The ibos hatred for the yorubas has been since the creation of Nigeria. Despite the graciousness the yorubas have shown the ibos, the ibos still hate them. Nowhere in Nigeria have the ibos enjoyed political, economic and social benefit than in yorubaland, yet the ibos still hate them.

I hv warned Yorubas to mind their biz n stop attacking Igbos, cos we r always ready for them, in Nairaland or outside Nairaland. Another story. I've been called fake igbo before and anyone that knows me, including on this site, is very much aware how proud igbo I am. Even emeka esogbue was turned exactly what you just described because of the constant reference to "fake igbo". Prior to getting all butt hurt about it and displaying low self esteem, he was a proud SS igbo. The people that turned him against that were infact SE igbo. We've told una to stop with that "fake igbo", "real igbo" rubbish but una no dey listen. At least ohaneze and other igbo main groups are listening hence the reason i don't care about what some random SE igbos call me or any other anioma. I've learned how to deal with una when you ppl start you call me fake, I call you fake and we will both be fake igbo. End of story. I don't take it to the heart like Emeka did.

This is true( I don't mean the coward part, I mean the killing each other part) and one of the major reasons Yorubas remain one Nigerian fanatics, even when they want to deny it.

The Yorubas can't stand each other, they were always on each other's throat. It was Awo and Akintola that United them, by showing them that they all had one common enemy in Ndiigbo and advised them to channel the hatred they had for each other towards Ndiigbo, that was the central message of Akintola's Yoruba Ronu speech.

Yoruba union had Igbophobia at the core of its foundation.

Remove Igbos from Nigeria, the Yoruba unity will fall, and they will 're channel those hatred they are currently channeling towards Ndiigbo towards themselves, with repeat of Kiriji and Wetie taking place in Yorubaland, they will reverse to their pre Nigerian state.
