Story for the birds. There are proven oil reserves next to my village in Anambra. My mothers village in the same state has oil residue floating on their local river,it hasn't even been explored yet. All five Igbo States has oil in commercial quantity and 3 of them (Abia,Anambra and Imo) are already oil producing states. So if you think this is about the oil of SS,think again. As for the issue of Igbo president,the Igbos have outgrown that notion. We want our own country,Igbo president is nonsensical. Ask Yorubas if the Obasunjo presidency did anything special for them. Wether you like it or not, this "British invention" called Nigeria will disintegrate one day and this nonsense about who will rule or not rule will end with it.

The core north and south/south with south/east voted based on bigotry,ethnicity and religion but the yorubas and middle belt(north central) voted based on their wishes....and not because of tinubu's wish...d closeness of results from southwes,edo state and middle belt tells more about d ppl's wishes...dont also forget dat the yorubas defiles tinubu's wish and voted for gej in 2011 while north central did vote for gej too.......dis made me believe dat outcome of presidential elections in nigeria ll be determined by s/west and north central.if gej had done well,no body would have tot of buhari

The attitude of Rivers people to Amaechi's position is very funny. They take Jonathan and Amaechi's issue more personal than the Bayelsa man. Jonathan is not this loved in Bayelsa and APC is also not this hated there. As we speak an APC candidate has been elected into the Bayelsa house of Assembly. One would expect Bayelsans not to associate with anything near the party APC but it all seems they are more civil than the Rivers people. Bayelsa is the only state 100% Ijaw yet the place is as calm as Sokoto state since Jonathan lost the election. All this goes to show is the problem of GEJ has always been the wife Patience. Thing is the joy of the average Nigerian at the moment is to large to notice how a people myopically celebrate a loss of one single state to PDP. Whether they like or not Amaechi is a man lots of people who castigate him love to be but what he has can't just be found in shops to buy. Win Rivers or not he has shown he is not a man anyone can shove around unlike many people we know. Rivers people have chosen, they should be allowed to live with whatever outcome their choice brings them, good or bad.

Elections in rivers state are neither ideological nor won by rantings. It is a matter of grassroot structures.
In 8 years as governor and 8 years as speaker, Amaechi has zero structure. As a politician, he is a failure. THere is no better way of putting it. Can you imagine going to the polls with March salaries still unpaid?
He should stop insulting our sensibilities and quietly concede defeat. Dakuku should call Wike and congratulate him.

Having said that Wike's tenure will be interesting. The man is all brawn and no brain. Rivers people have boarded a one chance danfo. It will be fun watching from aside.

for example when jimi lost in Lagos he congratulates opponent and tinubu was happy, saying jimi has good spirit

We received intelligence at 12pm Nigerian time of a Kia Mohave SUV with DHQ 349 plate #, filled with election materials headed to Lagos on instruction of the ADC to president Goodluck Jonathan for illegal election ops to rig out APC in Lagos.

SUV DHQ 349 was airlifted to Lagos from Nnamidi Azikiwe Airport Abuja.

According to the classified report received by NewsRescue, the ballot papers have all been painstakingly thumb-printed already and result sheets filled according to polling unit accredited voters numbers.

Similar consignments in DHQ official vehicles have been shipped to Adamawa, Rivers and other states PDP is desperate to rig.

We advise security authorities and the general public in Lagos to be on the lookout for these vehicles and all suspicious activity.

We advise Nigerians at every polling center to ensure they have result sheets, ballot boxes are empty at the beginning of the process and their votes are immediately counted.

Defend your votes and ballot boxes from being snatched and replaced.

