European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: How The New European Super League Will Work by Chanchit: 9:54am On Apr 20, 2021 |
Rich4god: In my own understanding. I think uefa is fighting to protect the interests of the smaller clubs. Now imagine if the super leagues succeed, people won't have any interest watching other competition. This in turn will deny smaller clubs the opportunity to generate revenue, there by gradually killing them. Because they won't have the finance to buy good players, leaving them with just low and average players. Whilst on the other hand, the founding clubs of the super League will generate much revenue, giving them the finance to buy quality players. Now at the long, European football will now be just for the super league teams as no one will be watching other competition.
Just take for instance. Compare the number of people that watch Europa League to the number that watch champions league. And since champions league is open for all through qualifying, smaller teams that enter the group stage are giving huge amount of money. These are the funds that makes the smaller teams to stay afloat.
How many times have any of you guys watched the Belgian, Russian, Ukrainian, Austrian domestic league. Clubs from these countries don't generate much from fans outside their country. It's when they qualify for champions league that's when they have the opportunity of been in the light of fans world wide.
If the super League succeed in out rating champions league, smaller teams will suffer and at the long run, football will just be for the big clubs only.
Just my own opinion. Seeing how gullible fans are supporting this ESL made Me realize you can't fight for the world. When the smaller clubs all pack up and we have only 15 teams to watch. The system won't be able to absorb the amount of footballers that pass through various academies. soon clubs won't buy players from abroad except the extremely talented because they need to cater the the talents wasting away in their countries too, football would soon be dead if the ESL happens. |

Whenever i say our govt are not our problem ppl think I'm being bias but ppl like u keep proving me right. When you are in Rome? Your kind of mentality is what is pulling the East backwards every election year. You don't play politics the way it ought to be played. That's why you'll come and demand Igbo be made the next President when others have started laying foundation four years earlier. As if you don't know the policy of alliance. You fight the people who are supposed to be your allies and cry foul when you collect result. Bros, shift. Una never ready. |

stanley000: so when yahooboys are caught they should be publicized but when its government official they should "negotiate" right? You give yourself too much credit, pls learn to shut up and read brilliant comments. Calm down, no be everything be gragra. In this life, it's about who you know, not what the law says most times. A yahoo boy does not know An Orji Uzo Kalu or Obasanjo or any big wig. But people like Okorocha will walk in front door to go see Buhari, the next day. You'll see him with Obasanjo, next he's in the North. if you want to collect anything from such people, you'll have to dialogue. You sit them down with those people they run to meet and negotiate what you want to collect. Uzodinma is APC, Okorocha is APC. There's a limit to what he can drag with Okorocha. I don't expect you to understand anyway. |

nzeobi: For that of IMO it's either you are misinformed or choose to be ignorant. There's no way rochas will use State to build a university and estates and later auction them to his family members at give away or sell it to himself and you expect a incoming govt not to ask questions. Then the court too must be ill informed or didn't Okorocha win the case against the state? |
Politics › Re: Obaseki Demolishes Houses Of Oshiomhole’s Allies In Benin (Photos) by Chanchit: 7:07am On Mar 24, 2021 |
These people play mumu politics. See Imo state too, Ihedioha was victimizing Okorocha. Uzodinma entered and started doing same thing. Forgetting that they will also leave office.
It's disgraceful for a sitting governor to lose a case to a former governor, that was what happened to Uzodinma, cos he was going about it the wrong way.
Take a leaf from Lagos, Look at Ambode? He got many properties for himself while he was governor. They collected some when he left office, but it didn't get to the media, it was by negotiation. Now he's been giving another appointment.
Later una go wonder why Lagos is progressive, it because they don't do petty politics.
By the way, the demolished buildings looks like kiosk o, abi na inside kiosk Oshiomole allies dey live? |

wwwihy: Hence the need for local production of goods and services. If we produce half of the things we consume in Nigeria.... unemployment will be at 5% and naira to Dollar will be very strong, standard of living will improve. England imports majority of their food from other European countries and pounds has refused to fall. Stop taking everything these people tell you hook, line and sinker. If closing borders is what boosts currency, where is naira now, two years after closing borders? You want to close borders, but you open it for dangote and BUA, but others can't take anything out. Close it, let all of us suffer. You are closing borders, but you can relax car importation policy. Sebi innoson is also producing cars, don't let any cars enter Nigeria maybe people won't be forced to buy innoson, same way we've been forced to eat rice only produced in the North. The government is not yet sincere with their intentions. When they are ready, we'll know why we are suffering. You can't lock up other regions and open only north. |

Efewestern: So they now grow crude oil? Cocoa doesn't grow in every terrain, Cement raw materials aren't found everywhere, so how can a nation get all these at once?
Importing everything we consume will impoverish us, Let's take the oil industry for example, we had to opportunity to generate billions of dollars from the sector by fixing our refineries and expanding on inbuilt capacity, we could also have flooded the West African market with our refined produce, but instead, Asians and Europeans are dominating despite us being rich in oil and gas.
Think of the millions of jobs that would have been created should we have 5 functional refineries (We already have the west African market to dominate), think of the improved standards of living etc. With importation, only few benefits at the detriment of millions of people.
Reason this out. You don't understand what you replied. Crude oil is part of what we are supposed to be exporting. With Cocoa, we export cement already. But things like rice and other petty products are also to be allowed in, while we can also export yam, sweet potato, onions and others. This life is give and take. Government is supposed to face our refineries, since we have cocoa, they should look into that too. That's the best way to make more from what we have, not closing borders against things we can't produce conveniently. |
