Get some perspective, JT is 29.
Who is going to pay that amount for a player with no resale value?
DUH!!!!! They are teams aplenty that will happily fork out that amount of money for J.T(Barca, Real,Man citeh). Certain teams don't really care about resale value. All they care about is the value players would add to their currrent team/squad
You must be a fortune teller to know a 20-yr-old defender won't reach Nesta/Rio level.
Smalling has about 6-8 years to achieve that and i will say he's got a good chance.
If you don't believe me. . . . .Look at Vidic.
This is not about being a fortune teller.
Smalling has no chance of reaching that level(absolutely no chance).
Vidic was already showing signs he'll be a great defender hence the reason Man united, Fiorentina and Inter went in for him. Vidic also did not cost £14M.

J.T is currently valued @ £40M and I definitely don't see him reaching that level(Even Man citeh won't pay that).
And Let's be honest, he ain't no Nesta or Ferdinand talent wise.

Ghana without Essien, Muntari, Paintsil, Mensah, or appiah to mention a few, have put on an incredible performance and I am so, so proud of them. Imagine when all these players are fit and the new additions like Kelvin Boateng from portsmouth, and possibly Mario bolatelli are included into the squad.

Forget Ivory Coast, Ghana are Africa's main hope in this world cup !!!!!!!!!!!
Dream On. Balo has turned down the Ghanian FA's request down on numerous occasions cuz in his words 'I do not feel Ghanian, I am Italian'.

I agree with the bolded parts. Let's not forget that they still fail to get anywhere at the world stage. Let's also remember that we had two west african countries (Senegal and Ghana) who have made it to the quarterfinal stage of the world cup. And I have hope that Ghana can repeat that again and make it to the quarterfinal stage of the world cup. I am actually hoping that the african teams would take it a notch further an make it to the semifinals. Hey, who knows africa might even take the world cup. I might be sounding too ambitious, but you never know. Like one of the posters said, today's football match is not determined by a team's history. They change players and strategies.

Just to show you how unpredictable football is, look at how Egypt is three times in a row african nations cup champions yet repeatedly fail to qualify for the world cup. They demolished algeria 4-0 in the nations cup semifinals yet that same algerian team beat them for the world cup qualifying game.
SENEGAL & CAMEROOUN wink

egypt deserve the win, they were the best side throughout the competition. ghana tried in this game but they are too defensive. they seemed to be holding on for extra time. they are a young team so there's still more to look forward to.

i would be happier if nigeria would win the nations cup but miss the world cup. at least they'd have a trophy. most of the african countries go out in the group stages of the world cup so what's the point? at the end of this year egypt might just be the only african country with a trophy.
True That. They were by a mile the best side in the tournament.

Regarding Egypt being the only african side with a trophy, Ghana currently hold the U20 worldcup.

I agree! They held out very well. Egypt didn't easily crush them like everyone thought. We are still better than arabs when it comes to football. I don't care. They barely beat Ghana. Let's stop hating. A lot of nigerians are just mad Ghana beat them and wanted Egypt to win. BUT LET'S BE HONEST GHANA HELD IT DOWN WELL. IT WASN'T AN EASY VICTORY FOR EGYPT. THE RESULT COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Exactly, it's 75 mins. into the game and it's still a draw. Even if Egypt ends up winning it would not happen as easily as everyone thought they were gonna crush Ghana. Ghana held it out for very long. I know they are determined to prove everyone wrong.
Anyone who thought that knows nothing about football

C'mon Ghana don't let those North Africans win it for the third time in a row. I don't mind two in a row but three  undecided undecided
