Politics › Re: House Of Representatives Approves Tinubu’s $2.35 Billion Loan Request by chidiokay: 5:36pm On Oct 29, 2025
Putinofrussia:
All the loans are under the $21.5 billion MTEF that was approved by NASS earlier this year
It is going to be taken until the loans reach $21.5 billion by 2026 and beyond .The loans belong to FG,States and LG.
States and LG loans are channelled through the FG.Lenders don't loan them directly but through the FG that they can hold responsible.
The approved package is more complex than a single $21.5 billion loan and includes several components:
External Loans: $21.19 billion in direct foreign loans, €4 billion, and ¥15 billion. The loans are expected to be disbursed over a six-year period from international lenders, including the World Bank, African Development Bank, and China Development Bank.

Domestic Instruments: Up to $2 billion to be raised in the domestic market using a foreign-currency-denominated instrument.
Domestic Bonds: Approximately ₦757 billion in government bonds to settle outstanding pension liabilities under the Contributory Pension Scheme.
Grant: A $65 million grant.
Allocation of funds
The loan is earmarked for projects across various critical sectors in Nigeria:
Infrastructure: Including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the reconstruction of the Eastern rail line from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri.

Human Capital Development: Allocations for health, education, and social safety net programs.
Security, Agriculture, Power, and Housing.
Pension Obligations: A portion is designated for clearing pension arrears.
If we were in a classroom or four walls of University i would have clapped for you

All these means nothing where our notorious politicial exist,.... huge sum of that loan will be looted, shared and embezzled ... that's the conclusion paragraph missing in your lecture

There was downtrend in the first quarter but we bounced back from August.

For the money to be useful as projects for the VAT payers is the koko
Did you just call a VAT surge a bounce back ....

VAT is a % of total cost goods/service purchase ... e.g. gas sold previously at 1100 with Vat 7% = #77 vat per kg

because of inflation, Gas now is 1600 × 7% = 112 vat per kg ... technically your total will be an increase, applicable to all

its not a mystery such increase does not have any positive impact on the economy cos it as nothing to do with an increment in consumption, when demand is high producer scales up production thats what the economy needs to respond to growth

Our increased vat is coming as a result of incessant inflation on prices of goods & services

Cbn is no longer subsidizing naira like that anymore.

Official rate is now very close to the parallel rate. If it wasn't, imported fuel would be in theory below 700 naira.

Cbn can't afford subsides on the naira. When they are not even meeting up with subsides on power . Dollar inflows have fallen because oil price no dey favor us. And oil revenue is a major sauce of forex
Well that is the forma news, with the recent update CBN pump Fx into oil importation whats the catch ??

i am one of the few people alive that wont believe institutions just Do things for no reason, no love in business

You said, " close to parallel rate" meaning a difference thus exist .. mathetically thats "subsidizing" ...if you like graduate from oxford, harvard or oscar college .. it is subsidy, leave grammar for pocohantas undecided
if after everything Tinubu govt has put Nigerians through if CBN is paying marketers to import fuel that means they punished us for nothing

we have so many genuine demands CBN should be more vested in subsidizing esp. manufacturers not some rings of thieves parading themselves as marketers ..
As a matter of Reasonable, CBN should only be vested in ventures that promote local productivity
Business › Re: CBN Pumps $1.25 Billion Into Fuel Import, Others by chidiokay: 8:15am On Oct 27, 2025
Putindbutt:
So what's the big deal here?. Some economic illiterates will read the headline and start screaming. The oil sector has been liberalized, the market is open to every player. If oil marketers go to the CBN to request for foreign exchange to import fuel, that's fair game in the sector. The fact is, we cannot even stop importation in the next 5years to put it reasonably. Even though Dangote is already trying to expand its capacity to 1.4million barrel per day. The marketers will still go to the buyers that sell cheaper to them and best serves their interests.
The good thing in all of this, is the fact that Nigeria spent $1.2b on fuel importation in the first three months of this year which is a remarkable improvement compared to the time we were spending a whooping $20 billion on fuel importation aside from the subsidy that would still be paid on it. This gulped about 40% of our foreign exchange revenue. Now we have been able to turn the tide. With the expectation of more refineries coming up like BUA & a few others as well as the expansion of the capacity of Dangote refinery before the year end, we expect even much less importation and much less foreign exchange demand for fuel importation.
No one as said Marketers shouldnt import But the whole ideal of CBN collaborating with Marketers to provide, wakes the question " subsidy" ??

if Cbn is providing forex for marketers, if not at subsidized rate , then why ??

i want to weigh you,

If Fashola came and did well, and you can admit that, then were do you think I'm wrong in saying Lagos has improved?
Again, I shouldn't say Lagos has improved and you say no it has not and give me an evidence of something that can be improved because it tells me you think I should wait until perfection has been achieved to say something. And that there is a place where perfection exists (world benchmark you're calling it).

