lawflec: I think you probably have not being to Afikpo, it is a mega city and comparably, better developed than some capital cities eg Lokoja.. ONUEKE is a zone to be proud of. The city of ONUEKE boasts of massive infrastructures and quiet developed. I guess you visit there soonest. IKWO, is one of the most developed cities in the whole South East. The ex governor hails from there. The city boasts of a polytechnic, a federal university and equally a state college of education.. Ohaozara houses the creme de la creme of Ebonyi state, and guess what, there is a competition amongst them of who shall develop the areas faster. The present governor, who was also a former DG, Present minister of science and technology, ex minister of health, former secretary to government of the fedration etc. The city, is far developed that the neighbouring community of IKE EKWEREMMADU. Brother . I served in Ebonyi and lived there for a whole year and I still visit . I served in Afikpo to be precise . Is it the Afikpo that the only place you can chill is LAMAR restaurant . Is it the Afikpo that I didn't get light for up to a total of 30days all through my service ? Is it the Afikpo that only the nysc orientation camp is the major thing there . The only recent structure in Afikpo is this hotel that's close to Ndibe area, every other thing is old . I lived in Amasiri ,where the only thing there is D BASE hotel which is just facing the corpers lodge ? My school was IBII COMMUNITY SECONDARY SCHOOL that has a total of 67 students . My class ss1 has just 11 student. A place where the student prefer to farm than to be in class . You should know the strength of a place rest on the educational sector . A community that has just 2 taps , one at the school and the other close to the market . A community where the corper go to ease themselves on top of rocks or use the public toilet that's used by the whole community ? My brother I visited IKWO and Ohaozara cos my guys where posted there . Forget those names you mentioNed bro. No town in that state is half as developed as Abakaliki itself . I served last year and have visited twice this year . I was there February and March so yoh see I'm still conversant with the state. |

I spent my service year in thus town and I'd tell you categorically that you can take one ride in a tricycle from one end of the town to the other (CASS - Presco) and (Rice mill - Kpirikpiri).
Those roads that OP showed though we're very good during the tenure of Martin Elechi (Ochi-Udo). Terrible roads that existed during my stay were; 1. Rice mill road 2. Afikpo road from sperando 3. Enugu road.
NB: I served in 2012 Enugu road is okay now but Afikpo road is still bad but works are going on gradually . Served there last year but visited this year |

ujoseph006: Another blogger lashed by wizkid for reaching to him for an interview on phone
Earlier this week, wizkid had a feud with one of the top bloggers in Nigeria, and ever since then he's been all over the news.
Mr Ejump, 9jaflaver CEO, through wizkid's manager "DisturbingLDN" and other connects he had, tried, and was able to reach wizkid through phone, the whole purpose of Mr Ejump calling wizkid, was to have an online interview with him so as to relate anything he have in mind with his fans, and that can even help halt the hatred that his recent action with linda might have caused. But wizkid's reply was so annoying and provoking, he didn't really listen to Mr Ejump, rather he descended lots of insults on him, I can quote the little we can remember.
Quotes: "You and linda, might have teamed up to start another story on my head, two of you should go f*ck yourselves online"
"Stupid nigeria bloggers, tell linda that she'll definitely get the beaten of her life, and if you don't stay out of this, you'll get yours too."
And he ended the call. Is this fair, wizkid of all people.

ujoseph006: This beautiful blog reader made a teary video which averted what would have been a very bitter breakup. Her name is Onyi Anekwe,
She made the video after listening to Paul Okoye's breakup song.
Unfortunately, some other lady saw her video and pirated it. 9jaflaver tracked her down at the Law Faculty of the National Open University Awka to understand what motivated her teary appeal to the Okoye brothers, Her reaction when she saw a copy cat video and the feedback from P-Square.
See what she said after the cut:
9jaflaver: Hello Onyii, How are you doing
ONYI: I am good now.Thank you
9jaflaver :Tell us about you
ONYI: I am Onyii Anekwe, I am a 3rd year Law Student. I am an actress and a musician
9jaflaver: Was the cry video an artistic expression?
ONYI:. No, It was real. I was really hurt. Listening to Paul's new song broke whats left of my heart. I have never felt that sad my whole life.
9jaflaver :Your Video worked and the guys brothers have made up. how does that make you feel?
ONYI:Yes, I am happy. My aim was achieved. Although someone else is taking the credit now but i Care less. P-Square is back and that's all that matters. I am happy . as you can see, I aint crying anymore
9jaflaver: Yes. There is another video of another girl crying released at the same time, What really happened?
ONYI: I saw the video and i was amazed. I uploaded my video and the next day I saw another video of a girl who copied my video and hers went viral.
