Arsenal have developed a touch of the Liverpools about them recently with their last three home games in the league finishing 1-1, 1-0 and 1-1. The draws came against Fulham and Wolves - teams not dissimiliar in ability to QPR who aren't a bad outfit on their travels. They've won at Everton, Wolves and Stoke this campaign and played well in defeat at Tottenham and Liverpool. Neil Warnock is bound to set his team up to defend deep and play on the break and with the pace they have in attack they might just cause Arsenal some problems. The Gunners are used to dominating these sort of games and many of them turn into training-ground exercises for their attack but QPR offer more of a threat than many of the teams that turn up and park the bus. Blackburn showed great character to get a point at Anfield on Boxing Day but it's fair to say they were let off the hook by some poor finishing and they won't be so lucky at Old Trafford. Manchester United are in ruthless form at present, winning their last two games 5-0 against Fulham and Wigan to make a real dent in Manchester City's goal difference advantage. Another 5-0 win here would wipe out that advantage completely which seemed very unlikely as little as two weeks ago. Match |
Very painful loss . To think Wenger followed my recommendation of starting Benayoun ahead of Ramshit and we still didnt get the three points.I think all the players bar Djouru really played very well but the Wolves goalie was really on some other ish. We would have gone third on the table had we won . Tottenham is sure to beat Norwich and the gap will winden.I kind missed Walcott today though.
Loss? ![]() "It was an excellent team performance" ![]() |
Not a bad idea but it needs to be simple and straight to the point. Not too many changes. But any new proposal needs to be effective from the end of next season though cos some would argue they should have known from the start and stuff. |
Kabukabu for Ashley Cole please? ![]() |

coogar:I just love the fluidity of Welbeck and Rooney plus the wingers (Nani + Young) And I noticed the way we pressed from the front today . . . their defenders barely had any time on the ball particularly in the first half. 2 home games against Wigan and Blackburn to come. We are in a good position. nateevs:How expensive |
coogar:Oh good. Hope he plays tonight. But I'm also thinking Liverpool might want to protect the dude and not play him especially tonight as the verdict is still very much fresh. I had to use my wildcard last week. I no dey carry am go heaven. Plus I can use the other wildcard from the new year. |
Ibime:I think I've lost in the H2H already. Bought Suarez yesterday and a few hours later . . . the dude copped an eight match ban. ![]() |

Gervinho is a waste-pipe. No end product whatsoever. smh |
I've always said on this thread . . . Carrick is our only disciplined CM. For me in that central position . . . it should be Carrick and any one else. |
Chelsea is officially back in the hunt for the Premiership title after engineering a come-from-behind victory over Man City at Stamford Bridge last weekend. With the bit between their teeth the Blues travel North in search of full points against woeful Wigan. Chelsea has won eight of its last ten matches against Wigan, while Wigan has pulled off a single home win during this period. Chelsea has managed four away wins against Wigan at the DW Stadium during this period. Chelsea’s last visit to the DW Stadium saw the Blues crush their hosts 6-0. Despite a win over West Brom on the weekend, Wigan still finds itself in the relegation zone with two wins, two losses and a draw to show for its last five matches. These results are somewhat flattering for the side, which has spent the last several weeks playing other clubs lurking in the last five of the Premiership. Wigan has scored a total of 8 goals in its last five matches. Defence has been amongst the worst in the Premiership over recent weeks, conceding 12 goals during this period. Chelsea, meanwhile, is back from the brink with four wins and a single defeat to show for its last five fixtures. City has shown form against quality opponents in recent weeks, putting away the likes of Newcastle and Valencia before ending Man City’s unbeaten run in the Premiership this season. Chelsea’s return to form has much to do with the performances of its strikers, who have accrued 11 goals in five matches. Defence has done its bit for the cause too, letting in just 3 goals during this period while maintaining three clean sheets. Match |
All eyes will be on Queens Park Rangers this weekend when they host Manchester United at Loftus Road. The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City will all be hoping that QPR can pull off an upset win in this fixture, and slow United’s ascent to the top of the league table. Manchester United and QPR have clashed just once in the last decade, with United pulling off a 1-0 victory against QPR in the League Cup in 2008. After some impressive performances in the early part of the season, QPR is struggling to stay afloat in the Premier, with the side losing three, drawing one and losing one of its last five matches. QPR has scored 7 goals over its last five matches. While the attack has performed respectably enough, the defence has been a problem – letting in 9 goals during the same period of time. Manchester United, meanwhile, is starting to make its consistency tell in the Premiership. While two defeats outside the Premiership have left United with two wins, two losses and a single draw from their last five matches, the club has lost just once in the Premiership this season, and has closed Man City’s lead in the tournament to just 2 points. United has scored a relatively modest 8 goals in its last five matches. Defence has also been under par, letting in 6 goals during the same period. Match |
Liverpool has won five of its last ten matches against Aston Villa, while Villa has taken two wins and three matches have ended in draws. Liverpool has achieved two away wins against Aston Villa over this period. In recent seasons these sides have been evenly weighted with both sides claiming home and away wins in their last five meetings. Liverpool’s last trip to Villa Park ended with a 1-0 win to Aston Villa. Aston Villa heads into Sunday’s fixture with two wins, two losses and a single draw to show for its last five fixtures. It’s worth noting that both Villa’s recent defeats were sustained against top 4 clubs (in the shape of the Spurs and Man United), and that the side’s form has been on an upward trajectory over recent months. Villa has scored 5 goals in its last five matches, failing to score in three of these. Defence has let in 6 goals during this period, maintaining just 1 clean sheet. Liverpool has won three, lost one and drawn one of its last five matches. The Reds bounced back from their shock away defeat to Fulham on Monday last week with a determined 1-0 home victory over QPR on the weekend. Liverpool has scored 6 goals in its last five matches, and continues to miss the services of Stephen Gerrard in midfield. Defence has carried the side forward, letting in just 3 goals in five games and maintaining two clean sheets in the process. Match |
tkb417:Who else do you wanna play there when everyone is crocked? Abi you wan make Fergie come out of retirement go hold midfield for you. ![]() |
:-x :-x :-x |
Morrison was not in the reserve team that beat Liverpool 4-0 tonight . . .I'm only guessing it means he is in the squad for the weekend. Even Gibson came off injured |
The only one I can point out to be ready is Morrison. To me, if that kid gets game time, he could turn out to be something special . . . not immediately but in the long run. He is confident and fearless. I dont think Pogba is ready but I can see him holding is own in a 3 man CM. Another option will be to recall Ryan Tunnicliffe from his loan spell at Peterbrough. He sorts of remind me of a young Roy Keane. We also have Matty James . . . played well for Preston on loan last year before Fergie recalled him after Darren Ferguson was sacked. Davide Petrucci is another exciting prospect but he hasn't had luck with injuries. Those are the midfield youngsters we have as options. |
dayokanu:All those Manchy hoes are deadly |
It would be disrespectful to whoop your elder's ass |
