holloziggi: Hw do I start counting d 15working days,is it from the day I submitted my application or d nxt day,I submitted it on 3/9/12,does 2day mk it 15days or monday? From official correspondence, your 15 working days starts from the very day you submitted. |
donlexs: Thank you very much. But this was the sms alert I received two days after submitting my application:" Visa application Ref. No. IKAB/120912/120049/1 has been dispatched to the British Deputy High Commission on 12/09/2012 for processing.. " I know its not yet up to 15days but the wait is killing me and this message keeps me confused. Any enlightenment would be appreciated.Simply means your application has been dispatched for processing. |
A friend of mine going to Coventry uni just landed there two days ago. He has finally gotten an accommodation. His accommodation is in an apartment of six en-suite rooms. He got one en-suite room at 425 pounds monthly (all bills inclusive). The other five rooms are also occupied by five Nigerian freshers (one per room). He is already having so much fun and has stocked his fridge to MAX and even planning more shopping on SAT. |
donlexs: Thank you very much Charles. I noticed that after I had posted the question. Really appreciate it. Just by the way,do you think Visas are processed in Lagos because the sms I got from VFS said my application has been forwarded to the British Deputy Commission for processing. I was of the view that processing is done at Abuja only. Thanks. Would be waiting to hear from you and the house. I applied at the Premium Lounge could it be the reason? Can't say for certain where Lagos Applications are processed but I believe Lagos should be processed in Lagos. Guess someone may choose to assist with the above question. |
donlexs: Hello,I submitted my application on the 12th at the Premium Lounge and they told me to check back in 15 days. How come your own is 8 days? Was there a special route you took? Please let me know coz my school resumes on the 26th and I would love to get my Visa before then.Sasundar applied in India Sir. |
Oyibopepper: I did follow your advice and they have updated my CAS. Thank you so much. I will keep you updated and please join me in praying that my visa comes out in 2 working days!!!!!!! LOLI thank GOD and I am glad I could help. Much cheers |
cosmatoz: My status changed to processed application in transit, and i paid for courier, please house @justwise how long does it take for courier to be delivered, i.e from abuja to Ph answer needed pleaseVFS Global uses United Postal Service (UPS) and they are known for efficency as a world renowed courier service. If they posted it today, you should get it tomorrow. Meaning it would take MAX 24 hours. |
Nbogu: Thanks charles,Yes you can. |
kingbilly: A friend is supposed to resume monday (17th) at the University of Wales but, his been delayed due to late payment of fees. The school as given him till 1st of October to resume.I have heard of that fast-track stuff. Agents do claim they can assist, but id advice u inquire at VFS. |
Oyibopepper: Hello guys. I think this forum is great. I desperately need your advice.i have paid my full tuition fees and was told it was short with about £700 pounds which I have paid but I'm still waiting for my CAS statement to be updated so it won't affect my visa application as I have only the maintenance funds in my account. Problem is, my CAS has not been updated and time is RUNNING Out. What do I do? Go ahead and submit visa application or wait? Please help with your advice and suggestions.Your school should update your CAS in 24 hrs or 48 hrs at most. Have you called them to confirm if they have received the £700 or you are just sitting and waiting and hope they do it automatically. Or did you mail them and hope they see your mail, atimes emails are not the best in urgent cases. ADVISE: CALL THEM. |
Nbogu: Charles, thanks a lot, u are always there for me. God bless u plenty.Amen. Well, Border Control may ask for anything. But very rarely would they ask you for prove of funds from the testimonies seen. As many nairalanders who have landed UK recently have testified, they were either asked for just their passport, some where only additionally asked the name of their school and course, none was asked for prove of funds. But you may choose to leave the remaining money in your account and hold like a 1000 pounds in cash as you travel. When you travel and have concluded with opening your UK Bank account, you can send a duly signed mandate via email to your bank in Nigeria with your UK bank details requesting they do a transfer. You may discuss this with your account officer before you leave so that your bank in Nigeria doesn't delay you with trying to authenticate your request et al |
richeyy: Peeps make una help me thank God ooo. I've just received my visa! Shoutout to every1 who contributed to the success of my application: Justwise, Donxavier, Futuredon, Adebee, Charles E, Ikcbn, Steph7... God bless you all plenty plenty.Congrats man. With GOD your success was certain. |
