AustineVidal: Please pardon my typos. When i finished school, things became difficult for me after i spent all my money to sponsor myself. I prayed but no answer was coming I looked for job or help without seeing any in sight, then a family friend told me about a pastor who wants to sponsor him abroad so when he gets there he will be paying back gradually, but he told me i should go instead that since he has a job now and he believes in my capability to hustle under any circumstance. That was a relief to me coz i was almost getting depressed, so i was happy coz i have always had the ambition of traveling abroad of which i always regret using my money to go school. He told me to go and do my international passport of which i sold some of my valuables to do. We now went to meet the pastor in his church he told me that i will have to bring 100k that when I get there and start the work i will pay the rest unfailingly but i told him i have no money that he should add the 100k to the amount I'll pay back, i told him i am willing to pay more than the amount I'm supposed to pay back when i get there but he refused. My bros told him we will get back to him, my bros started telling me how genuine it is and that the pastor is the owner of the upcoming church meaning he can't just run away, he told me to look 50k that he will assist me with 50k. My mom went and borrowed 50k for me then we took it to the pastor with my passport he gave me assurance that the processing will start immediately. After one week i we called him and it wasn't going so i chatted him up on whatsapp that was when he told me he traveled to Niger Republic for a crusade that he will be coming back in a month time. He told me that my papers are being processed and sent me police report that wasn't bearing my name as if am a fool. After that he didn't come online again for two months i actually went to his church but couldn't find anyone there. I dropped so many messages for him on whatsapp, he came online and was shouting at me telling I'm not patient that he is going to cancel the process so told him to give me back my money and passport but he said when he comes back that i should go to his church someone will give me my passport. I went to the church but couldn't find anyone there only to be called on phone by someone who told me that my passport is inside the offering box so i checked and found my passport there and he has not been responding to our messages and blocked us. I'm very depressed now Just felt like talking to someone before i die I've made and touched good money before and you know the feeling of having money and not having again at all. Pls can i get a Sponsor, Someone to sponsor me abroad and when i get there, is either i pay him/her double of whatever amount he spent or he will be taking some percentage from my salary for some periods. Or a job here in Nigeria ( any kind) Please I'm very serious about this The money my mom borrowed i don't know how to pay back. I'm very down now my humble suggestion to you if truly ure real is that, try and purse for a while and go and study procedures and what it takes to go abroad. imagine someone will sponsor u, that means he will pay flight ticket and visa fee, and ask you to pay 50k and u did, he requested for passport and u foolishly give out, do only time ur passport need to go out from u,is when ure getting to embassy to get visa, that means u submit it to them not individual, next time don't mumu around and don't be desperate |

lifeandstylepro: Good day FAM, I got introduced to someone who says he can help me get Malta passport including I. D card, Drivers license orisirisi. I asked about my state in the country, also police harrassement and all, he replied with good (can't tell if it genuine though) evidences.
Please House do people really travel with these documents, I'm about committing some amount, I need clarification. Thank you Don't try it oo, ure trying to block your way to entire Europe, or even got jailed for it, any passport needs biometric and needed the individual to be present and do it, so how is your contact telling you, you will get a passport with biometric and other procedures, again Malta is a small country which every crime dat happened will be dictated, so avoid your self trouble |

Circulate: On a normal it's two years that's given for one to completely write all forms of carry over's and now it pass two years I had my first semester tried to do it but it proved more frustrating and difficult when I couldn't pay school fees for the first session cause ASUU and NASUU were on strike to effect the registration procedures and b4 time, I collected the fee from my bro which I later didn't pay cos I ate the money b4 they went on strike and came back from strike. Now the 2nd year registration just ended April and I don't have the courage and confidence to go pay or write the CO's for some reason only known to me. As for writing the jamb, I don't think it's too late owing to the privilege I'm still young just in my mid 20s.However, I know it can be degrading but I still have to go yo school cos it's never too late. Anyways Thanks for your contributive comment. Bro as much as I don't want to blame you much, but I will tell you, u relent so fast in your purse of your target. I personally had my first carryover in my 2nd year, the lady coping from my work got the course B While mine was missing script, that's Nigerian university for you. My advice to you is to pick that first person that commented about telling your brother and move to acquire skills that will help you, especially outside d country if you brother agrees to help you, don't think of taking another jamb cos b4 u will finish n go for service, u don pass 30 n mind you recruiters needs not more than 27yrs to apply, apart from government work, so be strong n face it, u gonna tell it as a story one of this days. |

