It's foolish to assume for one second that Buhari was scared of debating Jonathan. Can any question be tougher than the one he has been asked by Amanpour and participants at the Chatham house debates? It's GEJ that's scared of a non-partisan debate and if one were organised, he will abstain. It's what he did in 2011. |

The contract is just a cover to legally fund a terrorist and separatist organization. It makes no logical sense. None at all. I remember the debate over whether NSCDC personnel should carry arms. It was a while before they were authorized to carry arms. Now, the president is funding a separatist organization with no legal backing or training to carry arms to defend pipelines? Are they licensed private security contractors? Has the law changed about arms? He's raising a Boko Haram in the South West and I hope he loses on Saturday and is made to pay for his wickedness. |

kolonigga: Home » Featured » Another foreign firm tips Buhari to win presidential poll Teneo Intelligence copy Another foreign firm tips Buhari to win presidential poll Posted by: Our Reporter in Featured, News 16 hours ago New York based political risk firm, Teneo Intelligence, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, is gaining momentum over President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of next week’s election. Teneo Intelligence, in a report yesterday, thought Buhari had ”an edge,” but that “a last-minute upset by the incumbent president remained a possibility.” It said: ”President Goodluck Jonathan is banking on recent reports of the ‘successful’ counterinsurgency offensive against Boko Haram to help turn the tide on his battered reputation … “However, the momentum of Jonathan’s rival Muhammadu Buhari of the main opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) continues to grow. “Despite the absence of reliable polling data in Nigeria, the most important signal that he could unseat the president is the change in the voting trend this time round. “Buhari’s support in the north (his home region) appears to be unwavering – he has consistently defeated his rivals there in the past three election cycles. This support is only likely to increase thanks to a growing anti-Jonathan sentiment in the region … “Buhari’s strong momentum represents a serious threat to many powerful business and political interests that have benefitted from the incumbent People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s 16-year political dominance. Consequently, entrenched interests will not easily concede a Buhari victory.” Teneo’s prediction followed on the heels of the projection made last week by the world’s leading global political risk research and consulting firm,Eurasia Group that Buhari has a 60% chance of winning, depending on how a considerable tranche of uncommitted voters leans. Eurasia’s Africa practice head and Analyst Philippe de Pontet wrote that the electoral map is tilting to Buhari in swing regions in the Southwest and the Middle Belt. He said that with Buhari in the saddles, investors could expect business-oriented policies. He adds:”The election will still be difficult to call, but our expectation of a narrow Jonathan win was predicated on several factors that are losing some saliency late in the campaign. Chief among them is the incumbency and financial advantages of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). While this still helps Jonathan, its impact is blunted by the intensity of support for Buhari, lackluster grassroots campaigning by the PDP, and new anti-rigging measures by the electoral commission. http://thenationonlineng.net/new/another-foreign-firm-tips-buhari-to-win-presidential-poll/ Change is on the way |

The ultimatum will be that either Tinubu would forfeit and give up 50 per cent of the money, property and the illicit gains that he has fleeced and garnered from Lagos state over the last 16 years or he would face the full wrath of the law and be prosecuted for corruption.
It is clear from this that all is not well in the APC’s camp and that their de facto leader, Bola Tinubu and their presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, are on a collision course. The superficial impression is one of a central bank lacking a clear strategy. Yet for all the confusion of the last few months, the reality is that the CBN is being asked to carry the burden of a very difficult adjustment on its own.
The government did little to help during the good times, in our view, running down savings when oil prices were high, and is now at a political impasse over the 2015 budget. With parliament on recess until after the poll, it could be July before the eventual 2015 budget is implemented. Until then, any talk of "austerity" should be taken with a pinch of salt. https://i60.tinypic.com/30dgjz6.jpghttp://www.ft.com/intl/fastft/296093 |

Some Nigerians - Your life has not moved forward in the last 8 years. You hate change but will still vote PDP or the useless governor that has not impacted positively on your life on the basis of your hatred for one man called Tinubu.
I marvel when I try to comprehend the reasoning of a lot of Nigerians I interact with on a day to day basis - People whose lives have worsened over the years and can't afford to feed decently, people who you expect to be enraged by the squandering of their common wealth by the government of the day and people who you think should no better. They rise up in defense on mediocrity and raise all manner of ethnic and religious arguments to prove a foolish point.

nelsonoba: I knew it! You would pretend as if you had never heard that Buhari's "muslims vote only muslim candidates" statement he made during his 2002 campaign for 2003 Election.
You would pretend as if you've never seen Buhari's 2001 Newspaper interview where he openly said "he will not stop supporting the agitation for the total implementation of sharia, not just in Northern Nigeria, but across the whole of Nigeria".
You would pretend as if you've never heard when Buhari was urging his supporters to commit post-election violence against christians by telling them to soak the streets with the blood of the dogs & baboons if "elections are rigged and he loses"
Mr Buhari supporter, why is it the deceived APC employees like you that are always the ones coming out to try so hard to defend Buhari and tell us he is not a violent extremist? Has Buhari at any point in time come out to deny that he made these statements of his i quoted above? At least, he should have come up to say he didnt make those statements and that they were ploys by PDP to discredit him, but he has never even attempted to deny them or even say he was sorry for making such statements. This is the Buhari you want to come here and defend? Oga, Abeg park well joor..... The sharia story has been debunked severally including a widely circulated piece by Matthew Kukah. Now, compare that to Namadi Sambo in the presence of GEJ saying PDP is a muslim party with only Jonathan as christian and a reason why muslims should vote for him. The video is on youtube! There is no recording of Buhari making such inflammatory statements. Attempts have been made to doctor videos in that regards, but it has failed. All you have is hearsay on the pages of suspect newspaper sponsored by his political enemies. When you have concrete proof, you can mention me. Till then, STFU! |

nelsonoba: Liar!!!
Jonathan has never ever said christians should not support a muslim candidate. Tell us when Jonathan ever made any such statement. pls tell us with proofs!
On the other hand, Buhari is the first and only Nigerian politician i have heard openly saying muslims should vote only muslim candidates in elections. Go and listen to some of his campaign speeches starting from 2003 elections. He did not say it in private, he openly said so.
It is the desperation of APC and some "born to rule" northern elders that are creating the so-called religious division in Nigeria. Not Jonathan!!
You must have heard Buhari make that statement about muslims voting only muslims, but you are probably pretending as if you've never heard it before, and you're coming here to spew thrash about Jonathan dividing the country along religious lines as if you can quote anywhere Jonathan publicly urged christians not to vote for or associate with muslims.
You have been deceived by APC and you are now looking for who to deceive! Show me where Buhari made this contentious statement and I would give you a video of Namadi Sambo saying APC is a party of Christians and the north should not vote them while GEJ sat down smiling! |
