Jobs/VacanciesRe: Does The Nigerian Labour Law Protect Nigerian Workers? by chetaobi(op): 9:43am On Jun 02, 2017
Yeah it actually happened to me in my last place of work. I was not made a permanent staff, my salary wasn't increased and worst of all, I was owed a whole year half salary. We need our representatives and senators and the minister of labour to enforce this law in Nigeria. But we can't do that if we keep quiet.

angry
keko14:
Our so called labour law is just theory not practical. I remember my lecturer once told me that when one secure job as a temporary staff after one year the job should b review either to make it permanent or otherwise, but today u see some workers on temporary employment for years.
God will help our country.
Jobs/VacanciesDoes The Nigerian Labour Law Protect Nigerian Workers? by chetaobi(op): 9:00am On Jun 02, 2017
Recently the owner of an artificial hair manufacturing company based in Lagos, a Korean, discovered that the company’s employees (factory workers) were being underpaid, especially when he and the executive board of the company had made provisions for the factory hands to be well paid. A fulltime factory worker was to be paid eighty thousand naira (N80,000.00) a month, while a casual worker was to be paid fifty thousand naira (N50,000.00) a month.

Unfortunately, he found out that full time workers were paid fifty thousand naira (N50,000) a month and a casual worker was being paid twenty five thousand naira (N25,000) monthly. He had to demand that his workers lay down their tools and demand for their diverted salaries. The line managers and seniors and maybe the employee labour unions had diverted these funds to their pockets.

Does the Nigerian labor act or law, protect the interests of Nigerian workers…..their welfare and safety at work? Is it true that it is only multi-national companies who apply these laws to their employees and just a few Nigerian companies who have to apply these laws because of the compliance policies of the big companies they work for?

Do you think that the government is not interested in enforcing these laws but rather collecting taxes and levies from the employers?

Do you think that Nigerian workers are ignorant to learn about their rights in the workplace under the labour act/law?

Do you think the high levels of illiteracy in the country determines this ignorance about the labour law in Nigeria?

Do you think that the desperation to secure jobs in the country ensures that Nigerian workers keep quiet about their unpleasant workplace conditions?

Jobs/VacanciesDo Something Different In Life. by chetaobi(op): 9:49pm On May 14, 2017
A blind man sat on a sidewalk with a sign, "I'm blind please help!”. Passers-by put in a few cents on his plate while others were busy doing their own thing, disregarding him.

A lady walked past the blind man but came back. The blind man felt her shoes and legs while she wrote something on his board. He thought she would put in a few cents on his plate but she left. Few hours later everybody that passed the blind man drop more cents on his plate which overwhelmed the blind man.

The lady walked by again and she noticed that the blind mans plate was full and he felt her shoes and legs again and he remembered that she was there earlier in the day. He asked her what she did when she came around. She told him that she wrote on his board and she wrote the same thing but in a different way.

She wrote "It's a beautiful day and I'm blind and I can't see it!"

Moral of the story, if you want to be the best in what you do, if you want people to interact with you, you need to do things in a different way than others.

Attend Kendor Consulting training programs and you will gain skills that will improve your output rate in your job, business or personal life.

The people that took over in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Nigeria Intelligence Agency are civil servants. They are not political appointees.

They are the most senior civil servants. And the most senior was requested to take over in Acting capacity. If he bypassed the most senior now, it will lead to another uproar.

Open a wordpress blog. It is free to open but if u want to earn money from your blog, you need to buy hosting rights from wordpress approved hosting sites like bluehost or siteground. I suggest you get it from siteground, its cheaper. Minimum price is N15,000 a year or $4 a month or $48 a year. Opening a blog is easy and you can decide how your blog looks using wordpress themes.
