I have this feeling Fletcher will never get back to his best again with this virus shiznit Isn't he like 29 already? |
ritchboy:Who's playing at home? Cos no team comes to SOHO SQUARE without having their asses plunged ![]() |
dayokanu:Egbon, e fimile mehn |
I blame the pitch. ![]() Or maybe there was no one to keep the shape. I cant even laugh. If we could not qualify from this group with 2 games left . . . then we should have given our slot to Tottenham. |
I'm not overly surprised. To be fair, I don't think we deserved to qualify from the group. Looking forward to watching United play on Channel 5 and ITV4. ![]() |
Debosky is just an ashawo. smh |

coogar:Of course I am top dog. Leading the Head- to Head league and top 3 in the main league. The other names you mentioned . . . well, you will have to scroll down to find them. ![]() |
duduspace:Is this the best Arsenal fans can cling on to? ![]() Where is the trophy for that achievement? Blimey! |
Shocking! Crystal Palace deserve all the credit. Congrats to them. |
dayokanu:Well, football is not all about assists or goals . . . it's important to be in shape. |
StarBoard:The 2006 final was not at Wembley. StarBoard:These young lads have to be eased in sometimes. You cannot just throw them in at the deep end most times . . . Fergie is the best at blooding younsters. He has a proven record. You have to carefully select how you throw them in - one crazy bad game could have a detrimental effect on their confidence. Morrison didn't feature in the early round due to injury. To be honest, Pogba has potential but isn't ready yet. It cannot be exclusive just for the young lads . . . There is so much on the line sometimes (Manchester derby - pride) or in the final where you have a chance to win a trophy. It makes sense to mix the young lads with experience . . . you can't just field a team of inexperienced players and expect them to learn/improve. My team for tonight: ---------------------Lindegaard/Amos----------------- ----- Rafael------ Smalling---------- Evans---------- Fryers -------Valencia ---------- Gibson --------- Park --------- Diouf ---------------Berbatov ----------------- Macheda |
What is Starboard trying to project? I wanna win every game possible abeg No one is saying the CC is the best thing since agbalumo. . . but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to win it. We are in the quarters with a chance of getting into the semis. Afterall, Fergie has been using it to blood the youngsters for seasons now and they have played in two Wembley finals. Mind you, its not only meant for the young lads but also for fringe players that might need games. If we get knocked out in the early rounds, these kids might not have enough opportunities to showcase their talent. If Leeds had knocked us off, Morrison and Pogba wouldn't have had another chance to play against Aldershot and possibly tonight as well. Progress in the competition gives more exposure to these kids. I think we should go in to win it! |
I'd rather be a fat bastard than be a shape keeper |
debosky:Na everyday you dey go desert? mukina2:And that is why you keep languishing in mid table ![]() |
Linesman shiznit again. We had all the chances in the world to kill that game off. |
Ravel Morrison any day abeg. That kid is genius . . . the level of confidence he has for his age is outstanding. He is as cocky as they come. Holds no fear. He can play any where across the midfield or up front but I think that floating role will suit him as I cant see him playing in a 2 man midfield. As much as I like Pogba . . . that kid is not ready yet. It will be unfair to throw him in at the deep end right now. The only other option we have is Gibson. He is like O'Shea . . . just average. The only thing i like about him is his accuracy at hitting shots on target. He has scored some wonderful pile-drivers in his time I think Giggs will have to play more games than expected right now since stubborn Fergie has said Anderson's injury wont make him go into the market. ![]() |

With Man City travelling to Anfield this weekend, Man United has an opportunity to close the gap at the top of the Premiership table when it hosts Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday. Manchester United has won seven of its last ten matches against Newcastle, with the Magpies’ best result against United during this period, an away draw achieved in 2008. This was one of three draws between these teams during this period. Newcastle lost its most recent away game against United 3-0. Man United comes into this fixture on an unbeaten run of six games, with four wins and a draw to show for its last five matches. After taking five straight wins, United stuttered to a 2-2 draw with Benfica in the Champions League in the midweek. United has scored 7 goals in its last five matches, and has relied heavily on a superb defence to get the results. However, this defence let United down on Tuesday, as the Red Devils conceded 2 goals – failing to secure clean sheet for the first time in five games. Meanwhile, Newcastle United is fighting to maintain momentum, with three wins and two losses from five matches. The club was brought down to ground with a bump this weekend, when it went down 3-1 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Newcastle still looks sharp up front, with 10 goals scored in five matches. Poor defence caught up with them at the weekend, and they’ve now conceded 8 goals in five matches. Match |
Manchester City faces one of the toughest tests of this season when it travels to Anfield this weekend to take on a resurgent Liverpool, who come into the match fresh off an away victory against Chelsea. A win for City in this match would put them well on their way to the title, while a loss would close the gap at the top of the leader board. Liverpool has won four of its last ten fixtures against Man City, while City has taken a single win. Five of the remaining matches ended with level scores. Manchester City has not beaten Liverpool at Anfield since 2003, and the club’s last visit to Anfield produced a 3-0 win to the home team. Manchester’s flawless record over recent months came to an end in the Champions League this week as they lost 2-1 to Naples. This result was City’s first loss in ten matches. However the club, remains unbeaten in the Premiership this season. Man City has scored 13 goals in its last five matches. Patchier defence caught up with them on Tuesday, with 6 goals conceded in the past five games. And City now knows it will need to shore up its defence if it is to win tighter games. Liverpool comes into this match with three wins and two draws from its last five matches. The club has been in solid form over the last couple of months, with just one loss from its last ten matches. Liverpool is doing well courtesy of disciplined defence, which has conceded just 3 goals in fine games. This has allowed the strikers to keep the club ahead with just 7 goals in the same period of time. Match |
Arsenal will look to extend its unbeaten run this weekend when it hosts Fulham at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal has won six of its last ten clashes with Fulham, while the Cottagers have taken two wins, and the remaining two matches ended in draws. Fulham has not achieved a single away win at Arsenal during this period. Fulham’s last trip to Arsenal produced a 2-1 victory for the Gunners. Arsenal’s unbeaten run was extended to eight games on the weekend when it put away Norwich City 2-1 in an away game. That result left the Gunners with four wins a draw from their last five matches. Arsenal continues to score at a brisk rate, with 12 goals scored during the last five games. Defence has been quite diciplined, particularly in the last three matches, conceding 5 goals in total. Fulham, meanwhile, continues to tread water in the mid-table, with two losses, two wins and a draw to show for their last five matches. The club has been most impressive in the Europa League, where it has lost one of its four fixtures to date. Fulham’s strikers have scored a respectable 8 goals in their last five matches. A few poor defensive performance have seen Fulham concede 7 goals during this period, however, 6 of these were conceded in the space of two matches. Match |
Chelsea are keeping shape . . . so all is well |
At least Chelsea kept their shape ![]() |
^^^ You are fooling yourself ![]() |
We only have ourselves to blame. 2 mistakes cost us and we really need to sort that defence out. Apart from the goal Fletcher was useless today . . . Valencia has to get to the byline before putting a cross in. Evra's defensive positioning is starting to get me worried. I think Fergie should employ Carrick as a temporary AM for the time being . . . that guy can pass a ball thorough the eye of the needle . . . only problem with that is he is the only disciplined CM we have that can protect the back four. We have to play better against Basle |
Has Valencia ever touched the ball with his left foot? ![]() |
Why is Petr Cech still wearing that head guard though? The head injury he suffered happened about 3 years ago . . . is he that mentally weak? |
