There are some strong pointers to what you said.
There's a place in Ego L.G.A of Ewhotubu in Benin, called Okhokugbo. During my time there, I curiously inquired the meaning of Okhokugbo, and I learnt that it means a farm for fowls. They told me that some people who lived there some years back majored in farming, chiefly of which was poultry.
Now look at the word 'Okhokugbo' and the Igbo words 'Ugbo Okuko' or 'Okuko Ugbo' and draw your inference.
Bini is a language born out of a meshwork btwn Igbo and Yoruba. You'd find Igbo terminologies in areas regarding agriculture and the arts, while that of Yoruba is as regarding governance(you know the ruling family is Yoruba).
In Bini, fowl is okhukho whilst farm is ugbo

Edo man looking for trouble. Not that most Igbos care much about Ika some of their villages are still under Benin PTSD. Pre-independence. Survey and population census carried out around the 1920s and then republished in this book in 1950. Almost 100-year-old fact but this is a thread for another day.

Later when a non-igbo says he doesn't like Igbos, people will start calling him "igbophobic", you guys are a hatefilled bunch, all you seem to dream of all day is ways to hurt other people, if the devil was a human he would probably be Igbo.

Now let us discus how you basically think you are as strong as the British empire was, because your dream seems to be about you basically doing to Benin empire's capital what the British did. The British and Benin empire fought a war and you iPod deluded fools are far from being as strong as the Benin empire or the British empire.

You guys will never make friends and quite frankly, I used to pity Igbos in the passed and I always stood by you guys when I felt others were unfair to you, but not anymore ! You guys deserve whatever you get, and stop claiming my Anioma people, we are not part of your gang of cannibals, we are part of Benin empire. All your hatred comes from the fact your ancestors used to eat humans. That cannibalism is encoded in your dna and you act it out through your hatefulness. This is the reason why nobody likes Igbos, even southern Cameroonians who used to be part of eastern Nigeria had to join Cameroon in order to not be in the same country with igbos. You guys caused a civil war, you guys go all around the world pushing drugs and making every country think all Nigerians are drug dealers...
Nobody likes you guys, maybe it is time to question your behaviour ...
Benin's continuous claiming of Anịọma/土美 is a justifiable Causus Belli, Kos there's no connection between the Edo and the Igbos of the trans-Niger.
Igboland from Ịka/田 in the West to the Anyịm/澠 River in the East, and from Ẹkpoto/貉 in the North to the Atlantic seaboard of Ụbaanị/豐窠 are all Alị Igbo/土隣 and won't be shared with any other.
So stretch out your hand to it and have it cut off!

I didn't want to answer him but since you have started it here is my feedback for him.

Identity could be influenced by political authority in Europe but not in Africa. Since no indigenous ethnic groups in southern Nigeria really colonized the other. Unless he is trying to claim the Proud progenitors of Ancient Bonny and Opobo were colonized by ijaws which hasn't been proven. Except for instances of Ijaw leaders like the current King of Nembe who confiscated Igbo properties in the old River state.

He should ask him self:

Why is Bonny and Opobo the only two places on the coast where the indigenous language is different from the acclaimed owners?
Despite the Fulani hegemony over the Hauses, the Hausa language like the Ebanne has stood the test of time.

People's languages cannot be wished away by an executive fiat as is been attempted on this islands.
It is not easy for languages from different language families to displace one another. Igbo and Ijo are from different language families,so it'd be quite difficult for Ijo to replace Igbo... Which is also why Fula can never displace Hausa, whilst Hausa can displace those Northern languages that are of the same family as Hausa.
Take the middle East for example... Aramaic was the lingua franca of the middle East but that was displaced by Arabic kos both languages are Semitic languages. Aramaic would've already displaced Hebrew, but for the saving grace that Hebrew was also a liturgical language

Yeah.
Nris were very widespread.
In many parts of Igbo land, even in deep Imo and Abia, places you can argue that Nris never held strong influence over, dwarves are still called "Akanshi".

I learnt this was because Nri priests welcomed and trained dwarves all over Igboland who were discriminated against and used them as their Messengers.

So in Igboland, dwarves became synonymous with Nri Messengers.

By the way, I am guessing our ancestors met some dwarve race in this rainforests when they arrived here? grin
I guess we breed with them and slowly replaced them.
Then the dwarve trait was eliminated by natural selection. grin

The Nri and the Umudiokas were responsible for Ichi marks, right?
The dwarves were part of the pygmy race that inhabited the forests of central Afrịka from the Niger down to the Kongo river.
The Igbo name, àkà is a derivative of their own name, Baka which they answer till this day

Did you say Itam!

