America has New York; a global hub of businesses. It's not out of place that Nigeria has a similar hub of businesses as Lagos. It's same for most countries today, that doesn't make,the governors of those states any way better than other less corporate States. It's even a privilege for Tinubu, that he served as governor of Lagos State, not the other way round.
Lagos is a historic function of political, corporate, entertainment activities and events with memories that connote neutrality. It is foolish to give tribal credits to any groups for any reason. The choas, tilts and curves of the city is defined by diversity, irrespective of excessive extortions from residents by State owned bodies with a pathetic sense of entitlement , businesses still thrive by stronger resolves to succeed.

I'm simply saying Lagos state is a function of collaborative efforts of diverse inputs from different ethnicities. If I were to give credits, I'll put Lateef Jakande at the top of the list.
But it's crazy how people are fast to remember those who put them in bondage with a pot of porridge, than the man who offers them freedom to play in a green field of orchards and make for themselves the best quality of juices, as life permits.
It's needless for Yorubas to keep emphasizing ownership of Lagos in every conversation. Last I checked, they're the only tribe that has the undocumented, but valid license to stage road blockades and throw huge parties, blasting fuji sounds to the heavens.
This could be a pain in it's own, but I can't deny the fact that we've come to relish the combination of most of these experiences put together.
Yorubas are a wonderful breed. I miss them whenever I'm out of their space. Same for the Hausas. The Igbos give me a surge in my blood to work harder and not give excuses. The Southerners, (Niger Deltas), inspires me on the need to reflect hospitality and acceptability..

I think its painful whenever we emphasize on tribal weaknesses. It doesnt help any of us at the end of the day.
This will be my last post to spite any tribe in Nigeria. Tribalism hurts our growth and can poison the future of kids unborn.

Irrespective. The truth is that Lagos in 2022 is not the same as colony of lagos or lagos state of 1967. In fact the greatest run of development took place from 1999 and for those first 8 years the FGN ran lagos down by withholding its statutory revenue allocation and running down federal infrastructure. ( stadium, airport and secretariat but to name a few) Modern lagos was designed and run by the AD and later APC. Growth of lagos IGR owed more to ingenuity and innovation than Federal contribution or anyone else. It was this government that built the competitive, excellence first all comers lagos you are all enjoying today. When lagos was still a colony, no non Saro, or Portuguese- Brazilian could be influential. I have lived in lagos since 1962 so I know what I am talking about.

And lagos is not done yet. Watch over the next five years as it achieved city state status globally.

No one is saying it was not federal capital ( which incidentally was bombed severally by the biafran airforce during the war) but nobody can say truthfully that the AD and APC did not develop lagos into what it is today - 5th largest economy in Africa.
