Travel › Re: Travelling To Germany Via Portugal by charles2468(m): 4:44pm On Feb 24, 2019 |
Iammercy2018: I live in Portugal.
If you get a direct Portugal Visa you can't move to any Schengen countries, but if you got a Schengen visa through the Portuguese embassy.
First you'll have to travel to Portugal first before moving to any other Schengen country. Once you arrive Portugal, lodge in an hotel for a day or two, then you can move to Germany, much comfortable way is by using the train, this way there will be just one immigration officer or none at all stopping you. I once travelled to Spain Madrid to renew my int'l passport which as expired and also my expired Portuguese residential card, I was stopped just after I got off the train by some police officers, they checked my card and passport both expired, I told them am going to the Nigeria embassy to renew my passport (which was the truth) and then return to Portugal, they called some ppl, don't have a clue who they were, and after they allowed me to go even with no Visa or valid docs
But if you move directly to Germany without arriving the country that granted you the Visa, sorry you'll be sent back home
Moving to any other Schengen country is visa free and much easier by train.
Why I said easier is because you won't encounter much immigration officers unlike at the airport with too much questions.
Pardon my mistakes, am writing with haste, I've got somewhere to go.
I hope this helps a little. Thank you dear for this update. please I had intention of coming to Portugal to study on msc, please I can I have your watsapp no or email or LinkedIn name, so that I can relate my questions to you personally thanks. |

Xadeeq: Hey!
If I were in your shoes, I would apply for both 1st Degree and (Integrated Masters or a Masters Degree). You may want to look for the meaning of Integrated Masters Degree here in Portugal. To the best of my knowledge, It is not a full masters degree, but certainly not an undergraduate degree either. I don't really know much about it... look it up and get more details. It could be a worthy option.
Let me start by telling you that . PLEASE, PLEASE and PLEASE, be very SURE to have very good back-ups in terms of FUNDS that would last you for at least 1 year before you step out of Nigeria oo. or better, you have very good cash in-flow that would support your stay here. Even though, Portugal is one of the least expensive places to live (a relatively good/decent European life style), yet, it is getting expensive by the day because lots of Europeans and other nationals are falling in love with her major cites by the day, so things and house rents are getting "crazily" expensive.
Further Education is great, and it gives you a chance to get good jobs. The Educational system here is quite rigorous, be sure you'd work seriously. As a matter of fact, I am in school right now, writing this reply because I need to study; but I have a take the time-out to address these matters - important life decisions for you. See me oo, because of the serious academic tasks here, I have been procrastinating writing a blog-post on studying in Portugal, especially for Nigerians on the ordeals I and many others faced during our time applying for admission and visas. Maybe somedays... I'll get to write it.
A little good news is (if it's anything to go by), once you are done with your studies and you get a job, settling down here might be fairly easy and it was encouraged by the Mayor of Lisbon himself whilst welcoming International Students in the City Hall last November.
To precisely answer your questions:
1. Apply to about 6 schools (Yes! Six!! You are the one desperate to further your studies abroad and You are the one with an HND (No hard feelings. Even me sef with B.Tech did the same). So the "lesser-in-weight you think your credentials might be, the more schools you have to apply to, in order to increase your chances, considerably. (You asked for the truth brother [abi Sister], there it is).
2. There is a huge cost implication. Most schools will ask for application fees per submission - ranging from 50 Euros to 200 Euros (Even though, I did not pay application fees for my school, during my time, but they have introduced it now). SO PLEASE BE AWARE
3. Like I tell most people who ask me about studying in Portugal GENERALLY, I tell them that google is our friend. She knows everything! Just know how to ask and ask. However, if you are really asking for specifics, then I would know that you have done your homework and you just need a few help, not the whole of my time. So, just so we're clear. I am not an agent, so I won't do the work for you sir/ma. But if you have done your research and feel hooked, I'd be more than happy to help if its within my reach.
4. That said, the best way to get information from each school is to email them. Send them an email and follow up with phone calls if you could. Whilst I was in Nigeria, I would exhaust my phone credit almost every day and turn to the office phone when I am desperate to get information. I am not saying you should do this, but do everything lawfully possible to get their attention. They are paid in their international Offices in these schools to answer our requests.
5. Lest I forget, the best time to apply to most universities in Portugal, and by extension, Europe is now!. So, start applying...
6. Sadeeq, calm down a bit, tell us about your school: Okay! I know about my school very well because I had offer in 2016 and I couldn't go, and couldn't differ. Actually, I applied to four (4) courses and I got interviewed for the 4 of them, I picked the one I liked the most then. But I couldn't go.
Fast forward 2017, I applied again and I was given an offer. This time, I knew I had to go, and here I am. Morale is: Know when it is best for you and do everything in your power to see it through.
7. Yes! I remember, there are PostGraduate/Certificate Programs in my school too (1 year) and you should be good enough to use it to enter the Masters Course (Please, again, call/write the school to verify)... If you read through the thread, you will know my school. Ha ha!!
Finally, if per-adventure my blog post comes out, you may not bother to read it, 'cos it would be a waste of your extra time, it would be virtually everything I have said here. Just that I would add some fancy pictures to make it a little bit live-lier.
I may get periodic responses via email notifications for your replies here, so bear with me if I don't reply immediately. However, If you don't find me on that blue bird application @xurdeeq, then I am on Linkedin.
