My own opinion

In 2016, Ize-Iyamu contested in the PDP & despite all the insult and demarketing by Oshiomole, he was able to pull 251,000 as against Obaseki's 316,000.
He was able to score this much in a party he just decamped to cos he has a large grassroot following in the state.

Now that he's back in the APC, just imagine his loyal support base + loyal APC members who will naturally vote for their candidate irrespective of any stereotype abt Ize-Iyamu coupled with the fact that Edo has been an APC state.

All these factors combined, i dont see any candidate that can defeat Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
