Me: yes here they are, this is from my school and this is the WES conversion
(He didn't even look at the Uniilorin and just perused thru my WES transcript and nodding his head
VO: your visa has been approved. Pick up your visa at the address, take your I-20 you will be needing them at the port of entry and enjoy your stay in USA. I madesure I heard those words people claim not to hear. Lol awon deaf and dumb crew (na joke I dey oo)

Teedawg I don laff tire for here.
Well Iam still reminiscing on the experience and I feel extremely lucky and grace covered me..
Many should be able to learn from my transcript especially the undergraduate applicants..
What I learnt?
Dont bother urself cramming any long transcript or preparing any long answers cause this interview is 2 mins or less. As early as 7:00am no VO has time to listen to any stories. Just short answers and straight to the point.. #I don't think u will be able to smile while talking with the VO, because u will have ur A game on and u dont have to worry that u are not smiling cos after paying N64k, na serious business.
You will not be able to hear what other applicants are saying to their VO's cos u will be too worried thinking of the "right" window to go.
Please never stop believing and always have faith.

Won't it be interesting if that happens? I guess the US embassy pegged the visa fees at $160 even as Nigerian embassy charges $210 because of recession in Nigeria.
Abi daddy trump secretly ordered for the reciprocity law to subtly take effect in Nigeria?
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by Chapecoense(m): 10:50pm On May 08, 2017
Now walspring my question is, if There is a chance they will reduce the rate, can this be done since many ppl may have already paid the N64k. Wont it be unfair to the applicants if all of a sudden they take it back to N54k? Secondly, Didn't they do consulatuons with CBN and other stake holders before they set this new rate?
Lastly there is a contradiction here on the part of the VOs. Visa officer here said the rate was set by the bank. On the other thread, AbujaNIV said they were the ones that set the rate. Me aff tire.

It'll be right to do the right thing by using the official rate. If it's $160 use official rate if it's $210 use official rate shikena
Do u know what you are saying? They should use official rate of N385 for $210?? meaning the visa fee will be N80,000? Guy no let me vex pass the vex iyam already vexing.

In my opinion what they are raising awareness for doesn't make sense, Nigeria charge US citizens about $210 for visa fee while they charge us $160, if they use the rate of #400/$, it is still less than when they charge us the equivalent of $210 at #385/$. This awareness might result in them charging us the normal $210 and I am sure no one will be able to say anything them
This is what iam thinking... This thing can actually back fire ooo...
They can just revert visa fee to $210 for only Nigeria and set the exchange rate at the official N385. Meaning visa fee will be N80k which is disastrous oo..

Will it be fair to set the visa fees at $210 and use N385 official rate or $160 and use N400 rate?
This point is a very sensitive point... Guys if the visa fee is taken to $210 @ N385 to dollar as official rate, or $160 @N400 to a dollar.
Which is better?
Its clear that we will be in Hot soup if Embassy follows reciprocity Law.

Hello Chapecoense. The visa fee has stayed constant at $160 for some time now. What's changed is the dollar-naira exchange rate. The Embassy/Consulate adjusts the rate it uses periodically based on market conditions. So at times, the rate will be above or below the prevailing market rate. In my experience, the exchange rate used by the Embassy/Consulate has been very close to the Central Bank rate, which is substantially lower (that is to say, cheaper) than the market rate.
Thank you for your response. But This current rate you are using is too high, especially when the naira has experienced some gains against the dollar. Its very surprising to see a new rate that is easily an all time high for visa fee..
I also saw on your webiste that the exchange rate for visa fee (N400/$1) will expire on the 12th of may 2017. Please, does this mean there is a chance that the rate could go down or back to what it used to be?
Thank you.

Yeah, it's true. De changed d new dollar rate to 300 to $1, so visa fee is now 48,000 for now, as d dollar shakes, d US embassy will change also but b sure to know, it won't go below 48,000 for anoda 6months
Its now N64,000 will they change it back?

Those dates are a function of when the rates will next be revised.
na wa o.. So it could either come down or go higher? Iam positive it may come down. Maybe they want to check how many ppl will pay 64k, if nobody pays from now till 12th, dey will kuku ma carry it back to how they met it.

Isn't there a regulatory body that check and balances the excesses of this foreign exchange saga? 64k is way too much for visa fee. @LagosNIV pls something should be done about this.
Also @LagosNIV, Whats the meaning of the expiry date on the exchange rate on your website..

Visa fee is $160 ..... so at 54000k they were using 337.50 which is still high compared to official rate

Now US embassy is using 400 naira times $160 making it 64,000 naira .

Does anyone know how they make formal complain in Nigeria......i definitely want to join the complain.... This is not right and i think bloggers and others should complain so that they can review and use official rate
I support you...
Bloggers wont see this one to complain oo.. They are busy looking for Tiwa savage scandal or Cossy water melons to talk about.

That because our government never do their work so anyone can get away with anything...shame and sad

How can the embassy be using 400 naira to a dollar when black market and abokifix is not up 400. That extortion because ideally it should be "official" rate used. Naija government we hail thee ooo angry angry
my GOD.. Daylight robbery... How do we report this to CBN? I feel its GTbank thats the culprint here.. Taking the exchange rate to N400 from N306 in just days. And Embassy even went to put expiry date. We need explanations o.

Ah! This is unbelievable. I can't but think about how much the consulate rakes in daily from Visa application. All prospective applicants had better be thoroughly prepared so that words such as "refire", " reapply " becomes nonexistent. I wish all fall 2017 visa applicants success!
Baba the strange thing is not even the N64k, its the expiry date attached. Which means after 12th of may, It might go higher.

Why?
I cant say anything for ILETS but the toefl is more popular and its not so hard. Reading passage, u answer questions from the passage, u listen to a conversation or a lecture and u answer questions from the convo, u are asked to speak on a familiar experience, u read a passage and summarise by speaking , u write on a familiar experience or write on a common topic, u read a passage and summarise. Every tom d!ck and harry with secondary school Education should be able to do the exam easily. But when u use the kaplan text it becomes easier.
The only problem u may have is time factor.
