hello, all
please I would love to ask,how old do you think your WAEC result can be to apply for an undergraduate program in the US. can someone with a 5yr old result apply and what do you think the VO would reason
You can apply with that waec result. You will only need to convincingly tell the VO what you have been doing since 5 years.

This didn't call for insults. I aired my opinion which is a new devt being adopted by many schools now for undergraduate admission. I never insulted you. And by the way, you are not working with WES, so don't make such wrong assumption about them, that 90% of their evaluation are undergraduate or graduate transcripts. Make proper research before coming here to talk nonsense. Go to the department of education website data collection, about 75% of ALL international students in USA are pursing undergraduate studies at either colleges or universities. And majority of these people are from non-english countries like China, they all have their high school transcripts evaluated into US system by WES or other agencies. So don't say what you are not sure of okay.
Its cool bro.. Cheers.

I have made my points clear for those that wanna understand it. What you just said is quite similar to mine. THE NEED FOR A TRANSCRIPT OR RESULT EVALUATION, whether waec or whatever. For a clearer admission decision.
Oga all these ur yarn no make sense.
You think becos u paid money to wes to evaluate ur result, then others should shell out money they dont have for things that are not even necessary.
Who told u most schools require WES evaluation for waec when u can just send them ur grades and scratch card info for them to verify and convert ur grades.
My guy always ask questions and stop all these ur unecessary rants.

so i have to submit my two sittings like that? I also applied at ferris state uni, those ones accept neco so wia can i evaluate my neco result & how do i contact wes? thanks much for ur time
My guy, looks like you have money to waste in this recession. What concern u with WES evaluation, are u a grad student? . I just dey vex as u dey plan to burn $200 for wes evaluation and also extra to get waec to send ur docs. ur school should even evaluate ur waec and tell u ur GPA per US standard as that's what is obtainable in most schools in their UG application.
CareerRe: Help! How Do I Become A Pilot? by Chapecoense(m): 12:45am On Mar 18, 2017
OP finish your degree first. There is no guarantee you will land a job after ur pilot training. You need money to become a pilot lots of it. If you do not have the money for it. Don't waste your time hoping that u will get a sponsor one day. Continue with ur life and ur degree and move on with other things.

Thanks for your response...
Just saw the i20 yesterday..

the dead line for summer application is by April 1st, if resumption date is now by March 5th, it's kind of confusing..

Contemplating if writing them to fix may 5th for me.

Hope the date is not too late for summer?

Was thinking summer is May - June...

Thx
Please contact the international office of your school ASAP. They are the ones to give you correct answers to your questions.

Hello everyone. I have a question please and I need an advice.
Im filling out a form for a school in Nebraska and I was asked to provide Proof of intent to depart the United States upon completion of the course of study. I don't understand. Is it applicable to all schools or just this one as I intend to further to M. Sc and stay back to work as soon as I'm done with school there. Should I change to another school or what?
Iam seeing this requirement for the first time.. That kind of question is usually meant for VO's well you can tell them how the course u plan to study will benefit your home country and how you will be champing at the bit to return home to utilise ur knowledge to develope ur country. If ur course is a professional one, let them know there is current shortage of comptent professionals in ur field and ur country will be needing ur service more than the US upon completion of studies. If married, u can attach photos like walspring suggested.
Abeg remove from ur mind the idea of saying u intend to stay back and all that. Hope u dont plan to tell that to the VO?
Best wishes.

Please when is student in Cleveland resuming for summer term 2017

Kind of confuse, got an i20 stating my resumption date is March 5 2017

Please need and explanation?

Thx...
That I-20 is already invalid since u never went for interview.
Looks like the summer session has already started and if u want to still go for that session, u might want to write your school and have them prepare another I-20 granting you an extension to resume at a later date.

First time commenting on this thread, but franknetter incase u see this..
Please back out of that decision to return home. To do what exactly? In this trump era?? Please are u not more than 18yrs? Do not accept that decision because if u do, I dont think u can ever pull urself together to do med in Nigeria. Try talk to ur parents again. If they say no, u have no choice than to leave that house and be on your own. Go and rent an apartment and continue with ur job in the US. Save up, Start life there, man up dude, take charge of your life.. Decide on the career path u wanna choose in the US and have a blue print to pursue it. But please do not yield to their decision oo if not you will regret it.
My own 2 cents.