DonFebzyBlog: Sorry for keeping you all waiting yesterday, I had a really long day so here we go.
When the chairman called me, he asked me to make a bigger supply this time around and that was not a problem for me as I had to go to my supplier and told him the amount involved. You know it's not easy to just trust someone with that sort of amount worth of goods so he had to tell one of his boys to follow me. On getting there everything went very smooth and I made about 180k from the deal after settling my supplier. When I got home Ronaldo had gone for his usual football training and I was alone so I brought out the money to count again to be sure I am the person actually holding this 180k in this Togo. I knelt down to pray and blessed God for such unimaginable favour that had come my way because it was very obvious I was going to be getting steady calls from the chairman to make supplies as he asked me that day to send him pictures of other types of attachment available which I didn't waste time to do. In all this period you won't believe I entered Togo with just 2 pairs of jeans, 2 shirts, 2 boxers, one slippers and one sneakers so you imagine I was already known with my everyday uniform. Then I looked at the money again and said to it, now I am making you, I need to spend a little of you to take care of myself as well lol. That was how I kept 150k and use 30k to spoil myself with some new clothes and toiletries, bought enough food in the house because Ronaldo loves to cook just that we didn't have enough money then to always stock enough foodstuffs. When Ronaldo came I could see how happy he was and that was the very first time he addressed me as his chairman lol. Now I have started looking good and I was not making supplies, the money started flowing gradually and that was how my social life in Togo also started changing. There was a day I took Ronaldo to a Nigerian bar were they sell isi ewu and nkwobi (don't be offended if I didn't spell them correctly), we met Ronaldo's club owner, that first chairman that gave me 50k and told me to come for the balance. He was sitting with some of his friends so we went to greet them and when he saw me, he looked really surprised because I had changed my haircut and now I look cleaner and fresher than the way he use to see me then. He then told his friends that he can see the seed he gave to me working in my life and that it was his seed that has transformed me so I have to pay for the isi ewu he was eating. They were about seven of them so I told him its very okay by me and I will also pay for everyone sitting with him. Then he prayed for me and told me he likes people like me because I am someone that will buy him a car as a gift some day and I tapped into that prophesy because this man has too much money. This is a man that carry's nothing less than 1million Cfa everyday just for people that will come and beg for money. People like me then that he gave 50k, you can imagine how many people came that day. From that very day I paid that bill I began to see something different in my life. First of all this was a chairman that when I see in church or cell meeting then they did not born me well to go close to him not to talk about shaking his hand. All I did then was after service I join his boys to queue so they can count me among those he is giving 1k. Now from the day I paid for his isi ewu when he saw me in church the first thing he did was stretch out his hand to shake me and I shook him with so much respect and loyalty. That was like a golden royal hand shake to me but many of you reading this might not understand why I am saying all this because you have no idea the kind of money I am saying this man has. You can just imagine a man who pastor Chris of Christ Embassy gave an award as number 40 or so highest donor worldwide for rhapsody or realities. The man is so blessed and has been a blessing to so many people including me that is writing this story. Aside owning the football club, the major business is this chairman does is clothing. He is a major importer of clothing from China and he also has many boys working under him. When most of his boys that I use to queue realized that I no longer come for the 1k anymore and also how the chairman and I now greet each other, some of them especially the ones that play football became to use Ronaldo to come close to me and that was how I was suddenly being addressed as chairman on another level lol.
All these happened within a space of four months of my stay in Togo and before I knew what was happening, from nowhere Ronaldo just got a good business contact in Ghana but being that he had no good idea of business he brought it to me and this was something that changed our lives completely in another direction. Even when Ronaldo held 1.2million cfa he could not believe it. I know you all will now be wondering what kind of business it is especially as I mentioned Ghana lol. Anyways it's not yahoo because I don't get involved in such, but however its something that now connected me to Ghana and the big China importers. I will be back to continue so please be patient with me because this typing with phone is not easy. Nice one bro am really getting something from this your story. taking a bold step in life, matters a lot, though it may not be easy in the first place, but you will learn n grow n be grateful u took such step, every disappointment is a blessing. |