If you're talking about Itam I know one or two about Itam! Itam today is a general name by Efiks used to refer to non Ibibio tribes in Northern and Central Cross River. If Itam and Otam were the same then in finding them look no further than Northern/Central Cross River state!

One of the tribes there would be the Itam/Otam as recorded.
Exactly...
When I worked in Calabar i heard that Ịtam stuff alot... And when i asked, i was told that it was the Efik name for the non Efik tribes of Cross River State.
I think that Ọtam might be the Igbo(Arọ precisely) pronunciation

Can you see that the language of New Calabar (Kalabari) was Igbo. Kalabari were earlier Igbo speaking. Same as Nembe Brass.

I hear Kalabari's language is still very Igbonized today. But I don't know how true.

Maybe I should mention some old Kalabari members
Kalaɓarị was called Bọm by the Igbos then... And even till now their language is heavily Igbonized, especially with the Igbo of the ikwerre and oratta varieties

Some thing else came to my mind looking at that pic.
There is a community in Ndoki known as Akirika.
Akirika had three parts. Akirika Uku, Akirika nta and Akirika Obu( which Akwaibom was dragging).

Okirika and Akirika sound alike and these places are not too far away from each other.

And yes, the "Wa-creek" hypothesis clicks well.
Actually,
Akịrịka is the way Igbos of the Imo river area pronounce Okirika.
For Ndọkị, Ngwa and Eche tribes, Akịrịka is the same as Okirika. Another example is Ọzara, which in these areas is called Azara

We really have an outstanding score to settle with those Minorities, especially the trio (Igala, Ijaw and Bini)
I've already worked out a plan in case war breaks out... And better still the trio are to the West geographically(Bini: west; Ịgara: North West; Izon: South West).
By the time a peace treaty is concluded, the Izon would've been driven into the sea, the Ịgara driven across the Benue river into the Nasarawa plains whilst the city of Benin burnt down and the oba sent into an eternal exile to ile ife

It's like we're saying the same thing here. You're simply rehashing my statement.

It seems you misunderstand the point of my statement. The point is simply this: Europeans, due to their extensive slave trading contact with Kalabari and then Bonny, were not ignorant of which groups from the interior. In fact, the Europeans did not need to venture into the interior to get information about these communities, because they could record all they needed from their dealings at Kalabari and Bonny slave markets. Between the 16th - 18th centuries, virtually every group within the Lower Niger passed through Kalabari and Bonny slave markets. Europeans purchased them, catalogued and documented them. These documents include reports and memoirs.

I've dived into this subject multiple times here on NL and also provided recommendations for people to use in researching these points. I won't debate this with you. Rather, I'll simply make the following recommendations.

Afigbo's writings within the Ropes of Sand serialization.
Talbot and Mulhall's works on Physical Anthropology in the Lower Niger region.
Akwaranwa's publication on the politico-cultural history of the Ngwa and Ukwa regions.
Can you send me the links to these works so that I can download them?
I seem to have issues locating them online

@slayerforever, just to reiterate that your assertions about the Kwas are correct.
All the mmoghu people were also called "Mokos" or "Moscoes". In later books, Quaws were recorded as "Kwas".

Second proof. This is another account about Bonny.

I will not upload the third proof, it explained how Ijo later influenced the language of Okrika and New Calabar.
Please I'd like you to send me the books you posted your excerpts from so that i can use them for a research...

Will you shattap there. There is nothing like "universal" when writing someone's name.
Both are correct. They will just set music and you people will start jumping up and down.
Can you exert this same energy if it was 1.Muhammad and Mohammed?
2.Abraham and Avraham?
3. JESUS and YESHUA?

When you give example to back up your point, be sure that your examples when analysed doesn't counter your argument.
For the name "MHMD", which is an Arab name the correct form is Muhammad, bkos in Arabic language there are only three vowels viz a, i, u
For the name "’BRHM", which is a Hebrew name, Abraham is biblical Hebrew bkos unlike modern Hebrew, biblical Hebrew doesn't have v consonant
For the name "YSHW‘", which is a Semitic name, Yeshua is Aramaic(the Hebrew form is Yoshua). Jesus is the Greek form of Yeshua, kos Greek doesn't have the sh sound, and all Greek names must end in s, which Latin also borrowed too.
Politics / Re: What Is The Difference Between Onuora And Onuoha? Are They The Same? by cheruv: 7:56pm On Nov 26, 2021
Let's deduce the meanings using Akahan...
The name is made up of two terms viz ọnụ and ọha/ọra... And writing it in Akahan we've
Ọnụ: 口
Ọha/Ọra: 公
Giving us 口公, which is the Akahan form.
So if both Ọnụọha and Ọnụọra have the same writing in Akahan, it simply means that they're the same thing. QED kiss
