bravoluv83:Oga Dasun was everyone's nightmare! The guy gave many of us PTSD ![]() My own experience was fun. But between the food and Dasun, I don't know which one terrified me the most ![]() The highlight of the experience for me was seeing all the officers that were our camp officials...those guys were so packard. There was one major that looked like buttermilk. So finnnneee. ALL of them looked sooo gooood. I was so inspired seeing their shining boots and neat, crisp uniforms. ALL the officers I met there were very intelligent. Fast thinkers and insightful gentlemen, and ladies. It was hard to imagine that years ago, they were also candidates with their blue and white, sitting on sharp stones under the scorching sun. There was a LT, I think LT Eche, that would always regale us with tales of his experiences in the North East. He absolutely DID NOT spare us the gory details. It was exciting for me, and I simply look forward to taking out the bad guys. Another fun part was when one Major was teaching us songs at the mess (cannot remember his name). He taught us one song about donating our sister's and girlfriends to him I think he called it baptism ![]() The worst part of it for me was the morning that we came out late. Omor SSgt Femi that woke us up on our first morning was no longer in camp by our second morning, and without our phones it was hard to wake in time...especially given the fact that bed time was no earlier than 1am On that second morning, we all came out late. Parade state was supposed to be by 4:30am, but we came out by past 5am. Capt Eyamba, our commandant punished us and told us to squat. Then oga DASUNNNN came and added to the punishment. We were asked to frog jump from the parade ground to the mess for breakfast. Most of us were going for medicals that morning, and we couldn't feel our legs after frog jumping like that. Despite the discomfort, my heart felt right at home there. During the medicals, the Col in charge of the medical board was firm, but at the same time, he was really kind and approachable. He didn't want us sitting under the sun, just so our blood pressure wouldn't be spiked unnecessarily. A lot of things screened many candidates out during the medical screening. From bad dentition to high blood pressure, poor eyesight, knocked knees, height, underweight BMI, bad ECG result, pile, hepatitis and many others. My candid advice to anyone is that if you're interested in the army, you must do a thorough medical check up before going. It will be much better to get yourself checked at a military medical facility, just so you can start working on yourself before the actual screening. On the night before the day they announced the results, everyone was asked to pack ALL their belongings to the parade ground, just so if you're screened out, you'll just be going home from there. We were also asked to assemble by 3am, but many of us were out already by 2:30am. The atmosphere was thick with tension. Many people started praying that morning. FInally by 8am, the board president addressed us before the weeding commenced. It was a bitter sweet experience to be separated from the friends that were made in camp during the previous days. The people that passed both the credential and medical screening were then asked to go back inside to drop their belongings before the 3.2km race, while the people that didn't pass were given breakfast, individually told the reasons for their disqualification, given their belongings that they submitted upon arrival the first day, and then sent home. In all, it was exciting and adventurous for me. If the outcome of my SSC 48 Screening turns out to be unfavourable, I will definitely try again for DSSC 29. Thanks for reading. |
The list is out!!! Congratulations to all successful applicants😊 |

maik99:That's new then. Before now they used to have reserves |
iamscope:I believe so. Read through the instructions again carefully. And even if it's not stated, try to still get the passports just in case. |
maik99:They do. But mostly just one person or two people on the reserve list per state. |
iamscope:If you read two or threads before this, you'd discover that some people that registered very early were allocated Abakaliki as their exam centers. It is not news that candidates would write exams during screening. In the past however, the army scheduled pre-screening examinations. When they did this, they announced it in those ads for those years, and candidates wrote CBT exams at various centers across the country before they proceeded for the physical screening at a designated venue. The point is whether or not they announce an examination, there must be one, either before or during the screening. This time around tho, it MIGHT be during the screening as there was no mention of a pre-screening examination in the ad. (This doesn't completely erase the possibility of a pre-screening exam as the army can be unpredictable) As for the Abakaliki exam center, it could be one of two things.... either it was a system glitch for people that registered early, or Abakaliki has been selected as the screening venue. Either way, don't assume. Keep your ears and eyes open for official updates and information from the Nigerian army. T for thanks |
Charrliie:Either your spam or your junk folder |
horla10:Have you checked your spam for the verification link? |
MrGood70:I really don't know about this. You know how the army can be very strict with protocols. That might be largely dependent on how flexible they want to be with the screening procedure time around |
MUTERIKA:Hi. Please check your email. |
godwinngbede:During Screening for SSC and DSSC, applicants usually write a physical exam at the screening venue. However SSC 47/DSSC 26 wrote a pre- screening examination in 2020 and it was computer based. A list was published after the initial registration for the exams. After the exams, a second list was published for screening. For this year though, it was not stated in the ad that there would be a pre-screening examination. This doesn't really mean that there won't be any, as the army can be unpredictable in their selection process. So, keep your eyes and ears open. If there's going to be a pre- screening examination, they'd announce it. If there won't be any, you will still be expected to write an exam during the screening. |
MUTERIKA:We're you asked for your NIN after creating the profile? If yes, you might not be able to proceed because it appears that your NIN details are visible to the application website. If you're DOB doesn't fall within the required age bracket, the system won't let you proceed. |
Huseein12:Are you very sure about this? Did you use your phone or a computer to apply? Cuz from what I've observed, everybody that has applied so far has gotten Abakaliki as their exam center. Try scrolling down to the very last page on your photocard and you should see an exam center |
Kolapousman03:Please was there a provision to upload more than one WAEC result? Like for candidates that have two sittings in WAEC... |
MUTERIKA:When you see not permitted, do you also see a log in icon? If yes, try clicking on it |
Kolapousman03:So does this mean that they may likely do pre screening exams? |
AliEsq:Most likely your age doesn't match the requirements |
Please has anyone successfully registered? |
MUTERIKA:I wish you all the best |
MUTERIKA:It's probably an internal error from their end. Just give it some more time and try again. |
MUTERIKA:Did they request for your NIN? At what point were you restricted from proceeding? |

Dannyhonda:Okay. Thank you very much for clarity on that🙏🙏 |
So there's something I'm really curious about. I've seen a few posts on here emphasising that you must have a godfather to get shortlisted. I'd really like to know if they don't shortlist based on merit anymore? Does this imply that people who are qualified 101% do not stand a chance if they don't have a godfather? Does this mean that no single person in the last 5-10 years has gotten successful with the army based purely on merit? Please I'm genuinely curious and I'd like an answer🙏 |

My own question is about the clause in the application instructions that states that applicants must submit a letter of Attestation from their former institutions....what institution are they referring to please? is it the university attended or the institution we currently work for or any institution we have previous affiliations with such as secondary/primary schools attended....or could it be a religious institution? Please someone with an idea should kindly clarify. thanks. |
