Northeastern: Update time.
I have gone to pick up our passports.
Wifee and I received emails and text messages informing us to go for collection. She's not around so I picked on her behalf. The requirement to pick for her was to drop a photocopy of my Id. The DHL office does not have a photocopier so I made the photocopy outside in a car that is parked on the street for one hundred naira for a copy.
On booking flight, British Airways was our first choice but we can only take one 23kg check-in baggage per head in their economy. We fashi am based on say we want carry three bags.
We now faced Turkish Airways, Etihad, Emirates and Qatar. Screened out TA because it is the most expensive.
While the Dubai and Doha airports top the Abu Dhabi airport in terms of class and prestige, the have more traffic. Also, fares for Emirates and Qatar are higher than that of Etihad across most if not all dates. So I'll be booking Etihad for price and traffic reasons.
I have looked at the pricing of fares and discovered that it is cheapest for dates that are far into the future like 3 months+, and cheaper around 3 to 9 days before departure.
I am looking at booking a one way ticket to JFK for the two of us for $1,653 for any day between 24th and 31st of July. That is the lowest it gets to on Etihad when the departure date draws near. That amount is less than 600k naira.
On housing, I have gotten an agent to hold a studio for me @ $1,179 per month, it is available from July 17th and can be held till July 31st. The initial unit we were considering @ $1,022 available August 6 was given to another tenant. There are other units @ $1,022 that will be available by September, I might switch to the cheaper unit later.
The greatest advantage of the apartment is its location; I'll only trek for 6 minutes to campus.
May God bring all our hopes to pass. $1,179 is really alot for a studio. Which city is this? |

BlowJobs: not when you worked really really long hours. everything for life no be money o Well i think being a Nurse with a bachelor's degree in the US is worth it regardless. |

BlowJobs: Nursing is easy and not easy. Depends on your mind set.
You'll be required to take some Science courses and yes, you can easily switch field ( especially if you have the money). A lot of people have done it in the past.
The only reason why people think nursing is "lucrative" is because you can't be out of employment. You can easily get a job being a nurse. In fact, Jobs will "fall on your laps".
There's nothing lucrative about working really really long hours to make 4000-6000 per month. There are several IT people that make that and more without working long hours. Even some waiters at restaurants make that amount (or more depending on season and Tips from customers) $6k per month is not lucrative?? |

Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by Chapecoense(m): 8:03pm On May 22, 2018 |
theamerican: I will try to interpret this. The U.S immigration laws are so complex that unless you understand them, you could make mistakes and put yourself in trouble when you panic and do something stupid.
When a student falls out of status, That's all there is to it: they're out of status. Some people think the day you violate your visa and fall out of status is the day you start accruing unlawful presence. NO! Unlawful presence starts counting when you get an order to leave/deportation order or when you apply for an immigrant benefit and it gets denied.
Let's use an example. A student is supposed to resume school on August 7, 2016. He didn't go to the school. He remains in the U.S. and works illegally. He has been out of Status, that's all. We're in May 2018. You'd think he has accrued 2 years of unlawful presence. He has not. Until he gets a deportation order, or he applies for an immigration benefit (for example green card) unsuccessfully, they don't start counting unlawful presence.
Now, the new law has fixed that. It has triggered counting unlawful presence the instant you fall out of status. In the past, they had to find you, and get a judge to issue you an order to leave voluntarily, or deportation order or a denied USCIS application to start the clock to count the days.
Do you understand so far? Good.
It's the same way a 3 year/10 year ban is only activated when you wanna return to the U.S. so if you've accrued unlawful presence for 6 months for example and you never leave the U.S. the ban doesn't come to effect. It is triggered when you answer calls from the village, visit them and then wanna get back into the U.S.
A summary of the new law: once you fall out of status, you start accruing unlawful status. Any unlawful presence over 180 days triggers a ban that works just like I explained above. In addition, 1 year of unlawful presence triggers a permanent ban. The bans also make you ineligible to try to get a visa, greencard, etc. This new law has blocked some paths.
When you wanna adjust your status and get a green card, there are two questions you'll have to answer. Have you ever violated the terms of your visa (been out of status)? And have you ever been ordered to leave/received a deportation order/applied for a green card (to calculate accrued unlawful presence)?
Let's see an example:
Suppose that same student in the above example marries here and wants to get a green card. Under the old law, he hasn't accrued any unlawful presence (I believe you understand how/why), but under this new law, he has accrued over 1 year, triggered a permanent ban which makes him permanently inadmissible and ineligible to apply for visa/green card.
Oh, I must add... Marrying a U.S. citizen makes them forgive a visa overstay (falling out of status), but this new law blocks that. Now it's not falling out of status anymore but unlawful presence/ban and even marriage can't save some people because unlawful presence/permanent bans rule you out of adjusting your status.
This is my opinion/interpretation. It's not legal advice and shouldn't be construed as one.
Well articulated, but let me quickly correct the bolded; This bar to adjustment DOES NOT apply to: •IMMEDIATE RELATIVES; •Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)-based applicants; •Certain foreign doctors and their accompanying spouse and children; •Certain G-4 international organization employees, NATO-6 employees, and their family members; •Special immigrant juveniles; •Certain members of the U.S. armed forces and their spouses and children; or •Employment-based applicants who meet the INA 245(k) exemption. |

