It's actually peculiar to Lagosians

However in linguistics it's a common phenomena among all language speakers to have one defect or the other

Some ibos pronounce 'r' sound as 'L' for example some ibos can't say 'mpuru miri' rather they will say 'mpulu mili'

embarassed
Any small thing you'd call Igbos...
The example you gave for Igbo is called lateralization... Whereas the OP is talking about rhotacizing

Nigeria is a complicated country. Breakup is almost impossible! How many sections would SS and NC break into?! I was shocked when Ikwerre man and an Ijaw man told me they are related to the Yorubas through Oduduwa. I googled it and found out Ijaw is actually an Oduduwa son/grandson!!!
Through which oduduwa? shocked
Ijos especially those in Bayelsa and Delta States are the oldest groups in southern Nigeria. Those claiming ijo in Rivers State are not really ijo.
The ikwerre themselves are a conglomerate of different groups... Infact, their name "ikwerre" means congregation, and other versions are "ekwerre" or "ekwulu". The ikwerre themselves come from different parts of Igboland and so have no single origin

Seriously...
With the way things are going in Igboland, especially in view of the collusion btwn the military and the bandits, ESN should have an army of btwn 50-100K soldiers... And should be in total control of the Igbo countryside, whilst the military only controls their bases and the cities

In the Dangote Truck conveying them, under a tarpaulin, was discovered a cache of ammunitions, that exposed their true intentions. It was also discovered that they are the backup , but it ended badly for them.

What some of you don't know is that any Igbo serving and making exploits in another country does so on his capacity as an Igbo, not as a Nigerian

An amphibious attack is no joke.

Murtala was relieved of his command after several failed crossings .

Mutiny was even brewing among the men before Gowon relieved Murtala of his command.

It was reckless , suicidal and outright incompetence on the part of Murtala who was said to consult a Muslim soothsayer and announce his attack by blaring a beagle.

And by the way , Murtala s war ended in Asaba after he was relieved. It was another northern officer that led the invasion from the north and not Murtala.

His wartime career ended after the abâgana debacle, in which a Biafran company under one uchendu like that annihilated the entire division of almost 6000 men. That debacle was the last straw, after the AHQ had endured him despite his grievous miscalculations at Ọnịcha.
Coupled with the fact that the 3rd army in the South was now losing ground to the Biafrans, Gowon decided to change all the commanders of all three armies that invaded Biafra.

The Battalion that died attacking the first Niger Bridge were mainly Yorubas
Popular Pastor Matthew Asimolowo's father died on top of the first Niger Bridge

It is ok to name the Bridge after Azikiwe
You've been corrected....
It was the 2nd army under MM that sought to conquer Ọnịcha from Asaba. After they were beaten twice, they marched North to idah, crossed the river there and then invaded the NW territories of the Biafran Republic.
But I'd agree with you, thousands of Yorubas drowned in their failed attempts to conquer Ọnịcha cool

It was Ojukwu that destroyed the first Niger Bridge that was later rebuilt by Gowon

It is an Insult to the families of the People and Soldiers that died defending the first Niger Bridge

Do you know that that People like Matthew Asimolowo lost his Sargeant father on the first Niger Bridge that Ojukwu destroyed

It is not appropriate to name any Niger Bridge after Ojukwu who is known for destruction of the Magnificent first Niger Bridge

It is even better to call it Azikiwe Bridge because at least Balewa and Azikiwe Built the first Niger Bridge before Ojukwu destroyed it
Both first and second Niger bridge connects eastern and western Igboland... So i wonder why a Yoruba is so interested in whatever name it bears....
Ojukwu bridge would be more fitting for it.

The Osu caste system was supposedly abolished in 2018 in an abolition ceremony carried out in Nri, Anambra and another done in 2021 in Nnsuka.

You do know that the Osus were set aside as slaves that will be used in human sacrifice to the Igbo blood lusting deity known as Chukwubiam.

Since then the gods of the heathen Igbo have grown angry and demanded their usual blood sacrifices. The baby factories are not convenient for the Igbo heathen gods as only adults are required .

It is for this reason the Afro Zionist heathen IPOB was contracted to supply human sacrifices to the Igbo deity.

Prior to this, in 1958 , the Igbo dominated Eastern Parliament passed a bill banning the labelling and setting aside of people under the caste system. The gods were rightly angry and just a few years later from 1967 to 1970, the gods dined and drenched themselves in human blood sacrifices.

There is an occultic dimension to the ongoing senseless blood letting by IPOB and the spike in killings going on in your heathen province.

I see a major blood bath in Alaigbo republic beginning from 2025 when your gods come for their due OSU sacrifices.

