He returns after the Norwich. AVB has stated he will use inverted forwards and Sturridge was the best forward player of pre-season.

Mata will obviously start. Torres already starts in front of Drogba.
Lamps is sure to start, Mikel will sit and if we spend £30m on Modric, he will start.


So tell me, do I need to be in AVB's head to figure this out?

That's a very strong and potentially very creative line up. I really believe we can achieve a lot with this starting 11. We may not have explosive, pacy, wing/byline thugs, we will make up for that in immense creativity with all those players able to pop up at many spots on the pitch and still manage to create something.




In the FA Cup/Carling Cup, "I think" - judging from the way AVB likes to set up and the things he's said - that the team will line up this way in midfield and attack.

Park was on the bench yesterday, if we were to play Barcelona tomorrow, his name will be first on the team sheet for the midfield positions.
What was your definition of 'dropped' in the context you used it as anyway? Berba was dropped due to poor performance?

Welbeck didnt play well in the first half cos he was dropping too deep most of the time into the midfield. Fergie just confirmed this in the post match interview.

He told him to stay up top in the second half and things changed.
