Yet you haven't answered the questions. How is obi desperate? Is he as desperate as the man who said it is his turn to be president? Is there any constitutional provision for anybodys turn? His experience as VP provided him with a lot of insight about governing nigeria much more than any other candidate. Since leaving office and contestng for office of president several times, he knows what to say on almost any issue. My problem with him is will he deal with nepotism, corruption and cut cost of governance? |

jbadmus: Again, here he comes; oozing out the odour of arrogance! Now let's talk to the issues you mentioned.I won't come down to your level using uncouth language. Please, get that right!
All the leading candidates have all you mentioned. They have been to campaign grounds and have spoken to people. They have been interviewed by either CNN or BBC before now, and they have track records. However, they are still availing themselves to answer everyday questions.
That being said, CHATAM House has also invited the other three leading candidates, and that does not prevent them from making themselves available for debate. Please, get it right, what happened in CHATAM House when Tinubu went there remains an embarrassment!
Nigerians want a president who will not see himself a BIG MAN. After all, Tinubu is a job applicant for this position. If not, why is he begging Nigerians to vote for him? If Tinubu, a job applicant I repeat , for this position cannot attend an unbiased debate organized by Channels TV, then Nigerians should know he does not deserve their votes. Yes, many will understand that he has issues with Arise TV. What about Channels TV? What about the one organized in NTA by Kadaria Ahmed media?
I have no doubt that when majority of Nigerians become very educated, enlightened, and get the necessary exposure, their leaders will never take them for granted again! Not even a state governor will come out and brag that they will 'deliver their states', making it seem that the indigenes of the states have no brain on their own to think and take decisions! Well said. Very well said. Unfortunately, the mentality of some of these urchins is that Tinubu is doing Nigerians a favour and not the other way round |

obembet: The greatest player of all time, Ronaldo sends message after Portugal's World Cup exit: Cristiano Ronaldo on IG: “I fought hard for this dream, I gave it my all. I just want to tell you all that much has been said, written and speculated but my dedication to Portugal has not changed. I would never turn my back on my country
CRISTIANO RONALDO posted an emotional statement after his “biggest and most ambitious dream” of winning a World Cup ended.
The 37-year-old could not inspire Portugal to quarter-final victory off the bench against Morocco.
He was in tears as he made his way down the tunnel after losing 1-0 to Morocco in the quarter-finals.
And he wrote on Instagram: “Winning a World Cup for Portugal was the biggest and most ambitious dream of my career.
“Fortunately, I won many titles of international dimension, including for Portugal, but putting the name of our country on the highest level in the world was my biggest dream.
“I fought for it. I fought hard for this dream. In the 5 presences that I scored in World Cups over 16 years, always alongside great players and supported by millions of Portuguese people, I gave my all.
“I left everything on the field. I never turned my face to the fight and I never gave up on that dream.
“Unfortunately, yesterday the dream ended. It is not worth reacting hot.
“I just want everyone to know that much has been said, much has been written, much has been speculated, but my dedication to Portugal has not changed for an instant.
“I was always one more person fighting for everyone’s goal and I would never turn my back on my teammates and my country.
“For now, there’s not much more to say. Thank you, Portugal. Thank you, Qatar. The dream was beautiful while it lasted… Now, it’s time to be a good advisor and allow each one to draw their own conclusions.”

You did well. Now rest. You made a wrong move of going to Piers Morgan. Man Utd's eternal rival's fan? Common... I love your second sentence. Everything Ronaldo thinks about is Ronaldo. Imagine a captain running away to the dressing room after a loss and leaving his players on the pitch. As captain he ought to have been the last man to leave pitch after consoling his players and leading them to thank the fans |

Raheeqilmaktoom: 1. What's the name of something you keep on paying year on year which keeps on increasing and whose value does not show while at the same time stoping you from making inroads in other things?
2. None, according to public sources.
3. PIA was meant to spur investments by especially the private sector (the driver's of the economy), waiting for govt to do something in Nigeria is going to take you forever.
E.g the dangote refinery, at a cost of $25b, I doubt if it will ever be done by a Nigerian govt. Don't forget that in just around 2012 when the idea was first mooted, cost was placed around $12b, it ballooned to the current value requiring model thinking in financing and partnerships. No business will invest money and be told to produce and sell below the ideal market price.
Give the private sector the room to invest their money, regulate, collect taxes and royalties. The question is "who" and not "what". Does subsidy pay itself? 1. Who made fuel subsidy a drain pipe? 2. So you mean there's no percentage of subsidy and there's no subsidy left to be removed? You are answering the question of "what". Will PIA run itself by itself? 3. This is what I asked...Who is going to increase investments in upstream and downstream? Is lack of money the reason for the lack of investments? |

Politics › Re: Oil Marketers Abandon Scheme To Break Subsidy Regime by CheapHomes1: 5:08pm On Dec 11, 2022 |
Raheeqilmaktoom: 1. It's literally a drain pipe, govt pays subsidy every year in trillions of naira and the populace still end up not having access to that subsidized oil. The opportunity cost of subsidy is investments in other sectors of the economy and social well being of the people, we end up not having a robust economy and oil at rates that are almost prohibitive plus the scarcity.
2. Payment govt makes to offset difference in price between cost of buying and selling of oil in the country.
3. Removing govt inefficient control will automatically resolve in more investments (provided issues like security are taken care of), private sector people will pour in money in the sector (because it's going to bring more money) unlike this case of playing the ostrich.
This country is being run like a charity leading more scarcity of resources. 1. Who made fuel subsidy a drain pipe? 2. Good. So what percentage of the subsidy has been removed so far and how much is left to be removed? 3. That's not what I asked. This is what I asked...Who is going to increase investments in upstream and downstream? Is lack of money the reason for the lack of investments? |
