Not really, go check out the run he went on after boogie went down from the regular season and into to the playoffs. Oh and AD played in the West. This Bucks team is solid, well balanced with good role players and again, they're in the east.
Yes really. If you take Lebron out of the Lakers and ask AD to lead that team, AD takes the team to His customary High 30s- Low 40s number of wins.

Yes the Bucks are Solid but so were AD's pels. The way Jokic lead His injury ravaged squad to a top 2 seed last season tells me AD has literally no excuses.

Exactly. Giannis style might not be aesthetically pleasing to a purist but there is something about a baller that wants all the smoke on both ends of the floor. Somehow some way they will have their team playing better than their talent levels
The purist sef would rather watch Giannis than say a Harden. There are plenty of players more talented and skilled than Adetokunbo in the NBA but you can literally count on one hand the amount of players that have similar impact on their team's sucess.

Giannis with the 50piece on the Jazz. I want to ask a question. For all of Giannis's limitations if you arm Anthony Davis with this same Bucks roster do you think he can lead them to a 14-3 record even with Middleton's absence
Fat Chance. Their record would have read something like 8-9 and by now the "AD has no Help" crowd would have sprung to Life.

Your Hype is different from your game. Same nonsense we've been hearing about Zion Williamson. He was known for the dunks and all that flashy stuff but it doesn't take a 12yr old to know Zion was overweight and nothing close to LeBron like the media was trying to tell us.
The hype is all about content for the media. It's how they make money. I don't think anyone who is basketball savvy bought that MVP crap after his ROY season and that disappointing playoff run.
Look at Stephen Curry, LeBron James, James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Giannis MVP year and show me if Simmons has shown to be close to what these guys have done. He a decent guy however, he has been very far from any MVP conversation.
No one is saying Your Game is the same as Hype. What we are saying however is that both Scouts and Analyst thought He had MVP Potential. That He has failed to live up to that thus far is no one's fault be His but still does not negate the MVP potential many thought He had. And tbh there was nothing shocking about that statement at that time as He was pretty much the Unanimous No1 pick going to draft that year and more often than not, they do generate that kind of hype.

Your last paragraph butresses my point. Of the aforementioned players only King James came into the League with the sort of Fanfare. Recent examples would be AD and Wiggins. Whist the likes of AD and James were ever willing to improve on their games and took steps in doing just that, Wiggins and Simmons totally refused.

This brings me to the 2009 Draft were two of the players you mentioned were drafted. Blake Griffin was the one with the MVP potential in that draft not Steph or Harden. But hey look at where we are now. Heck let's look at the Bucks and Giannis. Jabari parker(remember the Jabari vs Wiggins debate going into that particular draft?) was the one many thought would be the Franchise player for that organisation nevermind MVP candidate but yet again that proved false.

All in all saying someone has MVP Potential is not guaranteeing that they'll win it. It is exactly as described "Potential". A lot of things has to happen for a player to reach that potential hence why we have a "Floor" and a "Ceiling" for most players.

How can we be watching what Luka Doncic is balling at Dallas and someone will now be mentioning Ben Simmons and you expect me not to laugh
Tbh Currently Doncic has an higher chance of Winning the DPOY than Simmons has an MVP..

I don't know maybe because I was never really a fan of Ben Simmons game so I might have lacked a bit of objectivity. I didn't see any Magic or LeNomad in him. He's not a dynamic scorer that can take over games for one

Maybe a light skinned, taller version of Rajon Rondo or Jason Kidd if Jason Kidd couldn't shoot (which he couldn't initially in fairness)

But my rookie of the year for example was Donovan Mitchell
Probably that. He was neither a Dynamic nor an Aggresive scorer coming into League however many expected Him to develop that part of His game as He became more accustomed to the league. He was already a very good Facilitator and Defender and with His somewhat high BBIQ, everyone thought it was only a matter of time. Alas No.

Kidd's development somewhat gives me hope that maybe all is not lost but then again Kidd was simply a terrible shooter not a Non shooter when He came into the league.

I've never heard or seen Ben Simmons and MVP candidate in the same discussion. MVP is different from Rookie or the Year guys. He could be in the future but right now, nothing about him shows MVP material.
Not currently Bruh. The Future MVP talk started right around the time He was drafted into the league. Remember we are talking about a Dude that generated a lot of hype even before He played a game for LSU.

