kalohenic: Good day house.
This is my first post here, I have tried to read through earlier pages of this thread, you'll have been doing a great job here.
I need clarification to ascertain if I can apply for EE. Below is my profile:
I am 29 years old and single
I recently got study permit for a two years master's program (Control Systems) at University of Alberta in Canada to commence 5th of September 2017.
I am currently working in a multinational manufacturing company here in Nigeria and recently got an outstanding appraisal report that sees my pay upto NGN 550K monthly.
I have four years experience in the field of Control Systems (Automation Engineer and Instrumentation Engineer in two household name multinational firms).
If I go for the masters I would sponsor myself, and the cost is quite high. But with a PR the cost would drastically reduce.
Now the questions:
Is it possible to start the application for EE entry while I am already in Canada? (As I plan to get my transcript sent to WES before leaving for the masters program)
would you advise based on the experience of those already in Canada, I quit my job for the masters with the hope of securing a PR and good job over there? Firstly I think you should not go for msc this year, if you will go to canny at all, defer the masters, apply for EE and you can later do masters as a PR which would be easier and cheaper. As to whether you can get a job better than what you have in naija over there I can't say, specially considering it's ICT we hear is very hot and in high demand there, and based on information I have from my ppl in canny, your job here is quite good enough and it may not be worth it dumping it to go to canny, except offcos you have other issues that make you wanna leave the job. However, other ppl already in canny can give more advise as per leaving your job and getting another over there. |

db23: Hello house. Thanks for all the advice, I've been reading through several pages.
I have an urgent question please.
I have received an ITA, and filling my application while cross-checking my previous Canadian application for my current visa, I realised that for the question "Have you been refused... visa from Canada or any other country...", I filled no previously (a serious oversight as I must have assumed they meant Canada only). The truth is I was refused UK visa a couple of times in the past, but have been granted said visa a couple of times since.
Do I reveal this in my e-APR application, and if so, how can I go about this so as not to get a refusal or worse, a ban for misrepresentation?
Please help! Any advice is appreciated They won't penalize you for been refused a UK visa before(or any other country at that), what they'll penalize you for is if you hide it and let them find it out themselves (which they will). Hope you understand now? |

MsFaith: I don't understand those who set those renewable energy questions o. Are biofuels renewable energy ?. I didn't even read anything on bio. Biofuels are non renewable energies Now I'm doubting if you know anything about renewable energy, you too emasel. some ppl think renewable is just solar(photovoltaic) and wind. But what is my concern |
Education › Re: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by cheapphones: 8:26pm On Jul 08, 2017 |
guiddoti: yeah bro. They always think renewable energy is mainly biofuel. They never know world has gone beyond one source of energy. Y'all should not annoy me abeg, did you even read through the sections they had under the renewable group? Did you notice there was a section strictly Photovoltaic, there was another on CSP( also solar) I'm sure of these 2, there was geothermal I think and many others I can't remember now, i'm just thinking they concentrated the one they named 'renewable energy engineering' on bioethanol and biodiesel because the others were already well represented. It wasn't a perfect grouping however but I'm amazed y'all are saying renewable was only biofuels. The only thing I can say is; since they broke the renewable group to sections, they shouldn't have called a section of it renewable energy engineering again ,making us expect it to be all encompassing. But what I don't agree with is saying, they think renewable is only biofuel, not everything you want to yab Nigeria with abeg. |

Y'all should stop derailing this thread, theory and real life are 2 different things entirely. Ppl should learn to accept that and move on.. You guys can slide into each others dm and stop distracting us from the aim of the thread. |

I'm just soo angry right now and understand why some ppl treat us Nigerian graduates the way they do. I don't have time to talk plenty but take it or leave it every stage of this recruitment so far is legit and whatever mail you get is final, whatever calculation you're predicting isn't true. Get information and facts from real life happenings before you come and be saying you think. shell isn't the first coy to outsource some part of their assessment, it's very very normal, it doesn't make any mail coming from the third party assessor less accurate. And the guy saying sth about 2-5 years independent whatever, you need to ask whoever told you that if he passed thru Shell, the oil coy or some shell palm oil company. Keep waiting for shell Nigeria to send you one thing, don't be surprised if the only thing that takes place in Nigeria is medicals as far as this recruitment is concerned. Y'all should coman quote me I'm not gonna reply anyone. I just wish ppl will try to get facts right and say reasonable stuffs like the graduates that we are rather than come to a public forum and say just whatever crosses your mind. |

40manlappy: E-family, we got "medical passed" today! That's like 62 days post-AOR.
May God crown our efforts with success
@Beem4cupid, Gquest, boldinc, Ehrnie, any updates? Congratulations, I'm so happy for you dude, your hospitality on this thread is amazing. Ppr awaits you! |

toyogirl: To avoid unnecessary delays, it's best to quote the ref no just as WES requested....that's like a major ID for your ECA application. Download the transcript request form from WES, full in the details with your ref no and scan it across to whoever is assisting with the process in your school. Thanks, I was referring to using lautech online application tho since I know someone that used that route recently and it worked fine. Only he didn't need any reference number in his case. But I'll find a way around it |

