Biochemistry in US may be under Chemistry (liberal arts and sciences) or Biomedical science depending on which of the two the school has or offers. This in contrary to Nigeria where Biochemistry is a standalone department.

I have observed with interest that Nigerians would place 3, 4 or sometimes 5 or 6 stickers on wind screen & back screen of their vehicle. Even obsolete ones dated as far back as 2010 would still be left there.I have the Winners stickers for 2010, 2011 and 2012. The alumnus sticker of the University i attended making a total of 4. 2 on the wind screen, 2 on the back screen. So, how many of such stickers/fliers do you have in your car and when does it becomes too much?

I think that is not a recent video. But it also calls for a sober reflection!!! God's wonderful creature being burnt like goat. May God forgive the perpetuators of this dastardly act.

@poster     Chemical Engineering was initially one of the 5 branches of chemistry but it grew so wide that there was the need for specialization. Hence it is a professional course.Deals with chemical principles indept most especially its application.Industrial chemistry is more of principles. Studied Industrial Chemistry @ UNIBEN and i can say it is a great course because it finds application in many areas which includes;materials(polymers),medicinal chemistry,phamaceutical chemistry.soil and food chemistry,electro-chemistry,environmental chemistry, Industrial chemists are grossly underutilized in Nigeria. I would say that a chemical engineer has greater prospect in the Nigerian scenario. I'm out.

@lastposter, True talk.Studied Industrial Chemistry @ UNIBEN but currently works in a bank.The truth is that Chemistry as a field is an interesting and respected one with lots of opportunities, in pharmacy(Pharmaceutical Chemistry),Medicine(medicinal Chemistry),quality control in the Oil n Gas sector,FCMG,in textiles,Mineral processing, etc.But how many of these industries are present in Nigeria?. The Nigerian government is not interested in research or in the development of Science(bedrock of technological development),all they're interested in is modification of existing processes to favour them and their cronies,with myopic vision.

@all chemist and intending Chemist in the house, Don't give up.The good thing is that the study of Chemistry helps to improve ur overall thinking and the way u see or do things.No wonder they are prefered and actually do well in tests and interviews hence are prefered than those social scientist to work in the finiancial sector which includes banks and insurance firms.

I studied Industrial Chemistry at University of Benin.I must say that would be a good start for you,the most important thing for you is to know your onions.A chemist finds applications in so many areas even in Nigeria although grossly under-utilized.I am currently in FirstBank though,but anywhere you go as a chemist,you are appreciated and most people wants to discuss with you.Follow your heart my guy.See you at the Chemical Society of Nigeria.
NB;MOST BANKS AND ORGANIZATIONS REQUIRES A FIRST DEGREE FROM ANY COURSE FOR ENTRY LEVEL.

Abeg i prefer naija 10x than studying abroad o.For there i no go fit block courses,them go make me get headache with jacking,but for here bi am already home and dry.Naija schooling system and lecturers i dey hail ooooooooooooooo.na my M.Sc remain.i dey go buy wine for my supervisor first thing tommorrow cos i no fit shout.

I am a chemist.The problem is that Nigeria do not utilize chemist as in other countries.Most of them venture into other sectors like banking,insurance etc.But chemistry could find application in areas like brewery,paint and textile industries and bla bla bla.

I'm not sure of what you're looking for,but if it is the best then Welcome to the University of Benin.My advice jack well for your post UME cos Uniben remains the most sought after Uni in the country.
