Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, has shared photos of exciting places around the world (including Lagos) he ran with his aides and friends throughout the year 2016. The billionaire internet guru was in Lagos, Nigeria few months back (August) and ensured that he adhered strictly to his fitness routine -as he was spotted jogging along Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge.... The Calabar Bikers Carnival 2016 which is slated for today -witnessed a stylish arrival of bikers in Calabar, Cross River capital yesterday. The bikers performed different types of stunts to the admiration of the ecstatic crowd that lined up along the carnival route to catch a glimpse of the extreme riders. The highlight of the carnival will as usual be the street parade on December 28, where five bands will compete and eight non-competing bands will strut their stuff. The parade is billed to start 10 am and expected to last well into the night and possibly the wee hours of the morning. On Saturday, December 24, President Muhammadu Buhari announced that the last and most deadly stronghold of Boko Haram terrorists had been recaptured. The president said the terrorists were already on the run and had no place to hide. The Camp Zero was the last enclave of the terrorists to be recaptured. In the spirit of Christmas, members of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB held a massive protest today in the city of Malaga, Spain. The protesters who were armed with placards and Biafran flags -sang and marched the streets in solidarity for their leader Nnamdi Kanu who is in prison over treasonable charges. It was learnt that he victim, who returned from Malaysia for his wedding in Owerri on December 27, 2016, was reportedly shot dead on December 22 by the trigger-happy policeman, who is now at large, in the presence of his fiancée and younger brother. According to reports, Nduka got into in a serious argument with one of the pump attendants over his missing iPhone 7. The argument was said to have degenerated into a fight -with Nduka, inflicting injuries on the attendant... The manager of the station, Mrs. Ruth Enemmuo, who is now in police detention, intervened, adding that as soon as Nduka entered into his car, the police inspector fired, killing him instantly. Read the press statment by the Imo state police command The Imo State Police Command is saddened with the ugly incident that led to the shooting to death of one Nduka Eto male of Oguta Imo State by an Inspector of Police at NNPC Mega Station, Control Post roundabout on 22/12/2012. The shooting by the Police Inspector which occurred during a misunderstanding between the deceased, a pump attendant and the manager of the petroleum station was quite uncalled for. The State Police Commissioner has already briefed the IGP of the unfortunate incident. While expressing our condolence to the family, relations, friends and well wishers of the deceased, the Command wishes to assure the affected and the general public that the Command will do everything humanly possible to ensure that justice is seen to have been done. The Command therefore appeals for calm to enabled concentrate on the matter and ensure justice is done, please. Pictured is Christian Chukwuemeka, the thug who is allegedly responsible for the killing of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mohammed Alkali, and his driver during the 10 December federal legislative re-run polls in Rivers state. The suspect who has been arrested -led policemen to where he buried the body of the driver - Sergeant Peter Uchi, in Uju Forest, Omoku area of Rivers State. He was nabbed with the late officer's LG phone following six days of tracking.... The arrest was assisted by the support of the Police Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) and the 48 Division of Police Mobile. Police sources disclosed that Ekiekeme, also known as Prince Okoroma, an indigene of Okposi village, near Omoku, was arrested by the operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Response Team (IRT) in Omoku, when he came out from the creek to visit his girlfriend. According to reports, he also confessed that he and nine members of his gang members have seven AK-47 rifles, two pump action guns and that they ambushed the police team because they felt they were against their party. "He listed other gang members as Kelvin, John Ahiaikwo, Chukwuemela AKA Jungle Justice, Izu, Bright (Gang leader), Okechukwu, Ngozi, Christian, himself, and Kachi Nwokocha, who is their sponsor," said a top source, who added that serious efforts are being made to arrest remaining gang members.
