where the award to an outsider they see 30 or 40% after the job which leaves the contractor with very little to run the project that's where you see a road having potholes before its being commissioned . The Delta state Airport in Asaba was awarded to a man by the state government in am agreement that he's going to build a befitting hospital for him as appreciation after the contract , but the man built the hospital and didn't hand it over to the governor and it sparked trouble between them . So many instances like this are everywhere .

In as much as this is a very good alternative, I still feel they must pay the consequences of their theft for allowing Nigerians to suffer. Partially, I want PMB to forget about the probe and partially, I want him to go on with it but as far as I'm concerned, it still remains secondary. Security should be his primary assignment for now while other pressing issues follow.

If you know how the ministers and their children live flamboyant life by squandering billions on meaningless and unprofitable things at the expense of nigerians u won't even urge the president to stop the probe . Every person connected to the past government should be probed . A Nigerian citizen can't get a monthly benefit . A Nigerian citizen that's intelligent can't get a loan to see him/herself through school when there's no sponsor . But when you go to Abuja you see kids of ministers driving exquisite cars and doing car racing with cars like Ferrari . Im from the Niger Delta . But I believe a section of the country shouldn't hold the nation hostage . They did it during Jonathan's time and they were getting paid and he called it AMNESTY. In all sincere meaning when AMNESTY is being given to a criminal it means GO AND SIN NO MORE . I believe this present government is only giving AMNESTY it's true meaning by discontinuing the payment of some amount to certain groups because they've decided to drop their guns . If military personnels are being deployed to the region its just to maintain peace and take necessary action if any group should come up and disrupt peace in other tp agitate for the continuing of the payment of money to them while other Nigerians get nothing ... Niger Delta Amnesty Payments: Women Protest Youths' Expulsion From Lufthansa Flight School

Hundreds of women from the Niger Delta region staged a protest on Tuesday in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, against thirteen ex-militants youths’ dismissal from pilot school in Germany because of the federal government’s refusal to pay for their fees under its own Presidential Amnesty Programme.

The thirteen ex-militants were undergoing commercial pilot training at the Lufthansa Flight Training School in Frankfurt, but were last week sent away from the institution due to the nonpayment of their fees. Other Niger Delta ex-militants have also been sent packing by their various institutions in South Africa, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, and several more countries in Europe.

During their march to an office for ex-militant leaders called the Leadership, Peace and Cultural Development Initiative (LPCDI), the protesting women said President Muhammadu Buhari should be held responsible if there is resurgence of violence in the Niger Delta region. “We are warning Buhari that, as mothers, we are already feeling the heat and the gathering of disgruntled youths in our communities. The refusal to pay the amnesty training fees is causing problems in our homes and communities," one said.

Another of the protesting women, Ebiere Ankiomete, lamented President Mohammud Buhari’s “refusal to appoint a substantive Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Committee to liaise with the Federal Ministry of Finance to pay the amnesty training fund.” She said that delaying until September to make the appointment would have drastic consequences for amnesty beneficiaries already enrolled in approved programs abroad.

LPCDI President and former militant commander Pastor Reuben Wilson appealed for calm but called on President Muhammadu Buhari not to allow the Presidential Amnesty Programme to be starved of funds. He noted the growth of Niger Delta oil production and its substantial contribution to the nation’s coffers, all of which depended upon amnesty payments.

If someone can get distinction in nigerian And be offered a poor pay then he shouldn't expect better . Getting a degree in University of Ibadan still have more credibility here in Nigeria than some of those UK universities .

Barely one week, after he defended his choice of successor in 2007, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has pointedly accused former President Goodluck Jonathan of paying people to attack him.

Obasanjo, who also reflected on the despotic regime of the late maximum ruler, General Sani Abacha, stated that he would have been killed wrongly for the fathom coup.

Speaking on Channels Television programme, Channel Book Club last night, Obasanjo alleged that Jonathan paid people to attack him over his controversial book, “ My Watch”.

He claimed that Jonathan paid an activist from the South-West to criticise him.

While defending his book, Obasanjo said he did not have any regret on what he wrote, advising those who do not like what he said in the book to also write theirs, “so let the dialogue begin”.

On the criticism, trailing his book, Obasanjo said: “ If I have to react to all criticisms people write about me, which most of them are not true, then, I will not have time to do anything really again

He stated that what his critics, including Wole Soyinka, said did not bother him.

“Wole Soyinka and I have been having running battle. As he has said that it will not end until one of us leaves this world and I have said in this book we re talking about that If he leaves before me, when I get to Heaven and I hope he will be there, he should welcome me. But If I leave before him, I wiil welcome him.

“Wole Soyinka is a gifted man, I have always acknowledged that, but he is a bad politician or poltiical analyst and it is my own point of view, he may agree with my own point of view or disagree,” he said.
