PoliticsProbe Or Solution to crashes: Senate Demands Reports Of Previous Investigations by channel190(op):
The issue at stake; the reason why the executive government chooses the option of not publishing the report of their investigation into last Saturday’s helicopter crash in Bayelsa State which claimed the lives of former Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Yakowa and erstwhile National Security Adviser, General Andrew Azazi.

The Senate, yesterday, urged the executive to publish reports of previous investigations into air crashes before any new probe could attract the confidence of Nigerians.
Condemning the resurgence of air mishaps in Nigeria, the Senate said it had become obvious that the Federal Government was no longer capable of coming up with solutions to causes of air crashes.

The Senate decisions followed deliberation on a motion moved by Senator Chris Anyanwu, APGA, Imo East for an investigation into the crash of the Naval Augusta 109 Helicopter in Bayelsa State last Saturday.

It is true that solutions only comes, when the problem is known.
We Nigerians have witnessed crashes of aircrafts all over the year, investigative panels have always been set up, probes alleged to have gone done with millions of masses revenue.
Which among the results and its recommendation have the government implemented?

Moving the motion yesterday, Senator Anyanwu who is also Chairperson of the Senate Commitee on Navy, said: “Senate notes that in 2007 and 2011, there had been two crashes of similar Augusta helicopters owned by the Navy; worried at the seeming recurrence of air mishaps not just in civil aviation, but also in the Nigerian Military, despite public outcry; aware that between March and October 2011, there were three reported cases of air mishaps by the Air force at different locations in the country, and that the causes of these crashes remain unknown.”

From Senator Anyanwu’s speech we should note that all the probes were done with results, if the causes remained unknown since 2007.
Must we trail the line of setting up committees to attain a simple truth?
Common sense will let you know every reasons behind every mishaps.

Presiding Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, overruled a motion for the three committees to carry out a joint independent investigation on the crash.
Senator Abaribe also confirmed the fact that no investigation in the past have provided reasonable results.

Senator Abaribe had told his colleagues that the three committees could only assist whatever committee the Executive would set up to investigate the crash, adding that the committees which were saddled with responsibilities of investigating similar air crashes in the past, never came out with any reasonable results as findings”.

Following deliberation on the motion, the Senate resolved as follows:
“That the Senate condemns the resurgence of air mishaps in Nigeria and the seeming inability of government to unravel the causes of the incidents.
“That the Senate do mandate the Committees on Navy, Airforce and Aviation to investigate the frequency of these mishaps with a view to finding a permanent solution.
“That the Senate observes a one minute silence in honour of the victims of Saturday’s air crash in Tombi, Bayelsa state.
“The federal Government should publish past reports of investigations into Air mishaps”.

Better said than done politicians, yes, we haveread the applauded deliberation resolved by our senate, our focus should be on the latter- “The federal Government should publish past reports of investigations into Air mishaps”.
Two committees, headed by Deputy Senate leader, Abdul Ningi, PDP Bauchi Central, and Minority Whip, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, ACN, Lagos West. Ekweremadu added that memberswould visit the bereaved families, was setup.

Governor Amosun have said it all; speaking to the bereaved family From primary investigations, there is every need to look at our maintenance culture. It is a sad occurrence.

obalola7: If you start thinking of offering box now, all your first convert will run.
Since you dont know anything about the bible yet, it will be hard to retain new convert, because they will eventually know you are not a good pastor and you dont know the word.
So what you might want to do, is to be assistant pastor, so you can gradually learn from the pastor. In terms of offering, you can design a website for credit card donation, but dont expect anybody to donate especially if their is no miracle in their lives. Also since its online, it will be difficult to persuade anybody to send you tithes and donation, until you have grown in size and you have been able to captivate your members with words that make them shy to pay you. In a real setting, many people pay tithes and offering as a result of shyness, competition, someone is looking at me, i dont want to be the only one that wouldnt drop something. But online, people make decision and are in control of their money and could easily ignore you.

So you might want to use your money first to do everything and even donation to the needy, look for a physical place to rent and look for God fearing people, but if money grabbing is your main goal, your church may not grow, cos some of the pastors that you will work with will know and then will be looking for ways to perfect sharing formula..
serious can you teach bible online? If I need it, so do many

obalola7: Good am happy that you have started examining how challenging it is to be a mega church pastor with lots of money flooding into your account like a pool of water.
Does that mean there is no more Nairaland church come January 2013 or it mean you are not ready to be used as a roasted chicken by those who might deal with you because you are grossly incompetent to do the things of God since you can not withstand the challenges? lol I de laugh
tHinking of starting with competent christians who will help to teach constantly by the use time table 'the bible'
Oooooo yes people like me who want to start a small ministry needs to learn the word from the scratch, listen to others discuss the beginning of the bible bit by bit to the end,, omo am dancing etigy, azonto is dancing me because alingo dancE taught am for once reasonable, but this online fellowship can't ve an offering box, how do we do?