timesup234: Your post is for the brainwashed. There are more people suffering in America than Nigeria. America is a country filled with homeless and hopeless people. The net worth of Americans is tied to the value of their home they wont be able to afford till death. College educated Americans at the age of 35yrs are still living with their parents while the females sell their bodies to sugar daddies in europe in order to come up with the monthly $200 student loan debt. America infratructure is in a decaying state and illiteracy is rampant with very high suicide rate. The US. death rate is higher than that of Nigeria in figures, i can go on and on and on. America indeed is one overhyped shithole Whoever is in the US should never bother arguing with you cos you are in a pretty bad shape upstairs. Its only GOD that can deliver u from this hate... |

Stanleyelege: I have read the debates here .
Nigeria is d fastest place to make money only if u indulge in sharp practices. I was working with mtn prior my relocation to Australia. I am currently schooling and I save at least 3000dollars a month. It took me 3.years of dedicated savings to gather 3million naira which I used as my first deposit.
I've spent only 6months in a Australia and I've saved over 12,000 dollars that is over 3milion naira. I have bought a rav4 jeep during this time, married an American citizen during this time, paid my tuition fee of 8000dollars during this time. Saving $3k a month as a student... this one got me.
My dept at mtn was outsourced nd salary was adjusted to 48,000. This is less than what I earn a day working as a student. So how much do u expect such person to save from a salary of 48,000 naira |

Oh men.. My travel transcript was not as detailed as I wanted make una forgive me lol.... Ok since I don settle down small make I talk small. So I flew Egypt air, Their Service was great, Arrived Cairo at about 7pm and about 20mins later we were conveyed to a 5 star hotel, we had lunch and breakfast there and a bus took us back to Cairo airport the following morning. We flew the triple 7 To JFK. The flight was quite uneventful except for some turbulence during the 11hr flight to JFK.. loved the flight crew. Would I fly Egypt air again? I sure will. I arrived JFK at about 4pm and we queued up.. The Queue was not that long and I got to the CBP official within 30mins. He only asked me if I was from Nigeria and That was it.. Was actually scared of POE but it was not a problem... So Na Yankee be this? Lol well I give thanks to GOD for everything and to this wonderful family I say thanks. |

Mayflowa: No train to Chicago except you using bus, greyhound. You will need to book online on time to make it cheaper. You also have to consider taxi fare in JFK to greyhound station too. It all depends on how much difference is the flight fare. He could take the airtrain in JFK to port of Authority Bus terminal serving greyhound for $7 |