Economy was recalibrated under Okonjo Iweala who was Obasanjo’s finance minister. Nothing speculate was done, except to correct the books of IMF. No economy was opened up. Okonjo even warned that economy was collapsing. You were not borne then. So I forgive you. If they use Tinubu blueprint, was Tinubu involved in monitoring it? No!!! You can borrow my policy and yet not know how to implement it. Implementation is far more important than the policy itself.
All these emotional arguments show that you're living in fantasy...
Wasn't it obj that opened up the telecom sector that led to the coming of MTN and other networks? Wasn't it obj that led efforts to having the Paris club forgive Nigeria's debt, thereby enabling the economy to thrive? Yar'Adua and Goodluck came and continued from where he stopped which made the economy grow to the extent that when it was recalibrated in 2014, it was now the largest economy in Africa?
Since 2015 that Tinibu's minions have been running the economy, it has been on free fall till date angry

You are big liar. NIGERIA GDP was recalibrated when Okonjo Iweala was finance minister under Obasanjo. Not during Jonathan era. And it was just an error that was corrected by IMF, not that the government did anything spectacular in the economic front.
There's no need being sentimental or emotional over facts...
Nigeria became the largest economy in Africa under Goodluck, not Obasanjo. Yes the Obasanjo govt led the foundation for it by opening up the economy but Nigeria achieved that feat under Goodluck.
Also I agree with the other contender on adeosun kos back then in 2016 or thereabouts, I remember reading it in the press where she said that Nigeria's economy is being run on the model that Tinibu used in Lagos.

Inyo!!! tongue

I've taken time to study ancient Egyptian and all i can say that everything you penned down is absolute poo!
Egypt was known to ancient Egyptians as Kyím.. and the river was known Hapy after its god or Iteru. The name Nile came from Greek "νειλος", which was transcribed into Arabic and other languages as Nil/نيل
Yeah... There are words from Egyptian that are found in some of our languages today eg
Ábú is the word for leopard, or any carnivorous animal that climbs trees. In Igbo, it is the word for N. binotata, a feliform that lives on trees
Ause is the word for Isis, which is the wife of Osiris is Ose in Igbo. Her husband, Osiris who's called Ausar in Egyptian is called Ọsa in Igbo. Both names ọsa and ose mirror as names for the most high, depending on your dialect.
More examples are still coming...

I've heard two tone structures, but the most common I know is High Mid. So that is the one I go with.

Arim are only involved after death, during the reincarnation process. As far as I know, there are no specific forces/deities involved in death. Death is handled by the living. It is the responsibility of the most capable child to hold the okwukwu (the elaborate funeral rites) and cannonize the dead so they become "nde Iche". Cannonization for men is done with Ese, and cannonization for women is done with Ukom, where they basically have to perform a rite of recounting the lineage ancestors until they get to the individual who is being cannonized.

That means it'd be something like Árị̌m...
I know about èsè and ùkóm rituals and which of the genders they're done for cool

Cheruv, ị nụ ññaa ye? Sure, I can expand a little more on nde arịm. Like virtually all other Igbo-speaking communities, Ngwa worldview includes reincarnation. However, for us, there are beings (or forces) that guide the reincarnation process. Abụ we nde arịm. They come in two forms, arịm ọma and arịm ọkpọkọrọ imi.

In Ngwa, the color indigo (uri) is a highly valued color. I'm still not entirely sure why. Depending on how you lived your life, you will either make contact with arịm ọma (if you were a good person) or arịm ọkpọkọrọ imi (if you were a bad person). The arịm ọma supposedly will adorn your being in the color indigo and other ornaments, rewarding you in the process of reincarnation and ultimately guiding you to reincarnate with eke ọma (a.k.a good chi). The arịm ọkpọkọrọ imi do the exact opposite. There is no rewarding, and the process for reincarnation supposedly can be long and arduous. You will ultimately reincarnate without a good chi and supposedly must work even harder in your next life to be successful and a good person.

Nowadays, people do not put much stock those traditional values, so it isn't taught and reinforced anymore. You have to find people who are really into Omelala Ngwa that will be able to share and inform on some of these things.
Anụ m nṅa a ee....
Your explanation is quite elaborate... Although I've some more questions which I'd be happy if you oblige me.
1] what's the tone marking for "arịm"? So that I can be properly guided in pronunciation
2] what arịm also play a role in death? If not, which forces do?
Thanks alot... I megbaala ahụ

All the igbos are so free in Lagos and other Western states that they

like that?

Igbo doing business in Oyo..Osun..Ondo..Ogun..Ekiti..and Lagos
especially are the most happiest business men among their

is it the same story in the North?

The igbo need to think right...especially the Pa and Yo .......their elders...their youths..

In all the schools in our West Side from primary to tertiary ..u see igbo students lots and do well academically as the Yorubas.. is it the same in the North? hmm.

The igbo men and ladies need to think right so that they won't
miss their opportunity to become relevant to the West again.

Yes we don't trust them... but igbo should make the West trust
them once for the last time.
Dont bother...
There's no need for all these epistles kos the Igbo and the Yoruba kos these two nations have no meeting point.
