Be strong dear!
You will get it done.

You can still go ahead to write IELTS first.

AdetonaDami:
UI does not even have any plan on releasing MSc result anytime soon talkless of saying I want to have my ECA done, only God knows when this wait will be over. This journey is really not for the weak, getting depressed and getting tiring to me as a single applicant.

Thought I could wait but I think I need to find a job just to keep myself busy, another thing is to find a job in this country. I just tire scatter

For everyone on this journey, may God give us the strength to endure and speed processing.
Congrats to all the clinchers in every step cos each step nah story.

Really!
Why did my friend's ECA come out as none with ICES.

Thetherapist:

@chicyclass it is and would be evaluated as such. PT's are just unfortunate
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by chicyclass(f): 10:23am On Mar 27, 2019
Excuse me!
How can you make that assertion "bad belle", very ridiculous of you. It says a lot about you.

My friend evaluated his and there was no professional anything written for him with ICES.

I have evaluated my ECA, so your assertion of "bad belle" is rubbish.

Daratun:
It is clearly stated on IRCC's website that optometry is a professional degree and WES or whichever body you use evaluates it as such. Don't let bad belle people discourage you.

That's what it is.
It is not listed as a professional degree.

Phaytie:
Pls, which body will give the ECA for optometrist. Medicine and pharmacy assessment is done by their repective councils in Canada.
And WES only evaluates degree as 4years bachelor degree, which it is not. So which body evaluates optometry degree as a masters degree equivalent, which it is.

Pls, I really need help and answers.
I was considering IQAS.

I've sent several emails which they always respond to.It took them 11 weeks from November to February to tell me that my transcript wasnt sent from the right email address. Then I contacted my school and it was finally sent from the official email address on 21 February. I contacted ices to know when my ECA would finally be ready, only for them to tell me that it will take another 14 weeks from 21 February. I can't wait. I just paid for wes.

EXPRESS ENTRY JOURNEY PART 1

ICES came through this morning. cheesy
Registered 6th Dec 2018
Transcript sent from school 12th Dec 2018
Arrived ICES 19th Dec

I wrote a mail to them, they replied that packages from earlier dates were still being opened. Chai!
Dec 21st 2018, they finally acknowledged receipt.

Then I read on the thread that they don't accept statement of results and I used it. Chineke!.
I committed it in prayers that they don't mail me on the 10th week for incomplete evaluation.

Ladies and Gentlemen.
I got a mail on Wednesday that my ECA is on the way. I jumped eeh. I wonder what will happen when I get IELTS and PPR. angry.
This morning, my hard copy was delivered *MSc Physiotherapy*.
It took 14 weeks mehn.

I used statement of results. In case you want to hibernate well at night, tell your school to equally send it with the transcript as advised here.
We thank God.

Make I dey write my story small small because the fear of PPR marking scheme is the beginning of wisdom grin grin

Oh dear!
It's not over yet.
This will pass.

xtosync:
Hi there,
So the anti climax of this long almost two years ordeal is ending with a refusal due to incorrect NOC code. I applied with NOC code 0213 - Computer and Information System Manager.

This is what I should have done two years back, but I honestly thought I was on the right course. I am sharing so that it serves as a lesson to others getting into the process. Seek all the advice and counsel you can especially wherever you have doubts, even if it make you look or sound like a slowpoke.

In 2017, I spent more than a month confused about the actual NOC code for me. A first search on google for NOC code for cybercafe manager will pop out 0631 -Restaurant and Food service Managers. This is totally not what we are as cybercafe operators in general. so I spent quite a reasonable amount of time on the net and settled for NOC 0213 which had Computer and other related service manager as a sub in the title group. This seems more appropriate to me for my job title.

With description help from wonderful friends, the following are a basic summary of what I do:

Own and run a cybercafe
offer general computer services such as printing, scanning, typesetting
some software installation
sales of computers and its accessories etc
give basic computer lessons to customers/clients
have 2 employees
also offer computer related services to clients as per contracts to set up their cafe, computer units/rooms and logistics.

Over the years as owner and manager of the cybercafé the following are specific responsibilities and duties performed:

• Develop action plans and procedures for my team performance to meet operational goals and organizational objectives.

• Develop strategic and operational plans for managing, execution and measuring results of the cyber centre.

• Perform research on new business ventures and proactively identifies risks and opportunities for improvement of the business.

• Determine the budget and periodic expenditures of the business centre.

• Occasionally conduct meetings with clients to discuss system specs, performance, needs, costs and timelines.

• Execute contract jobs that involve procurement and supply of stationeries, computers and its peripherals

• Manage project teams of variable skill sets and size dependant on project scope.

• Hire, train and guide store employees in delivering excellent customer service.

• Assign rules and responsibilities to employees for operational effectiveness.

• Monitor and manage store staff/personnel by regularly communicating and conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve operational performance.