9jaflaver: What was your reaction to the new video.
ONYI:I was happy because I knew that my idea has motivated people to do their own videos and I know that when that happens, One may go viral and then my heroes will see it. Even though it was my brain child. I dont care about who gets the credit or who gets acknowledged. All I care about is the survival of my heroes P_Square
9jaflaver: How long have you been a P-Square fan
ONYI: Ever since the "Senorita" days. The time when they released the "Last night" album. Its been quite long, I was a kid then but my elder brother was a P_Square fan so after I heard last-night, I knew I was addicted already. I grew up dreaming of meeting them one day. I even used to call Paul my husband back then. though i decided I would make him shave his dread locks before I marry him. (LAUGHS) I love those guys
9jaflaver: What motivated you make a cry video
ONYI:I know you have siblings and I have too. I know how it hurts when you finish beefing outside and you come only to face another war. I know how it hurts. Then you can imagine twins. It was really heart breaking and I knew I had to do something. When I listened to the new song. The tears started flowing and i had to get a camera.
9jaflaver: Have you reached out to Peter since he said he wants to meet you
ONYI: Yes I did but I am yet to get a reply, I guess he was looking out for the other girl
9jaflaver: Does that make you sad?
ONYI:Yes and No!!! Yes because I have always dreamt of meeting P_Square and possibly do a song with them because I am a Rapper and then No, because they have made up and I know the role I played. what really matters most is that I will get to see another P_Square album
9jaflaver: What next for you
ONYI: I will get my Law Degree and become a P-Square official lawyer so we can set up the structure Peter always wanted.
9jaflaver: Any final advice for them?
ONYI: I just want to tell them that there is strength in differences. polarization breeds stagnation. If Peter and Paul are hot-wired identically mentally, then they would be boring. Their psychological different and parallel endowments should be a gift and I know they understand this. I want them to understand and appreciate each others efforts. Their complimentary dynamism is actually the basis of their strength and they should always remember that. There can never be a whole without both of them. They should understand that no matter what, Family should come first. That is very important. Their manager should also carry everybody along and understand that he has a larger work to do. he should find the balance that will see him be a big brother at home and a manager at work. Thank you
Source:- http://9jaflaver.com/9jaflaver-meets-the-adorable-girl-whos-tears-saved-p-square-see-photos/ I don't think someone who's hurt emotionally will have time to make video of herself while crying |

Politics › Re: The Injustice Buhari Did To The Genius Of UNILAG - Punch by Certifiedboss: 10:13pm On Mar 22, 2016 |
JennyNwa22: By Azuka Onwuka
A big opportunity came to President Muhammadu Buhari to shine some weeks ago but he let it waste. A graduate of the University of Lagos, Mr Ayodele Daniel Dada, made history by being the first graduate of the university to make the maximum cumulative grade point average (CPGA) of 5.00 point out of 5.00. Even though it was not said that he was the first graduate from any Nigerian university to make such a result, I have never heard that a graduate made such a result in any other Nigerian university.
What it meant was that Dada made an A in all the courses he took. That includes courses from other departments and faculties, which were not related to his course of study. For example, imagine an arts student who hates computations and scientific theories being made to take a subject in the natural sciences as well as computer. Many of such people would just pray to get the minimum score in those non-related but compulsory courses. Their dream will be to just pass those courses so as to be free to focus on the directly related courses that made them come to the university in the first place.
In the case of Dada, he made an A in all these courses right from his first year to his final. If he had made anything less than an A in any of his university courses, it would have dented his CGPA and he would not have made a 5.00. Reports from UNILAG indicate that when the university authorities heard of the unbelievable result, they called for his papers. After a thorough scrutiny, they found out that Dada deservedly got an A in all his courses. The CGPA was subsequently awarded to him.
However, he did not get the same opportunity in 2011 when he sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board seized his result that year “for cheating”. JAMB must have been too shocked with his result that it believed that there was no way Dada could have made such a score except by cheating. Sadly, JAMB has not come up with any mechanism to identify exceptionally brilliant candidates. Dada eventually decided to take the option of doing a diploma programme at the University of Lagos. That disappointment of having his result seized for being too brilliant could have dampened the spirit of some people and made them derail. But happily, Dada persevered in spite of his unenviable family financial status.
The announcement of Dada’s university result on February 25 was therefore a heaven-sent opportunity for Buhari to shore up his rating among the people. It was the type of opportunity many presidents would pray for but never get. The reason is simple. This is not something that happens regularly. It can never even be predicted. Having a first class is a regular occurrence in universities. Each university graduates many first class students every year. But having a graduate with 5.00 CGPA out of 5.00 is a rarity. It is said that perfection is not possible among humans, but this is something akin to perfection. So, anybody who has achieved this feat is nothing but a genius.