Even you sef know that I have said (or written) enough. Lemme come and be going. I have to finish this Chapter on R Data Science Programming before earning the right to go and the see Black Panther tonight. Yes!! I have not watched it
Beyond the strictness in my reply (yes, the truth has to be told without looking Uche Face) and the jokes btw, I wish you the very best in your pursuit, and God spare our lives in good health, I cannot wait to have more Nigerians join us here in Lisbon come September (or November last last sha... depending on how lucky you are with the Embassy (a talk for another day))
Best Regards. Boss I greet you please can I have your email address or LinkedIn name or WATS app no, please I really need your help on Portugal schools. thanks |

asuustrike1: Please I need info from members of apostilc faith only should any see this. My questions are 1.Do apostolic faith celebrate Christmas? 2. I learnt their mode of worship is orchestra is this happening now? 3. I learnt their founder was a white lady is it true? 4. Is it true that pastor Kumuyi was a member of that church? 5. Is it true that they share some doctrines with some holiness churches such no wearing of ear rings, makeup, no wearing of weavon among others? Hello!! there, please apostolic faith believes in Jesus Christ, his birth, death and resurrection and his coming as well, so we join other Christians to celebrate Christmas regarding his birth OK. 2- when you said mode of worship is orchestra you are wrong, I wrote something up there, every Sunday we do have a topic of Sunday school we share ideas on, listen to music from our choir and orchestra, sing hymes, listen to sermon and talk to God, that's our mode of worship every Sunday. 3-Yes!! a white lady from Portland Oregon, was the founder in early 19th century, when their was down pour of latter rain at Asuzu street. she was among those that partake n was filled with God's spirit to work for him. 4-Yes!! pastor Kumuyi is one of us, he is one of our ministers, during the administration of our late overseer Bro T.G Oshokoya at Lagos been the headquarters. 5-yes!! Apostolic faith church and deeper life share some similarities, yes, we believe natural beauty is the best and as well going along with God's commandments, Cos he said we are created in his own image, and after creation he turned and saw Wat he created n said it was perfect, so theirs no reason why our women won't maintain their God given natural hair, and start emulating the westerners in so called long hair with different colours, is not acceptable to us, like wise putting make up and earrings, but that doesn't mean a woman doesn't supposed to glomme her body with a good pomade that suits the skin and perfume, treat your hair and gloome it as well and style your hair in any form you like, look good and dress smart not exposing any part of your body in other to look sexy, showing boob's and booty, and in all make your self holy n trustworthy in all your doing. Hope I have answered your questions. Note- Am replying this in other to give clarification, not try to compare or contrast or have dialogue in any form. Again in all our services we encourage you attend with a modest dressing but as a a new comer your free to attend, that won't to be a hindrance OK. Bless up!! |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Is Apostolic Faith Church So Quiet Among The Pentecostal Churches? by charles2468(m): 6:35am On Dec 23, 2018 |
ChiEluse: If your product is good you should be able to advertise it, more so that it has to do with the salvation of souls. If you know that you have better things to offer than other churches you have mentioned then why not flood the media with advertisements. You have that instruction right inside the Bible you claim to be holding. I want to paste my comments on the other thread about this church here as some of the true reasons why you are quiet may be found there. " I dont know if this thread is meant to advertise the Apostolic Faith Church or not and as much as I am not out to criticize those that have painted a picture of perfection of the church, I saw some untruth and hypocrisy in the statements they gave. I know this church very well, and the fact is that they preach against going to the hospital or taking medication and up till now the doctrine is still being upheld, though we now have more and more of their members contravening that doctrine. Up till now their pregnant women are not expected to visit the hospital and they are made to deliver their babies at home or in the church. As a result many have lost their lives. It is regarded as sin for you to have TV at home, and before you are made an officer in the church it will be investigated if you have TV at home. If you do you can remain an ordinary member of the congregation for life. You cannot marry from outside the church, you are virtually excommunicated. The fact that some members of the church deny all these goes a long way to tell how secretive the church is. And am sure that doesnt portray holiness at all. I know about the case someone mentioned earlier of their pastor at akoko who impregnated a girl. There are cases of immorality like this in the church even up till now. A current wave also indicate two of their senior pastors (one in lagos and one in osun)scattering the marriage of their daughters. I think God wants us to preach the Gospel, to preach Christ, and not the church and the doctrines of men. The church is not perfect and in fact nowadays among the senior managers of the church are servants of the devil falsely calling themselves servants of God. They have an outward appearance of humility but in them are filthiness of dead men bones. We all need to turn back to God as the end time is very near, And mind you the Bible says judgement will start from the house of God. " Hello!! there, I just stumbled on this thread and I want to give more clarification on this quote, for those that might come across this, please n please the current apostolic faith church of to day, do go to hospital for Treatment or child bearing, no one is against any member for doing such, The church as well do go on media for publicity be it on TV or Radio, so no one is against anyone listening to radio or having Television in your house, Yes!! in terms of marriage the church encourages you marry your fellow Christian not a church goer, that's why it's encourage to marry whom you know been your brethren. yes!! not only AFC members will make heaven but be rest assured that a man will be judged based on the laws he knows n been giving to him, Many had came to apostolic faith church, hear the doctrine and they were gladen by it, while some came hear it and left because they can't keep the Bible doctrines Like marrying a second wife when the first is still alive and rest of it. In all our services we sing Hymes and listen good songs from our choir and orchestra, in all our churches world wide know collection plate is been passed around, like other churches do collections up-to three times b4 d church dismiss, but in all this the work of the Lord is moving very well by his grace, we do review a topic of Sunday school every sunday, listen to sermons at the end kneel down and talk to God, not generally say The grace prayers and every one left, again in all our services we don't gyrate in the church in the way of dancing, we are blessed with God's abundant blessings, so don't see us as Chaf, last two years or so former presidents olusegun obasanjo attended our Annual music concert at igbesa ogun state and he was very proud of us and happy. So please we anticipate you comes and observe and taste the undiluted word of God and be blessed. Thanks |
