Is like those bad politician who surrounded Wike government, are now crossing over to Sim side, with their bad advise. Governor should be mindful of them, because no good advice will come from them. Theirs is only on how to share the money, without thinking of the general masses.

Governor mentioned Palliative in his three major promises to LGA , but he is not talking about it now, why?

Fubara: Rivers IGR has grown by over 100%… from N12bn to N27bn monthly
April 20 07:13 2024

BY ADERONKE ONI

Sim Fubara, governor of Rivers, says the state’s internally generated revenue has grown from N12 billion to N27 billion monthly.

Fubara spoke on Friday when he hosted members of the house of representatives committee on public procurement.

The governor said the state is no longer borrowing to undertake projects.

He said his administration has achieved this by effectively managing resources, and ensuring accountability, and transparency.

Fubara said his administration will prioritise the interests and welfare of the people and will make significant investments in three main sectors — education, healthcare, and agriculture.

He said he is operating a transparent government and has nothing to hide, especially when it comes to accounting for public funds.

“All the projects we are doing, we don’t borrow, we are very transparent, we are not hiding anything. That’s why I boldly will say it, the least we do this period is N26 billion and N27 billion,” the governor said.

“The highest they were doing before is N12 billion and N13 billion. We will make sure we apply these funds to areas that will bring positive change — education, healthcare, agriculture.

“We will also do a few roads but the most important thing is these three items.”

The governor encouraged the committee to be upright and stand by the truth at all times.

Increment is per annum and is for every staff, then the third year promotion. Our last promotion stopped at 2022. Meaning additional step will be added for 2023, and another one for 2024, then in 2025 being the third year another promotion will take place.

I heard it's from this month
No visit, no promise, and no action. Until teachers pays solidarity visit to the governor, then he will do more. From the look of things, palliative may not come, since Mr governor stated when he was talking to local government employees who paid him visit, that implementation of existing minimum wage, and implementation of promotion which will start this month's is to caution the effect of economic hardship. (Meaning that the minimum wage and promotion is to caution the effect of hardship).
We need to pay thank you visit to him, and informed him that hardship has overtaken the promotional added money, that palliative is important to us now, while we wait for new minimum wage. Let us hope for new minimum wage by month of May (next month).

It's high time Rivers state NUT "nairaland version" scheduled solidarity and thank you visit to our dear governor to thank him for implementation of triple promotion, also use the opportunity to request for palliative payment to reduce the effect of economic downturn, remind him of his promise to constitute chairman and board members of PPSB, and issuance of promotional letter.

I noticed that, whenever any group shows him that they are with him, he will in return happily do remarkable things for them.

Indeed, we are with him, and we need to prove to him that we love him, and he has all our support, believe me once we do this palliative and promotional letter will come.

Seriously we need to group ourselves to visit him, because NUT will be the last people to visit him, because the governor technically stop their illegal shopping in the name of yearly deduction in our salary.

I am out, we need to schedule time and date, communicate to the Chief of staff, and he will facilitate the courtesy visit for us.
We have lovely and listening governor. Governor with a good heart. It is important we do it within this period.

I received an alert this evening from Access Bank. 3k deducted.
Same with mine, 3k deduction. Instead of adding palliative they are deducting. Instead of paying us palliative of #35,000 they are deducting #3,000.

The truth is that economy has gone so bad. The amount we received before the triple promotion is more in value comparing with the amount we receive now.

Payment of palliative will enhance the happiness and support of the civil servants to government, while lack of it will decrease the people happiness and support.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Rivers State Teachers Recruitment 2012 by Chibuking81(m): 7:01pm On Mar 19
This move was made to impoverish the civil servant. This is common mathematics, government just technically moved the price of everything to times three, thereby reducing the civil servant pay, by three.

For instance, price of dollar was about N500 as of 29 May 2023, currently at N1500 and above. Since then, Fuel price, gas price, cement price has tripled.

As a result of triple movement, FAAC allocation use to be between 500-700 billion, is now times three too.

The worse still remain that workers' salary remain unchanged. Businessmen have triple the prices of their goods. So the whole problem is on the head of the civil servant.

The idea of new minimum wage might be to double the pay of civil servant instead of tripling their salary, thereby technically at long run reducing their pay by 1/3, and their purchasing power, and make more money available to the government.