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) in Cross River State, Mr Patrick Okomiso,
has called on the electorate to vote for the All
Progressives Congress (PDP) in the governorship
election on Saturday.
According to Okomiso, Cross River indigenes
should vote the APC that has won the election at
the federal level as Governor Liyel Imoke had
canvassed that the state would not be in an
opposition party.
Okomiso emphasised that since the governor had
been propagating the campaign of the state not
to be in an opposition party while campaigning
for the PDP governorship candidate, Prof Ben
Ayade, said the supporters of the governor and
the PDP candidate in the election should vote
APC for the party not to be in opposition.
Okomiso, who contested for the governorship of
the state in 2012 on the platform of the All
Nigeria Peoples Party before returning to the
PDP, emphasised that this point must not be
lost on the state.
His words: “General Muhammadu Buhari has
won and Cross River State cannot afford to be in
opposition. It would be a difficult thing. So let
Cross River State vote enmasse for APC
governorship candidate so all of us can be in the
mainstream. Moreover, we had a governor who
told us that we cannot afford to be in
opposition. I remember when we were in Ogoja,
when he presented Ben Ayade, he said Cross
River cannot afford to be in opposition, which
means he knew what the state was up to if we
were in opposition. So it is better we take the
governor’s advice, which he advised at that time
for us to vote for APC and let all of us return to
APC.
“After all Cross River State was an ANPP state.
It had never been PDP. Not until Donald Duke
came in and brought in PDP. So let us return to
ANPP. ANPP today is APC. So ANPP is our
route. So let the whole state return and see how
we can deal with our problems.
“It would be unfortunate for us to be in
opposition, because the way the state is now, it
is dead and if it dies a second death, it would be
permanent. The first death is that there is
nothing working in the state. Let us call a spade
a spade. Look at the civil servants in the state.
They all wear hungry faces. We are a tourism
state but we are not attracting enough traffic
here. The state is dying. Let the state be
revived. Children can have free education. They
can have free uniform and be served meals in
school. It is possible with somebody with ideas.
“This is one of the reasons I call on General
Buhari to fight corruption to the highest level. Let
all the monies stolen be returned. We don’t need
to build prison yards. You can be imprisoned in
your house. You are only free to come out when
you refund all the monies that you have stolen.
The monies are not in heaven. They are here on
earth.
“The state has a serious problem and that
problem is that we need to eradicate poverty
from the state. The poverty level in the state is
too high. Look at the roads. You cannot even
travel from Calabar to Ogoja.
“Can one really show the mark of the PDP in
Cross River State. Is it because one went to the
House of Reps or Senate and buys a new car,
builds a new house, travels abroad, does that
that translate to the fact that the state is
prosperous? They are more house girls and
house boys from Cross River than in any other
state of the federation. Nothing is working.
“So let Cross River State come out enmasse and
support APC and we can see what progress is
brought to the state. We were sleeping till our oil
wells were taken away. We had a presidential
campaign and people were saying CARRY GO
meanwhile we do not have roads in the state
and nobody even said we needed anything.”

The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has urged Igbo across the state to push the All Progressives Congress ‘into the lagoon’ by voting for him on Saturday.
Agbaje said this while addressing Igbo traders at the Alaba International Market on Thursday.

The PDP candidate urged them to ignore the threats made by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, that if they do not vote for the APC governorship candidate on Saturday, they would die in the lagoon.

“Nobody can push you into the Atlantic Ocean. Rather, you should use your votes to push the APC into the Atlantic Ocean by voting massively for the PDP on Saturday,” Agbaje said.
He urged the people to ignore the scare tactics being marshalled by the APC, saying, it was the antics of a drowning party.

Agbaje said, “Election is like a snake. You have to make sure you win by killing the snake completely by using your votes to drive the APC out of power. The reason why they are harassing you is because they fear Igbo votes. They will try to do ‘shakara’ for you but you must vote massively for the PDP and protect your votes.”

Agbaje, who was accompanied by his running mate, Alhaja Safuratu Abdulkarim; and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, said the APC had become arrogant because the party had been in power for too long.

He said, “In the last 16 years, the APC has been full of arrogance. This arrogance must end once and for all. Saturday is the time to say enough is enough."
Counselling the audience to eschew violence and refuse to be intimidated at the polling venue, Agbaje urged them to guard their votes.

He said, “God is on our side and power will change hands on Saturday and life will be better for you and your businesses. There will be no oppression again because this election is about freedom from bondage.”