Why did President Buhari not celebrate this exceptional student? Was it because he did not know about it? Was it because it did not carry much weight with him? Did his media aides like Mr Femi Adesina and Mr Garba Shehu not know about it? Did the ministers of education not hear about it? What about the minister of youths and sports? Did they hear about it and briefed the President on the need to tap into and celebrate the achiever but were ignored by the President?
At a time entertainment (like music, acting, comedy, dancing, etc) is taking the attention of many youths away from education and academic excellence, celebrating the academic feat of Dada would have done a lot for education in Nigeria. Immediately the news broke, the President should have sent a letter of congratulation to Dada and then invited him to Aso Rock for a handshake. At such a meeting, the President should have used that opportunity to stress his administration’s commitment to excellence in all human endeavours, especially in academic pursuit. He should have used that opportunity to inform the nation of his belief that the youths are the hope of the nation and should be supported and encouraged to excel. Then, he should have given the young man a scholarship and whatever other incentives he could.
It was also surprising that neither the governor of his state of origin (Ekiti State) nor state of residence (Lagos) keyed into the excellent performance of Dada. It was as if it was nothing special.
Similarly, except for the few comments within the two days of the breaking of the story, most Nigerians did not see the news item as something of great importance to talk about. Compare that to last month’s story of the transformation of Mrs Jumoke Orisaguna from a bread hawker to a model. Almost every person made a comment about her in the social media and private discussions for weeks. Even columnists wrote about her. Companies and brands fell over themselves to make donations to her and her children as well as make her advertise their brands. Pastors used her to preach and pray in churches.
It says a lot about our focus and values as a nation. Even though most Nigerians want the nation to become a superpower and a super economy, the government and citizens don’t celebrate academic excellence. How can a country become one of the leading countries of the world if excellence – especially academic excellence – is not celebrated? It is for the same reason that teachers, lecturers and researchers are poorly remunerated, while creative minds and their creations are ignored. It is for the same reason that winners of entertainment contests get prizes that run into millions of naira, while winners of academic and scholarly contests get rewarded with plaques. But then one may not blame corporate organisations because they are not charities. They need to support programmes that will give them visibility and patronage. But that the government joins in not giving priority to academic excellence is not excusable.
Entertainment is good and needs to be promoted. But a country does not grow by giving all attention to entertainment to the detriment of educational excellence and scientific breakthroughs.
It may not be easy for a government to turn the economy around within a year. It may not be easy for the government to defeat the Boko Haram as promised. It may not be easy to solve the electricity supply problem within a year. But there are quick wins that a government can achieve. There are also opportunities that a government can exploit immediately they present themselves. These opportunities will always present themselves in the life of every administration. Whatever an administration makes of such opportunities depends on that administration. Sometimes even a bad situation can be quickly turned around by a government that thinks on its feet.
The tempo may have died down on the issue of Dada, but it is not too late for the government to celebrate him. It is said that it is better late than never. When excellence is rewarded and celebrated by the government, people are encouraged to seek excellence. As David W. Johnson said: “There are no speed limits on the road to excellence.”
http://www.punchng.com/the-injustice-buhari-did-to-the-genius-of-unilag/ This man only want to make it to the news . He's talking trash . Maybe the state governor would have invited him but not the president . There r other pressing issues . He did well getting that result and we know that but at this stage the result is gis personal achievement because he hasn't made an impact to the society at large . If every body that's outstanding in their field get to meet the president he won't even have times for national issues |

Romance › Re: Any Guy Who Doesn't Have A House And A Car Should Not Get Married Or Even Date! by Certifiedboss: 8:01pm On Mar 20, 2016 |
Vinshu: In order to reduce the level of poverty amongst homes, in my opinion I think a man who has not enough money to buy a house of his own not rent at least a 3 bed room flat and a car to move him and his family around should not get married.
When he gets married in his low credit, the family tends to suffer. The probability that he will get rich is actually 0.5 not up to 1 because Sundry expenses will now become expenses when married. Things he could ignore when single will now be important.
When children arrive, the probability of getting rich falls to an all time low of 0.2. Have you observed that most men have a higher credit score when single? If you have $500 at the end of every week when single if your job/income doesn't change or upgrade when you get married your $500 falls to $200 because you no longer feed yourself but feed a woman and probably a child.
When the child grows older school fees will set in. And other bad debts will be incured .
Don't get me wrong, I ain't saying he will never make it but in the mean time, why bring a child to the world to suffer? Even if it's for 6 years before you make it? Why take a woman from her father's comfy house to hardship in the name of marriage?