Every thing has triple in this our country Nigeria, these include: dollar to naira, cement price, fuel price, gas price, including FAAC allocation.

Still, all level salary remain stagnant.

Government should please triple the workers' salary to meet up with the current situation.

We all know d challenges the governor z facing... let's give him d support...I know he will do the needful

Our dear governor has tried for all the civil servant in the state by given all, triple promotion.

Currently, the economic downturn, has crippled the increment in the salary that came with promotion. Dollar to naira was not up to N500 as of 29 May, last year, but today it has gone up to times three.

Price of every thing is now times three: dollar times three, cement price times three, fuel price times three, cooking gas time three. Money shared by FAAC times three.

For us to fit in with current economic situation, our previous salary before promotion has to move up to times three, to meet up with our previous salary before promotion. Possible to times four to have a different.

The wage award will reduce some effect of the economic downturn, as we await the outcome of the ongoing deliberation of new minimum wage. Seriously we need new minimum wage.

Hopeful Rivers state may pay this month. As our governor failed to pay the N35,000 wage award (palliative) last month, it might likely come this month with arrears. As we anticipate the wage award dropping into our account this month as I heard. One should not make his or her budget with it yet, until it becomes reality.

Full List Of States Paying Wage Award To Workers And Amounts PaidPublished 4 hours ago on 14 March 2024By Justina Otio

A Report has indicated that only ten states are paying wage awards to their workers.

Naija News reports that following the withdrawal of petrol subsidy and the attendant pains, the Federal Government among other cushioning policies, began payment of N35,000 wage award to its workers. It has paid for five months.

On Monday, President Bola Tinubu admonished governors, who are yet to pay the wage award to start, pending the conclusion of work by the Tripartite Committee on New Minimum Wage.

He made the appeal while inaugurating agricultural programmes initiated by Governor Umaru Bago in Minna, Niger State.

Since the removal of petrol subsidy, federal revenue has grown significantly. Last month, all the federating units shared over N1trillion.

According to a survey by The Nation only ten states are currently paying the wage award.

They include,

Lagos

Ekiti

Oyo

Osun

Ogun

Ondo

Enugu

Ebonyi

Adamawa

Jigawa

Lagos and Ondo states pay the highest wage award of N35,000 to their workers while Oyo and Enugu are second with N25,000.

Ekiti and Osun pay N15,000 while Jigawa, Adamawa and Ebonyi and Ogun pay N10,000.

Some of the states have also extended the payment to local government employees and pensioners.

Bago announced yesterday that workers in his state would from this month get N20,000 as wage award.

Niger State yesterday approved payment of N20,000 each to its workers.
His Ogun counterpart, Dapo Abiodun, whose administration has been paying N10,000 monthly award to civil servants, added primary and secondary school pupils to the list

Are we not earning the national minimum wage of 30k already? If no, then na waooh! This is cheating.
Let our palliative money be paid abeg.
Ex governor Wike just added N10,000 across without payment of approved minimum wage.

As I heard, the payment of that minimum wage will reflect in our salary this month.
Going by yesterday press release, there is every indication that N35,000 palliative will be paid this month, since it's with immediate effect, today is 13th February, voucher submission has not close.

We should be expecting both approved minimum wage and palliative this month.
Our lovely Governor has the interest of workers at heart, most especially this time the price of foodstuff is skyrocketing, cost of living is moving out of sight. Kano state and Niger state protested, and more will soon join the protest.

Our dear governor will not like the protest to happen in his state, so the immediate effect becomes important to cushion the effect. Our new governor is indeed a God sent, he is talk and do governor, not 419 ners Governor, by the time he finishes with workers, they will be the one to buy his 2027 nomination form. Mr president will have no choice than to support him, Stan and riggers will be doing apprentice.

Governor in meeting today with NULGE leadership and principal officers of the local government, has ordered for:
1. Immediate promotion of all the local government workers of Rivers state, with full financial benefit.
2. Immediate implementation of N30,000 minimum wage for all the local government workers.
3. Immediate implementation for local government workers the N35,000 wage award approved by federal government to cushion the effect of removal of fuel subsidy.

This indicates that we may likely receive Buhari Administration approved minimum wage that last state administration denied us.
Also, there is every tendency that N35,000 palliative may start coming with this month salary.
I celebrated my birth on 4th February, I prayed that our salary this month will experience additional income, in Jesus name, amen.
