Congratulations dear AzariahYaa: Finally, ICES came through!!
Registered 7th January,2019
Transcript was sent from my School to them on 14th January, 2019 and was received same day
Evaluation was completed 1st April,2019.
I received an email from them on 3rd April,2019(this was after I had bombarded them with emails asking for updates on the evaluation of my transcript).
Got an email from UPS that it would be delivered today, 8th April,2019 and Yes!!it did...Hallelujah!! Another hurdle crossed!
In all, it took approximately 11weeks for ICES to evaluate my transcript.
Meanwhile, my hubby registered same day he did mine, and his evaluation was completed and sent back to Naija within 3weeks! We believe it is because his transcript was from a UK University.
Now we are sitting gallantly in the pool with CRS 453... May the next draw favour us all! |

Please @bolded 1.Can you explain more. Does it mean Alberta recognises only WES Engineers? 2.What about other provinces? Thanks. Avidreader748: It depends on what you want. If you intend settling in Alberta, you may want to use WES because you would be needing it for you to become a registered engineer eventually. Wes seems to be the fastest. But it comes with waec wahala.
Ices is less complicated but takes 14 weeks.
1qas takes 3 months and above.
So if you want a fast ECA and don't mind the extra money, you may stick with Wes. If not, choose any of the other two. |

Ask yourself this question.. If everyone in the 440+ are in your shoes, will they wait for the scores to drop? People are looking for ways to upgrade their scores or upgrading their scores and you are asking this. Please don't wait for uncertainties because nobody knows tomorrow. Run 4:40 and goan write IELTS biko. Scandinavian02: Dear Seniors in the house.
We have been waiting in the Pool with a CRS of 448 since February 16th and from the trend, I don't think I can wait any longer.
My spouse alone did the IELTS that gave us the CRS score, I don't want to miss the next drraw hence wants to register for CBT without preparing just to earn 5-10points and boost our CRS for next draw.
Please, can I just walk in and write normal English and score at least 5 points to enable us get ITA in a fortnight? |

Congratulations! May Canada favour you. JustinTrudeau: Fellow citizens,so this is it... I Decision to travel: December 2015 after my NYSC.
I started scrambling for foreign scholarships, engaging agents on how to obtain US visa with ease, how gullible i was then. I fell into the wrong hands and all my savings depleted. I even joined the students usa visa thread where the likes of lagosismyhome were elders then. Just know something today, agents are not your friend, all they wanna do is enrich their pockets. Fastforward to 2017,my brotherinlaw said he knows one agent that can help me with Canada, i was reluctant at first, agent again. I finally visited the guy in his office and he mesmerized me with juicy details about Canada and Australia,i met some gullible ones there too nodding their head like agama lizard in affirmation. He told me to write IELTS first and aim for a good score, he was not specific. I left his office that day thinking sebi its just English and this agents seem nice.
IQAS dealt with me too,i won't bore you with that, see my IQAS timeline below. The next time i hear I before u hear Q i don run Application date: 27/07/2017 Transcript sent: 04/09/2017 Acknowledgement by IQAS 11/10/2017 ECA completed: 09/11/2017 ECA received via courier 04/12/2017
Lo and behold my IELTS of 4months was delivered to my house 2 days after i received my ECA and it came out positive.
Listening: 8.5 Reading:8.5 Speaking: 7 Writing : 7
Come and see your PM cry of joy then,i was there was a Sophie by my side then, well sha maybe i will talk to Ifeoma77 about that later . I dived into the pool with #435. That was how IRCC decided to increase scores,CRS refused to drop. Which kain life be this. That was how i dug up my ATS and since IQAS does not evaluate professional cert i needed to cough out another cash for WES. I researched online if i can merge 2 ECAs as 2 or more. Happytbaby came to the rescue,God bless you Happy wherever you are. She advised i do a small table with name of institution, certificate obtained, year of study, assessment body and ECA number and back it up with LOE.

Na so oo. The journey after PPR ladymarshall: Haha! Is anything worthwhile ever easy? I think that going is the easiest part sef. PPR is only the beginning. Living, settling and getting a job in Canada seems even more tougher than going. I have not slept since yesterday. Spent all night on Quora, Canadavisa, google home page and the living in canada thread NL reading migrants' experiences in Canada, their survival strategies, job hunt efforts, their happiness and regrets etc. So many varied experiences from people with different nationalities, some are happy, others are bitter, some settled in fine quickly, others are still finding their feet after years. This is indeed a personal journey, only you can own it and make the best out of it with information and networks. The major lessons I could get out from last night reading is the importance of managing your expectations (there are positives and negatives), keeping an open mind to what you get, while still being ambitious and striving for better opportunities.
Do not be discouraged. Take this journey one step at a time. And see it as a training for you. When you have questions or have the slightest doubt, keep asking. There is no stupid or dumb question, only different levels of understanding. It is why we are here |

I strongly agree with the bolded bunmioluwa: I don't think 8777 in IELTS is all about sense o, if it is many people will get it once. There are first-class and intelligent students who had to attempt IELTS 5 times before having 8777 only because they kept missing 0.5 in one component.
The guy might have also looked for 0.5 many times. It is well o. |

Decision to Travel: November 2017, after proper analysis of the inherent benefits.
Family composition: 2
POF composition: 25 % from pension fund and 75% fixed deposit
Post AOR:
- Provided reference letter of PA in desired IRCC formats.(no payslip provided) - Thought it wise to provide reference letter for supporting applicant since majority of funds came from supporting applicant, just for 2 previous jobs though. Reference letter for current job was not included. Also no payslips. Wanted to keep application as simple and straight forward as possible.
A wise woman once told us that there is always something that needs an explanation, hence we included LOE to explain change of name, travel history and police certificate.
A separate LOE was included in the POF placeholder to properly explain composition of funds.

ECA: 30th March, 2017 IELTS: 6th June, 2017 (LRWS – 8.5, 9, 7, 7.5) CRS Score: 449 ITA: 25th April, 2018 AOR: 10th May, 2018 Medicals Passed: 24th May, 2018 Interview: 14th February, 2019 Remedicals Request: 14th February, 2019 PPR: 15th February, 2019 COPR: 26th March, 2019
Interview
My interview was scheduled to hold 14th February in Accra. I was asked to come with just about everything pertaining to my application. Even the job I got after AOR which I didn’t inform IRCC of, I decided to take my employment letter and payslips along. On the interview day, I intentionally got there few minutes before so I won’t have to wait for long but I didn’t get called in till over an hour later. I submitted my documents at the reception.
The interviewer told me the purpose of the interview was to determine my eligibility. All of my documents were thoroughly checked (I arranged them in an orderly manner using office clips but when I entered the interview room, they were all spread out on a table). It turned out that they needed to be absolutely certain of my marital status and that I understood the implication. I applied as married but life happened and I became separated which I informed IRCC of along with the necessary document. The questions were mostly personal and the interviewer wanted to be sure that POF was still intact.
In the end, I was told that I passed the interview and I would be issued a remedicals request as the one I applied with already expired. My interviewer also said that due to the peculiarity of my case, a meeting with another colleague (abi their boss) was necessary but that I definitely will be getting an ADR before PPR can be issued.
Immediately I stepped out of the premises I switched on my phone and remedicals request was waiting inbox. For those of us at AVO (especially those who got interviewed), remedicals request is to PPR what John the Baptist is to Jesus. Right there and then I knew all is well. After walking aimlessly for some minutes out of excitement, I took a cab to a Chinese restaurant and gave myself a treat. Mama I’ve made it!
My journey was a long and bumpy one but las' las', na God win. |
