Somalino:That is a misinterpretation of the first paragraph. It requests that you submit the relevant evidence that you and your fiance(e) plans to get married.... married within 90 days of their entry into the US, not that the evidences are expected within 90 days of entry into the US. Also, they expect you to send the evidences you have from the list of possible evidences and not all. |
Totally fine to take drugs with cold water. Even better depending on the structure of the active pharmaceutical ingredients (API). Some API-containing ester functional groups will hydrolysis (breaking down of the esters) in warm/hot water thereby reducing the dosage even before the drug gets the chance to be acted on by stomach fluids. Some drugs are also pro-drugs that are meant to form the active API inside the stomach, taking those with hot water may break down the pro-drug thereby forming the active API before getting to the stomach. |
Bluezy13:SMH for nairalanders who crammed chemistry in school. First of all, alkanes undergo combustion reaction, where the hydrocarbon is oxidized using oxygen to give carbon dioxide and water in form of steam. This is totally different from the typical substitution reaction by alkanes. The numerator does not matter. The question remains chemically incorrect as CO2 does not react with hydrocarbons but I see many unsound argument about the equation. Mixture of propane and butane can be combusted as well in excess oxygen. |
These are very lame questions. Hydrocarbons (CxHy) are chemically inert to carbon dioxide - CO2 hence CO2 present in the air does not react with candles or gasoline or cooking gas. The questions are chemically wrong. |

If you show the necessary paperwork, for a visa on arrival, including the payment of the necessary fees, you would be allowed to board. |
Ifeanyichukwu42:Nigerian Immigration Service can process visas on arrival for American citizens visiting Nigeria, not the other way. LakesideNG is correct. |
tbenee:15 months? This is definitely outside the normal processing window which is at currently 7 - 9.5 months. Did you receive RFEs previously concerning this case? I think what is needed from you is explicitly stated in the attached letter. Provide evidence of communication when the relationship started, provide evidence that either of you transferred money to each other, bank statement should suffice and provide an affidavit sworn by at least 2 people who can testify that they know when/how your relationship commenced, maybe people from where either of you reside (this one is a low hanging fruit). You can print the statement of your phone bill showing call log/data used for facetime as well. Good luck! |
Everyone to their unique experiences. You can never take Nigeria out of someone so even though you have a foreign passport, you are easily identified as a Nigerian by your name, the way you speak, and how you comport yourself. I am also a frequent traveler like the OP, always proud of my green passport and I have never been treated negatively. I often hide my blue passport (US) unless I have to hold it for a check or something. Proud Naija always. |
Deegayes:I need naira |
Princekenuk:Currently, the weather is really nice, as are most summers (60-90F). The winters are generally cold in the Mid-West with temperatures reaching -30F sometimes. |
AdoChel:I currently attend UW-Madison. |
Danny4show:I replied your email. Glad to answer your questions. |
Hello, I tried to reply to your email but I got a message failure notification. It sort of depends on where you are looking at advancing your career. My perspective is based on my experience as a chemist in the US. I think analytical chemistry is highly relevant here and It is going to continue to be relevant in the next 20-30 years. This is because of the very broad scope where analytical chemistry skills are applicable for example, in the petroleum industry, materials, clinical, biotechnology, drug development, general analytical testing, food industry, etc. Though synthetic/med chemists make more money, the field is highly competitive as there are only a few openings for process/med chemistry in the pharmaceutical companies compared to analytical chemistry job opportunities. In order words, the scope of a med/synthetic chemist is very limited but compared to that of an analytical chemist. I have no information about forensic chemistry but I would think It is a sub-discipline of analytical chemistry as part of their work involves DNA amplification and testing. |
Legit215:CUNY is totally legit for visa purposes. |
godG:Great! Will send you a PM. Thanks! |
godG:godG, greetings! You attend UW Madison right? |
Hi guys, For those applying to 'mushroom' schools, read and be guided. About 600 international students, mostly Indians were affected in this sting operation by ICE. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2019/01/31/ice-set-up-fake-university-hundreds-enrolled-not-realizing-it-was-sting-operation/?noredirect=on |
Fortissimo:Hi, feel free to ask me any question. |
Who be Flavour? ![]() |
Busconductor:Yes that is possible. Your dad should go to his bank to do the transaction. It is advisable to remit directly to the school. So he would need your school account details. The CBN approved rate would be applied and his naira account debited and your school's account credited the dollar equivalent. |
sirRiddy:Yes, CPT is very competitive. It is not a department thing as someone said. You have an edge if you are in a STEM graduate program and as far as i know if you get an internship with a company and meet all the requirement your school is mandated to process your CPT even if it not not necessary for your course. I am currently on CPT against the wish of my advisor who wants to keep me in the lab 24/7. The company i work for (Biopharm) sponsors H1B then GC. Internships is one of the surest way to obtain your GC as the company greatly saves by employing their interns after graduation. Do not be discouraged. I applied to more than 15 companies. I did phone screen with about 5 of them. The problem is when you would be asked if you are authorized to work in the US. I'd advice you say "Yes" at this point. Saying no is automatic disqualification for most companies, afterall CPT is a temporary authorization. |
It's nice to see guys coming to Madison, WI. godG welcome to the land of cheese and beer. It is the best time of the year here in Madison. |
Busconductor:I do not see the reason you should be asked for a bank statement at your POE. I was not asked a single question. My passport was only collected and stamped and i left. That was at Detroit, MI. I guess it also depends on the particular POE. |
adewoleray:Yes, If your course is designated as STEM you can have OPT (including extension) for 29 months, after which you will need sponsorship by your company. That work authorization is called H1B. Not all company is willing to sponsor H1B and you cannot sponsor yourself. Initial H1B is valid for 3 years and can be renewed for another 3 years. Hope that helps As regards greencard after your masters you can sponsor yourself through the National Interest Waiver programme. You must have published a good number of papers in respected journals and must show that you are pioneering a novel research that has not been done before or you get a company to sponsor your greencard. You can also get a greencard by getting married to a citizen. |
@ benjaminiyke, I would first of all evaluate my GPA to a 4.00 scale. The chances of getting admission into a Chemistry, MS program in the US becomes almost zero if it is lower than 2.50/4.00. Also do not be deceived you need to consider the tier 2 schools most notably the California state university system. Like others rightly said a number of factors is considered, but you also need to show that you can do research since your degree would be researched based. Talk about your final year project and other lab experience you have. That is a huge pointer to being successful in graduate school. Do not waste your money by applying to Tier 1 universities like LSU, ASU, OSU et al |
Ok, but the figures still indicate a heavy reliance on oil related revenues. Diversification remains the way to go. |
lol. Impossicant |
Ibadan.........The first and still the best ![]() |