I advice ladies never to get married no matter how cool a guy is unless he is proven to be able to cater for your needs and that of your children financially in all ramifications both expenses and sundry expenses.
It doesn't make any sense, what you enjoy when single as a lady why stop enjoying it because your husband has no money or your money now goes to supporting him?
They say women ain't equal to men. Ok let the men be rich and rich enough to take care of their wives 101% before getting married. In fact, studies show most men marry for sex. You're very wrong and very very wrong . Very little amount of guys earn above 150k for a start . You don't get promotions yearly . How do you think a guy can build a house within 5yrs if he's doing something legit. The truth is , only scammers (yahoo boys ) can satisfactorily acquire things you listed that a guy must own before marriage . I'm no saying guys don't do legit jobs to build houses at young age but it's very very few . In other t have a stable family what you should suggest is for the women to get themselves to work . The man is the head doesn't mean the woman should stay lazy and watch the man provide everything the family needs. In this tough economy every man needs a wOman that's capable of bringing something to this he table . I mean every man in a legit struggle needs a supporting wife to pull through . If the guy is earning 150k and you the woman can earn 100k the family will do perfectly okay and can afford a car in a year . And can afford to get a house in the next 5yrs . What you should be talking about is women taking the challenge . For you as a man to be able to care for every challenge you must have put in up to 10yrs where you're working to be earning above 500k . For you to be able to put in 10yrs then you should be about 35yrs of age or more . Only very few guys get a job that can start them off with something above 400k and those are guys who were lucky to get the chevron jobs . And chevron and it's likes don't take up to 50 new staffs in Nigeria every year. What do you say about the other thousand guys who graduate every year ? The country is tough and a man need a working partner that brings something to the table . Once again.you're very wrong to say girls should stay away from a guy if he have not gotten his own house . If you go by that then majority of the girls will have to settle with men above 50yrs cos it's men thay age that are sure to must have gotten the goals you made compulsory for a man to possess before a girls should stick with him . |

A National Youth Corps member Okeke Stanley Chima has been conferred with the chieftaincy title of Ozo Ogbenye 1 of Igbudu-Ekka community for sinking a borehole in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Chima also stocked a library at the Community Secondary School, Nkomoro in the council.
Chima said the projects were part of his Community Development Service (CDS), a core part of the NYSC.
He said the initiative was informed by a need to solve a problem as he saw it upon his posting to the community. Chima said the need became an obligation considering that he was accepted and cared for by the people. He added that the only way he thought he could impact on their lives was through such projects. He urged the benefit-ting communities to continue to extend the same hospitality showed him to other Corps members that would be posted to the area.
Daisy Girl Foundation, a Lagos-based non-governmental organisation whose cardinal objective is to support the development of future national and world leaders, sponsored the two projects.
Mrs Marilyn Maduka, the founder of the foundation said they identified with the Corps member because his CDS initiatives were in tandem with the core objective of the foundation.
She said the foundation was interested in developing education and values especially in the girl-child in Nigeria and beyond. She urged the communities to make use of the projects as the foundation would visit in near future to inspect and do more projects for them if they could maintain the existing ones. In their remarks on behalf of Igbudu Ekka, the community Head, Mr Ogbaigbo Emmanuel Ugbala and the youth President, Ogwale Matthew who lauded Corps member and the Foundation said the new borehole has ended the scarcity of water hitherto facing the community.
They said the project was going to unite the people more and prayed God to reimburse them in double fold. The Principal of community Secondary School(CSS) Nkomoro, Mr Ugama C. C, who commended the Corps member and the foundation said the library was the first of its kind since the establishment of the school in over two decades.
He said the Library would inculcate reading culture in the students and pledged to ensure judicious use of the library.
The member representing Ohaozara East state constituency, Hon. Augusta Udeh who commissioned the projects said he was impressed to be associated with such laudable achievement and thanked the Corps member and the Foundation for the humanitarian services. Hon. Udeh appealed to the community not to discriminate among themselves on the use of the borehole just as she admonished the students and teachers of CSS Nkomoro to make proper use of the Library.
The state Coordinator of NYSC in Ebonyi state who was represented by Mr Kingsley Ndukwe commended the Corps member for the initiative and urged other corps members to emulate him. Highlight of the event was the distribution of items such as clothes, beverages, shoes, cream, etc to widows and other villagers by Daisy Girl Foundation.
http://thenationonlineng.net/corps-member-honoured-donating-borehole-library/ He did it cos the people were nice to him . I served at Ebonyi , Afikpo north to be precise . Then they sell bag of pure water to me for 120 and they sell to their people for 100 . It was after about 8 months I got to discover it . They collect nepa bill even when you dont see light . Are those the kind of people to do project for ? |