toyogirl: Hey dude, don't give up so easily! Guess what? I did my MBA in LAUTECH way back '09. ...I actually got my WES evaluation done during the strike...started the process in December (got my original cert & transcripts prepared and sent) and got my evaluation early March. ...on this Canadian dream, TENACITY is key....get someone over there to push for you...staying here won't work...push buttons! Give it all it takes...pray for favour; nothing is impossible...Peace! Hi please how strict is Wes on quoting the reference number on the envelope, cos I'm really not sure of the possibility of quoting the reference number if I'm applying online for the transcript. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by cheapphones: 5:13pm On Jun 09, 2017 |
MrOba: Many thanks for the link. I have had someone check for me but Exams and Records unit is also affected by the strike action. I think unfortunately I am stuck and will have to wait till the strike is called off and only God knows when that will be. I think you should still try the online application, I know someone that used it very recently and got his transcript delivered to Lagos about a week after applying. I only don't know of it was during the strike. BTW, lautech hasn't been on strike for a year, they resumed briefly before the current one which according to the info I have, it's only ASUU, doesn't include nasu and ssanu which are the ppl processing transcript. I just think you should make a move first before jumping into conclusion. 40manlappy can also advise better. |

40manlappy: On point! Obviously, the "whole world" has ported to IQAS. Foreign degree holders are definitely better off with WES.
In addition, anyone whose school traditionally takes forever to respond to external enquiries (such as WES) should jejely use IQAS. Now we're more confused than when we first began! |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by cheapphones: 10:17am On Jun 01, 2017 |
tollu: At the moment, their timelines are similar. However, there's no back and forth with IQAS once you send all required documents.
All the best. OK, thanks |

tollu: Don't mind those yeye people, everybody is Mr in Unilag. Anyways, no such thing as title on my IQAS or husband's WES assessment. I can't say if things will change ooo but I didn't bother my head about it.
Besides, I believe you'd need to enter correct titles when applying for the evaluation.
All the best. Sometimes last week iqas was advised on here as preferrable for eca but I'm seeing some complaints recently, they even extended the timeline to 25 days on their website. Please can someone advise on which is better BTW wes and Iqas wrt customer service and speed. I'm evaluating a Nigerian bachelors degree. |

CanadianNurse: that's why you don't just get ee... You must someone with a reasonable working experience, in most cases married and also have some cash is very unlikely to run away..... These people know their jobs more than us..... Thats the main reason why they don't run visa lottery I don't wish to drag this further but lemme say: I know all that but it's still no guarantee that he'll do legit stuff wen he gets there, cos anyone with all those qualifications can still do illegitimate stuff if there's no good job, after all the money you go with will finish one day, except it's that easy easy (or almost automatic) to get a good job when you enter with express entry as ppl make it appear. We can't query their decisions but I was just saying someone that finished msc shouldn't be seen as such a burden if they take ppl with few years experience with open arms. |

CanadianNurse: haven't you thought about people that go there and runaway... The Don't go to the school they applied for... They enter Street and start committing fraud and other crimes to survive in the name of hustle? That is what they are trying to curb! They want to make sure you are a genuine student Seeing that going thru ee isn't a guarantee for job, I think someone going tru ee is even more likely to go and enter street and commit fraud, and all that. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by cheapphones: 8:15am On May 12, 2017 |
If Canada claims that they're looking for professionals hence the purpose of express entry, I don't see a reason why the vo should then be bothered about an Msc student not coming back hence refusing them visa, it just doesn't add up. I tot it's countries that are doing everything to reduce immigration that should be concerned about your leaving immediately you finish whatever you're coming to do. I'm just trying to make common sense, I know ee is entirely different from going to study but this is sth I've been wondering and I wonder if I'm the only one that sees it like that. #JustRanting |

tuzinde: hello, see link below for application review path. I applied July 15th for MASc and got MEng offer Nov 29th https://graduate.carleton.ca/apply-online/application-status/ Wow that's quite long, yeah I actually do check the site you quoted and for my admission status too, it says it's being reviewed by the department. I later sent a mail to them and they said same. I guess they just take long to respond generally then, but I was worried cos I'm used to 6-8 weeks. I'd keep checking and waiting then. Thanks for your response. |

elfmann: People should be using transfer...British Council's account number isn't static here: let's use $$$$$##** for example...dollar sign represents d city u wanna do d test,d two hash signs epresent d month u want to take d test and 2 asterisks represent d last two digits from ur passport.
After u have written the N68,000 in words, put a comma and write ur full ref number with hyphens, put a hyphen and write ur full bame. Account holder: British council.
No need to dhl a thing or hassle to their offices. Even Ikoyi isn't easy for Lagos folks. And d queue there is annoying as they understaff d customer service desk. I think they wonder why we still bring in draft. I told them to go and educate d banks and their staff.
Some banks or branches don't know jack on this..so after getting ur code which is the acct number u will input, print off this attached file for convincing them that bank draft is d difficult costly old method. Even GTB at Adeyemo Alakija had no clue until I taught them. I dunno how recent what you're describing is but I remember that earlier last year there was some form of online payment but by the time I did my ielts in August last year, I saw it stated explicitly on british council website that the only acceptable means of payment in Nigeria is bank draft which you'll have to send to them after, except they have changed that law now. Besides the guy that asked the question had already done the bank draft part so his only option now is to send it to their office. |

KweenCee: Good morning,
Please someone should please answer me. After registering for IELTS and getting the bank draft, am i supposed to visit any of their offices to submit my documents?
Are my supposed to request that they send d restuls to IRCC? You'll have to DHL your bank draft with a copy of the biodata page of ur passport to their closet office within 5 working days I think, so do that fast. |
