Venchy: I apologise for my choose of words but I don't mean to insult anyone.

My reasons is to ensure that we all adhere to the thread even if the price is not the same but it will serve as a guide which can help in negotiations.

People are crooks and I can tell you that thread have helped ME in getting a good supplier with their product advertised with prices compare to the Dubious price my IMMEDIATE BROTHER gave me because I'm not in the country.

Trust me, every price posted on here helps.

Thanks guys.
Good one, touching, i started the posting of building materials prices but people call me to thank me for giving them bargaining power over the dubious ones, i think is more better if you will patronise the price poster...just kidding is a free world, if you call for our service we will appreciate it. Building Made Easy!!!

fash78: @Venchy you do not need to start calling me names just because I asked for the cost of materials to be sent to my email box. You will agree with me that prices posted on this thread are not the best price you could get from suppliers on this forum. I have negotiated for the best price based on my budget and the supplier I negotiated with is fine sending the prices to my inbox.
You are correct, Venchy was just curious to know the prices of the items maybe he/she is also interested to buy some of the listed items. We should be friends here.

mufutau55: Damn.. That is surely a disaster.. what are the other alternatives apart from light decking that Mr. Chekitaut mentioned, POP and old day Asbestos?

Hajji Mufutau
The power with fire is air and petroleum product, PVC is also a petroleum product, the only fire resistance building materials in the kitchen is ur light/normal concrete decking, Tiles to the decking level, Fire resistance steel door recommended entrance and exit. Gas cylinder outside, All table Marbel.

diehard: @Experts in the house, i have seen where the use of PVC ceiling at homes aided the spread of fire from the kitchen quickly to other parts of the house. They are beautiful and cheap to use, but please be quided in your use of PVC ceiling. They should not be exposed to direct heat, such as non-energy bulbs. a house close to mine was partly burnt and it was caused by heating from a bulb directly to the PVC ceiling.
This days light concrete decking is recommended in the kitchen as ceiling.

Roserbert: thanks for sharing this,

I'll love to know which material you intend using where you quoted "imported", because though I really don't know much about aluminum work, I know there are many different materials and that determines the price also. I know they have oluku material (big & small), standard, the curve ( or is it d core), pls can U jes clarify dat for me.

Thanks
We at Chekitaut Nig & Co. we place standard, we use only two specification wish is the towal and the imported, all other names we are aware of but we dont patronise it.

playmode: EmperorOlu is a business partner of mine and we have worked together on a few of these container homes here in South Africa. To cool the container homes we use insulation foam.

First we frame the container with wooden frames:

https://www.supercubes.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Framing-container-and-wiring-it.jpg

After the electrician and plumber fix the wires and pipes,Then we apply insulation foam:

https://www.supercubes.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Foam-spray-insulation.jpg

The foam insulates the house 100%

One the insulation foam is installed we now apply cement boards and paint over and wala you have a house

https://www.supercubes.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Finished-solar-barn-interior.jpg

Like EmperorOlu said ,we wanted to bring the idea to Nigeria but were discouraged by the price of containers in Nigeria. We even found three companies in Nigeria who were dealing in insulation foams so we ready to start until we discovered the outrageous cost of shipping containers in Nigeria. The truth is that Nigeria makes simple thing become extremely hard.In South Africa many people are starting to build shipping containers home because they are stronger than brick, fire resistant, easy to manipulate to ones design and quick to build. Here are pictures of some containers homes from all over the world.

This is a contianer home built in Malaysia:

This home would cost around N9Million with finishing in South Africa but to achieve such in Nigeria we may spend up to N25Million because of overpriced materials.