2piK: You are quite right about the difficulty in getting professional jobs in Germany, but this is not a problem with Germany; it's a problem in every advanced economy. The system in these countries is to always protect the interest of their citizens (rightfully so in my opinion), it's in Nigeria that foreigners would come into the country as expatriates and enjoy the quality of life that its citizens cannot enjoy.
Now you won't like the next few paragraphs. You are entitled. Germany never asked you to come and neither were you promised a job on completion of your studies. You made the decision to integrate yourself into it's society. Have you ever considered that a country like Germany that offers tuition free studies up to PhD level will not have shortage of skilled talents to choose from? So why should you be picked over other talents available? Because you have a masters degree? Do you know how many people have the same masters degree? Or even higher qualifications?
Advanced societies are selfish and only care about integrating the best foreign talents into their societies. So invest in yourself and make yourself stand out. Before you try to make excuses, i will briefly share my personal story and hopefully it will help reinforce believe in yourself and know that you can do it. I was your age when i came to the UK for studies, having no one except God as my friend and family. I discovered quickly that this place called the United Kingdom is a battle ground and i have my work cut-out for me if i am going to make success of it (i won't bother giving examples of what i experienced that informed this thinking as i think it's irrelevant to key points in your post).
During my studies, i did cleaning, support work, care work, kitchen staff (i did any kind of menial job to survive) and i always had a smile on my face because my life was better than when i used to hawk in Nigeria. However, I didn't get discouraged and i completed my bachelors as the best graduating student for my cohort. Based on this, I was lucky to get part scholarship from the University to do my masters which i completed in flying colours. Then the UK had a post-study visa for 2 years, got a job as a software developer with this PSW visa. When my 2 year visa was about to run out my company sponsored me and I got a work visa for 5 years.
Fast forward to the present, i have completed a bachelors, 2 masters and almost a PhD (in my 5th year of my part time PhD programme), I am now a British citizen with qualitative and extensive work experience spanning several EU countries (which incidentally includes Germany, I worked in Berlin for eight months, staying at the Westin Grand at the expense of my employers) and am now a software architect consulting for companies with the remit of providing technical guidance to their software development teams. Even during my work, I continued investing in myself, hence the other masters and my PhD (despite now having my own family).
Do you know how i got Software development experience in the UK? Before coming here, I had 5 years working as a programmer, on arrival here I knew between classes and doing all sorts of menial jobs; i wouldn't have the time to explore volunteer opportunities. So what did i do? I was going round all local businesses (when i had free time between classes) around the university introducing myself. I explained who i was, what i was doing here and how i can help their businesses. Most of them, told me to jog on (which is British slang for f*** off) in the most polite way possible. So in my first year, no one offered me nothing. But in my second year of my studies, I got lucky there was this care agency that got tired of seeing my face, gave in and asked me to build them an application for managing their staff rota (till today i don't know if they requested this because they thought i won't be motivated to do it for free or even be able to deliver it).
I gave it my best effort, spoke to my course advisor at the university about the project. She was impressed and helped me massively. She designed sprints for me in which i completed specific features each sprint. She helped with testing the software, she wanted me to succeed, I owe her everything. The agency liked it and i got other jobs through them (this was 100% free, i never got paid any money for this project). By the time i finished my degree i had done about 5 of such free projects (now i have a portfolio of my work).
Do you know how i got my first professional job? I will tell you. I was doing a cleaning job in my university, i had a floor i cleaned every morning before going to class, my floor had about 20 offices or maybe more...can't really remember the exact number. There was a particular office that i hated cleaning, it was always messy and took me lots of time to clean (time that i did not have). Typically i finish my shift before the lecturers come in, but on this particular day, i was cleaning this useless office and the professor came in before i had finished. I greeted him like he was my creator and apologised for not finishing his office on time (even though he was the one who came early). The bastard just nodded and didn't even say a word to me.
I didn't know that moment was when my life would change. 2 weeks later i attended a seminar in the University and this bastard professor was one of the speakers! Next morning when i got to his office to clean, he was already there. I was taken aback and before i could say anything he asked if i was at his seminar the day before, i answered in the affirmative. We got talking, he told me a bit about himself and his research interest (the focus of the seminar) and he got to know i could write software. He said they needed a software intern that could do some work for the research group. I didn't even think, I said yes and that was "my first unofficial professional job", working for his research group. Bye bye cleaning job.
When i finished my bachelors degree, the research group recommended me to one of their industry partners. My interview revolved around discussing my portfolio (the free job i did for the care agency and the systems research group). I got the job and that was my "first proper official professional job" and I gave it my all. 4 months before my post-study work visa finished the company sponsored me for my 5 year work visa, my parents were crying when i told them over the phone. I will be honest and say that i was underpaid during the period i was on the sponsorship visa, other colleagues with same level of experience or even less were earning double what i was earning...but i kept telling myself, this will not be forever. But when i got my citizenship, it's like i was launched into a new world. I left the company and got a job with a Swedish company in UK that paid me a fortune compared to my previous salary. Not just that, by virtue of being an EU citizen 27 countries became open to me where i could go work and i took advantage of these benefits.
So you see, it can be done. Was it easy? Not at all, i went through hell. But i knew what i wanted for my life, had a plan and worked extremely hard and while i might not be rich, I think i have managed to achieve some of my dreams. You are still young brother, at your age i didn't have what you had. You CAN definitely do this.
So what is my advice? Moving countries is not always the solution at times. If you haven't sorted out your approach and self-belief, regardless of wherever you go; you'll have the same problems. Also, whatever you do, get a second nationality before you return to Nigeria as that alone will open untold doors for you in future, even if things don't go to plan in Nigeria you know you can always activate plan b (second nationality). Start networking and investing in yourself, it won't yield fruits immediately but don't be discouraged, eventually your hardwork will pay off. The truth is advanced societies don't care about the colour of your skin all they care about is that you have something that they need! Make yourself that which they need!!
And when your situation improves and feel like you have achieved some of your dreams. Start investing in Nigeria. The country doesn't need more job seekers. It needs entrepreneurs. This is my story, I hope it motivates you to be strong. God bless u, for this good write up of urs, please I too have great decision to make now and it's all about moving to abroad, I have started d process but as a human fear of unknown do grip me, please kindly reply my PM as I have sent you a pm, let me have a talk with you, thanks |