• Ensure that the office and environment is maintained according to proper sanitation and cleaning standards thereby making it safe and inviting for customers.

• Assist customers when they have trouble or questions using computer systems and application software

• Perform software installations, system maintenance, backups and networking, troubleshooting on office and clients computers.

• Provide services such as printing, scanning, internet, online registrations, downloading and other computer related operations.

• Ensure that machineries, computers and other equipments are in good working condition.

• Keep accurate records of system performance, logs and inventories of the business centre

• Set Administrative rights on computer systems, program tickets and number of minutes or hours customers use the computer or internet on networked computers.

• Banking and maintaining accounting databases by entering data using computer application software

• Preparing lesson notes for students, training and teaching student/clients on the use of computers and its applications.

• Ensure excellent customer care.

Went to interview in Accra and was told that I choose the wrong NOC.

So I want you guys to help me find the right NOC for someone that own and operate a cybercafe. Its quite heavy on me, I must confess, but I am taking it in like a man. Just incase I can reapply please someone should help me with the right NOC for a Cybercafe Manager/Owner.

5, 6, 7 or more heads are better than 1 or 2.

This is not the testimony I was hoping to drop after a year and 6 months wait, but a lesson for one is a lesson for many. Never too late to do the right thing. smiley

special thanks to Zutlin, Abubuyaya. You guys give me the courage to do this.

Natalie27:
hello everyone , I just thought to drop this here to encourage anyone going through the IELTS hurdle.
I wrote the exam for the first time in July 2018,I was really confident about it
,*after all if i had studied french ? Writing and speaking for 4years and even done my dissertation and défense en français what could be so hard about this English exam .. Plus I had written TOEFL before and aced it.. little did I know IELTS was listening to all my mind bragging..

First result LSWR. 9,8,6,7.5 I saw this result at about 12.57am and cried myself to sleep .. I requested for a remark and it was upgraded to 6.5.

I got another opportunity to write in October (because of my work schedule , it is sort of hard to get weekends off). This time I even bought ielts liz videos .. results LSWR .. 8.5,7.5,6.5,7.5

I asked for remark again but it came out negative ..

January I was ready.., this was a new year.. new grace and new everything . I decided to try a new environment . I was fasting for the new year and asking St Joseph to intercede .I decided to try something new MOD. Although the examiners are not as organised as BC i found the environment more suiting because the exam takers were fewer than what you would have in a BC venue. It was a school in lekki and it was such a peaceful environment ... Moreover I had used ielts advantage to prepare and I understood better what was expected of me .. for every essay structure I knew what every sentence should contain, however When i saw my results I was devastated ..

LSWR 8,7.5,7,6.5

I did not give up because I had my eyes on the prize and I knew the next one was definitely the last .. so I wrote again March 2nd ... ladies and gentlemen results are........

LSWR : 9,7,7.5,75

I was elated when I saw this ... my family and close friends called as if l had told them I had gotten the golden mail..

Moral of this is that we should never give up instead research and find it what works for you .. for me I used ieltsonlinetest to practice reading and listening and according to glittering star did not find the real exam so daunting .. i never practiced speaking .. In fact I was expecting less because I almost missed this last speaking (story for another day) then for writing I practiced with the real answer script so during the main exams I could tell when I had reached 150 or 250 without even counting .. Plus i focused on knowing the structures of every way type and reading different sample types .. I could say I wrote just 3 essays while practicing ..

Thank you e fam... I am a silent reader but you guys here are amazing .... May all our heart desires come through .

My dear, it takes them 2 months to acknowledge.
Just cool down and gather patience.
Spouse's transcript was sent in November, they acknowledged receipt in January.

ThePath:
Can someone help with the correct contact information to mail iqas? I’ve been mailing them but no response. For weeks now they’ve been saying they are waiting for my transcript after finally acknowledging receipt of my application, now I have evidence from dhl to show it was delivered and signed for. I don’t know what their deal is really.

Thank God, you finally made it.
Trust me! Your PPR will come in a month. Amen! 10x
NameUserNo:
I just want to thank everyone who encouraged me after my emotional outburst last year, in part 6, about being frustrated after writing ielts unsuccessfully and was stuck in 6.5 writing after six attempts in nine months. I was encouraged to give it a break, practice well and take the exam again, which I did (someone even volunteered to contribute to my registration fee). Thankfully, I passed this time around! L:8.5, R:8.5, S:8.0 W:7.0.

I am so grateful to this wonderful family, it wouldn't have been possible without you guys!

That said, please I want to ask, how can someone claim points for an employment he was paid cash? I worked in a small company where I was paid cash. The employer didn't issue any pay slip and I don't have any proof on my end other than my employment letter. How do I go about it? Because this job is crucial to my eligibility in terms of continuous work experience.

Once again, thanks every one!