Nbogu: My people,Your mastercard would pay you in the local currency of the country you are in when u use the ATM. So you would sure get pounds if in UK. Charges are N1000 per foreign ATM withdrawal. But 100% FREE for direct POS (point of sale) payments. To get your money to your UK account, you can either initiate a foreign funds transfer via your internet banking if you use such service or depending on your family, you can leave the money with them and ask them to do a bank transfer for u after u get there and open a UK account. |
ikcbn: No my dear, i have my itinerary here wit me. Am gonna arrive Doha by 12:10am 23/09/12 and den depart for Manchester by 01:40am which means am jst gonna spend 1:30mins on transit.O cool then. Shalom. |
Charlesbro: My school latest start date on my CAS letter 24th Sept and my visa application is still at the British High Commission (I applied in time and it’s been with them for about 19 days now)You have nothing to worry about. You might get your sms this night or your status on the site might change before or by tomorrow. 24th is quite distant enough for you to meet up. And even if you happen to miss the first two days of orientation, its no biggie. |
ikcbn: Tank u all 4 d congratulatory messages, jst booked Quatar airways to Manchester on Saturday via Lagos.Manchester via Qatar from Lagos means you are willing to roam in Doha for 7hours in d name of transit BUT Qatar to Heathrow has far far less transit time, like an hour or an hour and a half at most. Issorai |
Charlesbro: I will call them 2moro ....Guess you applied in Lagos. Most of the peeps with delays are those that applied in Gidi |
Charlesbro: WOW! Congratulations! still waiting for my alert sms... its 18days now!SMS can delay atimes. What does your online tracking say? |
ikcbn: First, I must praise d name of The Almighty God who made it possible and a very big tank u 2 everyone on this thread who has in one way or the oda contributed and guid me all tru d visa app process. To crown it all, i write 2 inform u all dat i jst pick up my entry clearance and would definitely b heading 2 sheffield by weekend via manchester frm Lagos....08037951518 hook me up if u intend flying by weekend.Happy 4 u Ikcbn |
Estico: Thank you Charles.Normally, tenancy agreements should have a clause that allows you terminate the contract as long as you have not yet started living in it. You would be entitled to your money back if you cancel but in some cases you may be charged a penalty. Since you said the tenancy agreement is already prepared, you may wish to go through every dotted line, as the terms for cancellation should likely be stated therein. |
Estico: My 15 working days is on Tuesday 18th. I have not booked any flight. However, international orientation will start on Tuesday 18th. I am not happy that I will miss it.If the clearance comes out Thursday, u can fly out Friday, that means u wud book on thursday evening against Friday. Booking a flight takes just as long as it takes for u to pick ur flight and pay for it with ur card or bank transfer and this usually takes just minutes. |
cosmatoz: Have been the silent observer. This wait is killing me 11 working days now. @justwise my 15 working days should be up by thursday 20th of dis month and i booked a flight for 27 of this month because of my school start date hope Am in orderYou are totally in order kwo. |
FutureDon: Lol, not up to 7hours but I enjoyed every bit of it, cos I wasn't alone.Good you were with someone. All same, its boring except you paid to enter the Onyx Business class lounge, that's if you flew economy. If it wasn't up to 7 hours then must have been 6hrs +. Nothing less. |
FutureDon: I went with Qatar Airways (LOS-DOH-MAN).The means you used is a suffer suffer connection, cos for certain, you spent 7 hours in transit waiting in DOHA for your Manchester bound flight. |
boko_halal: To Master JustWise, DonXavier, Dharkchild, Kunlewoye, FutureDon, Charles E and other screen names I can't recall, I'm short of words to say thank you o. I have never experienced the kind of peace I enjoyed on this thread on NL.I felt so elated reading your message above. GOD bless you. Happy for you. Safe Journey. |

A-ZeD:Guess you can testify |
A-ZeD:Need to see black population? Visit Coventry Uni, their students have testified that Nigerians make up 90% of the students there. |
Adiahabasi: Pls who is sure of any bank in Lagos that does BTA?I don waka tire,GTB says they@ve stoppedVisit Aboki and get small Pounds. Put the rest cash in your GTB Master NairaCard account or your Visa/Mastercard from any other bank and you good to go. |
Tjluv: Today is the 18th working day since I submitted my visa application, no sms yet and the tracker still shows that my application has been forwarded to BHC. Can someone please help with any number to call? Thanks.Don't sweat it except your orientation is starting this week. You would sure get your visa. Also to note, most orientations are starting from the 24th so depends where you fall, just be calm. Feel Free to call but don't panic cos it changes nothing. |