Ben Simmons MVP potential? Lmaooooooo
Yes you heard right. Most Analysts and scouts thought it was only a matter time before He claimed an MVP. That He has stagnated(all entirely His fault btw) does not negate that fact. FFS this dude's ceiling was Magic Johnson/King James coming into the draft. The only thing holding Him back is His unwillingness to improve His all round game.

Wiggins is really surprising me this season with his performances.... shocked
It looks like something in His head has finally clicked and He now realises He really should be doing better. This Lad has all the talent and physical tools to be a Beast on both ends of the court. Let see if He maintains it right through to the end of the season.

cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy the longer it goes on the worst it gets, its the coach i blame, challenge him
At this point, maybe it's about time we all admit unless things drastically changes, that "MVP Potential" most thought He had isn't simply going to come to fruition. He is currently towing the Andrew Wiggins path.

Ben "4 points" Simmons. Seems the Philly faithfuls are not worried though as they say He does other things that does not show up on the Score sheet i.e Elite Playmaking and Defense.

Luka Doncic is averaging 29-11-9. How is this even possible?? No sophomore slump?

And the Mavs would have an even better record if Kristaps wasn't looking like a scam thus far and the rest of the roster was flotsam
If only the Mavs had someone like Giannis instead of Kristaps, we would be talking about them being a Top 3 favourite for the Title.

I think they make too much money and have too much power in F1 to care about getting better as a team. I can't stand Lewis crying over the radio and how Mercedes repeatedly screw Bottas but if that's what it takes to win, I'll take it. Ferrari deserves every loss they got this season.
Max in a Mercedes or Ferrari would be something to watch.
See as a Brit, I am a massive Fan of Lewis having followed His career for years even before F1. Here is hoping He wins more Titles and gets to the Magical 100 Grand Pix wins mark.

Tbh I don't think you can totally absolve Seb of any blame here. He's had a totally horrific year If we are tbh. And I don't think He is going anywhere. Leclerc would be the one to giveway if there are to be any changes.

16/41 FG with 11FT.. That's not a monster performance. That's pure volume shooting 8/22 on 3s. Please don't get me wrong. He's like the biggest offensive player out there but this performance wasn't efficient. They got the W though.
I slightly disagree Bro. Whilst the way He scored those points might have been low on efficiency ratings, putting up almost half a century of points is still a monster stat line regardless. Mind you, the Rockets won't go far in the post season If He continues down this road.
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by chic2pimp(m): 4:56am On Nov 17, 2019
Another Monster 49 points game from Harden. The NBA might as well just hand Him the scoring title as no one is going to catch Him. The only select few that stand a chance won't be allowed to shoot that much by their respective coach.

Didn't wan't to get on the Kawhi hate train early on because it seemed petty and in poor taste. Plus i actually like Kawhi and i didn't the media to make me hate him.

But Kawhi had a legitimate shot at indubitably claiming the title of "Best Player in the World" and two things have undeniably happened so far this season.

1. The Toronto Raptors he supposedly carried have proven that they are no slouches.

2. Had a good opening night and a couple of good games after that but his individual play has largely been underwhelming so far this season. He's looked like a certified bum at certain stretches.

Now this is not to take away from the clippers and how good of a team they are and how much better they can and will be. I know Kawhi will probably take things up a notch come playoffs and guess what? Paul George is getting ready to return. But again from an individual standpoint, he's sh-t the bed so far. Man imagine if LeBron did what Kawhi did today, we wouldn't hear the end of it, ever!
Didn't Kawhi already indicate that He does not really care about the Regular season when He said "I don't care about winning an MVP"? . It looks like He is simply just going through the motions and coasting. I can't say I blame Him tbh as He knows firsthand the Glory and accolades that comes with doing extremely well in the post season. King James should do likewise seeing as He actually does need the rest considering His age.

I know the Eastern Conference standings might have said otherwise but the Raptors really did have the Best Team in the East last season especially with the Addition of Kawhi. You basically swapped the Best Player of 50+ win team with a vastly superior player.

AD is a really great player but the pedestal he's being put on by some is just ridiculous. Suggesting he can't be compared to anyone or his level cannot be reached?

That was why I brought the example of Harden. If Harden was not handed the keys to his own team would he be at this level today? When he was leaving OKC who in their right minds would have predicted he would be this great? If you suggested he could be as good as a D.Rose at the time in the future you would be laughed out of the country but look at what happened?

Even Kawhi is another example. You just never know and that's all I'm saying
Absolutely!....For a Lad that has enjoyed little post season success, the Pedestal is constantly being put on is almost somewhat cringeworthy. Phenomenal player but let's calm our ti..ts down please.