icedbreez: Take this advice bro...there are opportunities in naija. was doing a job I felt was beneath me abroad. everybody discouraged me from coming back. my african colleagues were feeling untop of the world with the job we were doing working 4Amazon but deep within me I kneew I deserve better...I clenched my teeth and returned to mockery but within 4 months God picked up my call and I'm kinda balling right now. people talking smack about naija are mostly people who have not travelled out and experience the discrimination disrespect associated with being in a foreign land. I came back with an idea for a startup but an international organisation grab me and is refusing to let go...me now telling HR I can't stay much longer because I need to focus on my dream company. for oyibo land who born me to reject offer? Oga!! u really said well, but do you know, if you had not been outside the country, d international firm wouldn't have picked you, again d business idea you got and intended to establish it, is because you traveled and was exposed to get the idea. we all know abroad is not easy, but one have to believe that ideas and connections are easy to get outside the country, which you can equally use back home if you wish to establish yourself here. |

I need a country rich and industralized with abundant jobs not a racist east European country Oga you open mouth and called Poland and Portugal poor country, you amuse me, those countries are far better than Nigeria, bro try and research OK, don't go and join millions of people in Germany to struggle due to much hype been given to Germany, Poland is just few hours by train to berlin, if you really want to have dealings in Germany, I rest my case. |

Goztino: Good day ladies and gentlemen. I am about to take a very big risk this year. I am a graduate of Geology, from a poor family and managed to raise money to start a business last year.
Now I plan to sell everything I have and go for my MSc in Germany this year and intend selling all my goods and even borrow about 1.8million to Complete the needed money, over 4million needed for my studies
NOW MY CONCERN According to German policy, you are given 18 months to get a job related to your course or return back to your country. Because of the huge amount needed, returning to Nigeria after Msc is never an option because there are almost no jobs here. So I ask, what other options can someone use to stay back legally in Germany after Msc?
I heard one can apply for permanent residency after living legally in Germany for 5yrs. After MSc, can I apply for PhD and then during the course of my PhD program, I will complete 5years in Germany and probably apply for permanent residency even before finishing my PhD program?
I am the one sponsoring myself and really wanna think ahead. I will appreciate those that studied in Germany to advise me appropriately First I want to say kudos to you, cos you're thinking right. yes Germany is a good country with opportunities, But I Want to suggest to you, why don't you look at other European countries like Portugal or Poland, were tuition fee is cheap and getting permanent residence is more easier. with 2.2m u can get good school in Portugal n the good part of it is that Portugal schools allows you to pay 10 instalments of your tuition, please try n make research, for Poland as you are working and studying, during summer break you can travel to US and work for 3month and know it that having a US stamp on your passport is like opening doors for you to be entering countries, am a fellow youth like you n hustling at the same time, so you can move with your 2.2m without borrowing additional 1.8m ok make research on all I have said, bless up bro |
