Business › How Do I Get VAT ID For Upwork Verification. by Chesster(op): 4:31pm On Apr 26, 2025 |
I am stucked at a section upwork that requires TIN and VAT ID. I went online and figured that I can apply for a TIN through site by joint tax board (jtb.gov.ng) I have already applied for it and I am still waiting for feedback but I am confused on how to get VAT ID.
Online I read that TIN and VAT ID are the same. Is this true and can I use my TIN for the section requiring VAT ID?
Can someone who has experienced this help me out

Max24: Where is Tinubu getting money to do all these roads from within 1 year of his being sworn in ? That's the question on my mind these days. No president had been this project oriented in the first year. Not Jonathan nor Buhari. Buhari even spent the first year appointing Ministers alone. Even though things are tough, infrastructural development is ongoing. We need to find ways to key in to all these developments. Intelligent people will key in to these opportunities being created and leave unintelligent ones to be crying and wailing online about everything. Tinubu hasn't even built up to 5km of the much talked about coastal highway With the way this government is going..they will not beat the previous government in infrastructure development |

He was a child prodigy and was apparently reading at the age of two, playing classical music at the age of three, and composing music at the age of five. At the age of eight, he scored 1500 on the SAT, which, at the time, had a total score of 1600.
Yano entered college at the age of 9. He attended Loyola University, Chicago and graduated summa cum laude in three years. When he was 12 years old, he entered University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine. In this program, students earn both a doctorate and a medical degree simultaneously. He did his residency in the area of pediatric neurology. His PhD is in molecular genetics and cell biology, which was completed after his first year of medical school in the program. By the time he was 18, he was in his second year of medical school and was interacting with patients as a PhD on his way to becoming an MD.
University of Chicago sits in good company with Columbia University and Stanford University since all three are tied at #4 in the U.S. New and World Report Rankings for best school in the nation. QS Top Universities ranks University of Chicago at an impressive #10 in the world. The university is clearly built for research with a majority, 59%, of its student population doing post-graduate work. DeLaRue: A company you founded and in which you continue to be shareholder secured a huge contract from another ministry in the same Government in which you are currently serving as a minister
And your defense is ... oh, but I am no longer a Director of the company, I am only a shareholder
As a shareholder, you are a beneficiary of the contract. That is the koko. Whether or not you're a director is irrelevant. This is not allowed anywhere, exceptmay be Nigeria. It is a straight forward sacking offence.
Is the Minister saying that if he finds that the permanent secretary in his ministry got a large contract from the ministry through a company the PS owns with perhaps his wife, the Minister will say, ah well, since the PS is only a shareholder and not a director, everything is fine?
Foreign observers must be laughing their heads off at this, or more appropriately shaking their heads in disgust at the level of insane corruption in Nigeria.
Has the Minister never had of conflict of interest and abuse of office.
And how on earth can he say he was not aware the company bid for the contract. He must think Nigerians are fools.
If this matter is investigated properly, and the government is truly serious, this man will be gone with Ms Edu and the other lady. No ifs, no buts. He did not award any contract to his ministry... He has no fault..he is simply a shareholder..no crime in that . Politicians are shareholders in Julius beger ..hence they handle all the juicy Nigerian projects.. It's no crime..as long as the company fulfills the requirements of the contracts ..why not. |

Primusinterpares: Selling at 3500 means spoiling business for other monopolistic business owners.
Especially in Nigeria where we don't have price regulations The fact that we don't have price regulations means nothing stops BUA from selling at N3500 if he truly means it.. BUA selling his cement for N3500 will not force Dangote to do anything.. There are 10 cement plant in Nigeria..the top 4 largest are all in owned by Dangote..BUA owns 2 and Lafarge owns 4 Dangote owns over 55% market share.. Another thing to note is that the demand for cement is so high that BUA selling for N3500 will not make them sell more or make Dangote lose patronage.. As at today There are 2 new cement plants under construction in Nigeria because of demands |

The idea that there is anybody in Nigeria that the Federal Government cannot 'touch' is funny.
If EFCC has good reason to believe he committed an offence, they will invite him for interrogation. If he refuses to turn up (he won't try it), he will be declared wanted and if found, arrested. Nothing will happen. Nigerians will go about their normal business.
I suspect Mr Dangote will be having sleepless night now, and calling some influential people to help him intervene for a soft landing.
Federal might is not to be sniffed at. Saved this for tomorrow.. Nothing will happen.. The FG needs Dangote more than Dangote needs them.. If Government shut down his operation for what ever reason...na them go feel am pass.. Ask Yahaya Bello when he tried to stop Dangote cement |

So Dangote is the reason why Obasanjo , yar adua and Jonathan left our refineries to fail and kept approving billions in the name of TAM for looters.. Nonsense and ingredients.. The Nigerian government saw it as shameful if Dangote can build his refinery bigger than all 3 government owned combined.. It's that shame that is making them to rush and repair that dead and buried port Harcourt Refinery of meagre 60,000bpd when Dangote is doing 650,000 Bpd..even BUA is building 200,000bpd.. MeineMutter: It won’t currently optimize the 650k capacity, so it doesn’t need crude every other two days.
You are not a chemical engineer because if you are one, you would know that 1m barrel of crude is not needed everyday to produce gasoline of 650k pbd a day.
Show us where the license reads 300k bpd. We want to learn more.
More so, subsequent crudes would be sent via pipelines from NigerDelta to Lekki, once everything around pipe-laying is concluded.
Ships cannot be bringing crude every week till eternity. That’s why DANGOTE laid the pipes. The pipes Dangote layed are to channel gas for the 400MW powerplant and to be used as feedstock for the petrochemical plant.. Secondly..a read carefully before you quote..I didn't say 1m barrel of crude is needed everyday to produce gasoline of 650k pbd a day. If a refinery is pegged at 650,000bpd crude processing capacity.. that refinery will require no less than between 600,000barrels of crude daily at least for optimal production and efficiency .. meaning NNPC should be supplying their 1 million barrels every 2 days.. Thirdly.. the refinery is only granted license to process over 300,000bpd https://punchng.com/dangote-refinery-secures-licence-to-refine-300000bpd-crude/?ampEven the license from DPR is 500,000 bpd license despite having 650,000bpd capacity |

A refinery that can process 650,000bpd will need a stock of at least 1 million barrels of crude delivered every 2 days.. it took NNPC weeks to deliver this..