My question now is, How can a student know if his or her SEVIS is active or cancelled?
We just saw a situation of a school striking out sevis record without contacting the student. Hian..

Please preach on! They'd be attacking me as if I wished Nigeria and Nigerians bad. Citizens of other countries, even though they live in the US, will never hope their country's currency continues to fall in value.
Someone came to the US in 2014 when the rate was 180 or less, and expects students who want to come now to pay N520. They would only be looking from one perspective. To be fair, one must consider all views. See iCool said he had been calculating how he'd get Dollars for over N600. Come on!
We here in the US know that the Naira is not that of little value compared to the Dollar. In Walmart, one flimsy set of toothpicks costs over $1. In Nigeria, you could buy ten of that same quality with N500. N500 to $1 is a lie, big lie. Even though Dollar is so scarce, why should it get above N500? There's no rationale to it.
I work here in the US, the people in Nigeria also work as well to earn Naira, so no one should say the Dollar they are earning was earned through hard work. Is the Naira Nigerians earning earned via soft work??
Bros you spoke the truth.. They dunno more students are still to come, why should it now be difficult for us?
Meanwhile i just dey here dey wait for baba TWoods to come and weigh in on this matter lol.

Hello house..I want to know why VOs ask the question " how many schls did u apply to?" If you applied to only one school and they gave u admission, will it hinder ur chances at d embassy?
And again test is more advisable to write? GRE/TOEFL/IELTS?
Cc: lagosismyhome thanks for the wonderful job you ve been doing. God bless u ma
1 maybe it has something to do with how serious you are.
2 those tests have their own purpose. You write them for their purpose.

Please guys, over 2weeks, I have not received admission response from my department at Tennessee State University. Going for msc fall "17. Please what do I do
Even if your school has a rolling admission, 2 weeks is not enough time.
You are not the only applying to that school. They will need to process ur docs and ensure its complete before they review it, Allow a month.
If ur school is not rolling, the wait go still long.. Just goan buy playstation.

they don't care... as long as they get their money in dollars. The exchange rate is your problem.
Lol..
But wont they review ur bank statement to know if u will be eligible to recieve the i20? Remember our statement here is in Naira so they gotta do the conversion with an exchange rate themselves to know if u have sufficient in dollars to cover first yr of study..

All these multiple exchange rate..
Now my question is... Are universities in the US aware of all these exchange rates?
And we have like 4 diff exchange rate now, which one do US universities use to review one's bank statement?.

Hi everyone, I am new here(USA thread). Here is the breakdown of my shirt story. I have a degree in computer science from Nigeria with a 2.1(4.0/5.0). I am just about completing a fully funded master's degree in computational science in Canada 3.55/4.0 GPA, 78 percent average. I have two publications in a Nigerian journal and I am getting ready to publish one in a top rated international journal. Now I am interested in a PhD in Computer Science in any USA university, with some clause however:

[1] A university that issues scholarship on admission, hence there will be no serious need to present a lot of cash for the student visa.

[2] A university that is fairly easy to get into with fair rating

[3] A university that does not require GRE.

[4] A university that does not require neither Ielts nor Toefl.

I was able to identify just one school so far from my search. I know there are folks with experience here so other than continue endless searching, i have decided to come back home. Mak una helep me o. I am preparing against the next admission cycle. I also have to state that I have a very strong coding background, data structure and algorithm as well as high level mathematics so I could effectively function well in pretty much any area of research.
wehdone sir... Wehdone sir.

well it seems you've been admitted already correct me if I'm wrong. in that case your I-20 should be ready as soon as possible the shipping will take about 3-7 days
No, his post does not say he has been admitted.
He said he paid his app fee and submitted other supporting docs, and the reply he got from the school was that his application is under review and he will be notified once his i20 is ready.
So this means that the modus operandi in his school is to give admission alongside the i20.
He should allow a month for the whole process.