The North is very nice and very well developed. It also has a lot of poverty, some of the worst poverty in the world. But If i said the north has improved over the years, I'm telling a fact based truth. I can also say there are ppl in IDP camps and that's true as well. I don't have to wait for the IDP camp to disappear to cite the rapid development that has been happening in the north over the past 20-15 years.
Is it how Fashola left lagos that it is now, cleaniless and security wise, are the BRT buses well maintained and available left Fashola left it
when Ambode was governor for 4yrs its visible development across board esp. mainland there is no local government you will visit nd wont see ongoing project But today are we progressing Mediocre, owambe Apc party, sharing rice is what they prioritize

OGa you cant play smart with me, i didnt has for perfection,. leave how i judge You say that improvement in lagos sebi people are reading as well

yoy can say there is "Growth" but in real sense Nigeria is "underdeveloped" we havent hit that benchmark of development yet

Lagos used to not have street lights, in very recent memory. When the street lights were installed, they were not obeyed. Today people are obeying but many are not functioning. Instead of saying 'Lagos needs to fix the broken street light on this road or that road' people will say 'THERE IS NOT DEVELOPMENT NIGERIA IS FINISHED WE ARE SUFFERING', which to me is a very pointless dramatic way of talking and thinking.
I can't even say Lagos has improved without people who know there has been great improvement over the past 15-10 years arguing with me.

Unless we're supposed to wait for perfection to begin to say something good has happened. That is the real issue.
Nigerians believe some places (US) have achieved perfection, and Nigeria is the opposite.
So when an airplane collides in the US, they will say an airplane has collided. When an airplane collides in Nigeria, it's 'NIGERIA IS FINISHED, OUR GOVERNMENT IS KILLING US, THERE IS CORRUPTION, NIGERIA IS HELL ON EARTH'. This is an very unusual way of thinking and talking and I have seen enough to say it's a problem because you can't even talk about reality without people spiraling into psychosis.
i expect you to know the difference btw street light and traffic light ... i said lagos is dark at night on most roads .. i once got robbed inside traffic at gunpoint

Why do they have to wait until for people to complain taya ... are there not people whoses job is to maintain this facility we have local govt around they dont have eye or what ?? wait for people to teeach you your job is plainly incompetence n poor

Lagos have improved in some Ways no doubt But the rots are still there, bad roads, glood, hoodlums threat and darkness

IF i say No development in Nig. follow me to the luth hospital or govt hospital n see patient sleep on the floor, see patient bath with pure water in 2025
IF i say No development in Nigeria follow me to the East ... and see 1st hand

There are development ofcus but its nothing when rated to world benchmark .. thats the point

Nigeria is significantly better than it was 20 years ago, 15 years ago etc. You can say you want improvement without pretending otherwise. When you cannot even admit something good has happened and want good things, you'll confuse yourself.
I didnt say we cant compare, my point is Us population size is × 4 of Nig. by common sense there flight inflow n outflow is over Nig. flight flow thats make it inbalance for comparison
However the accident you are trying so hard to discredit US for is jus 0.0028% thats nothing compare to number of people that die becos of bandit in Nigeria per month

infact i we say it loud ... 0.0028 flight accident in Us per year is not " Bad" cos accident is inevitable, it can only be reduced

If Nigeria's total debt is 152 Trillion, is it reasonable to ask that has it not all been borrowed under Tinubu?

The mumu also knows that fx adjustment means our debt in Naira terms went up, while in Dollar terms it has been stable or even going down.

Lastly the fool knows that govt generaly borrows to meet up with budget and payback as revenue flows in. Tinubu has the biggest budget ever and will continue to borrow to execute. He also have the buggest revenue ever, meaning he is paying back as he is borrowing.

This shirt term borrowing keeps the economy rolling
Why not just accept like Father like son,. ... how do you rationalize ×2 debt despite removing all " subsidies" ...

All past Govt paid subsidies on basics for Nigerans, yet what they borrowed is less compared to what Tinubu that is not subsidizing as borrowed within a year .. how do you realize that

Was it not Tinubu that told Nigerians they've met Revenue target for the budget as at August .... is it not ridiculous that such govt ois still borrowing more

I think there were close to 200 plan crashes in the US around the time trump took office. I agree with you that our light situation is abysmal. The main thing I'm addressing is that nigerians at this point are addicted to down talking Nigeria, and the down talking is creating real life consequences. People are going to Libya to become slaves because all they have heard in their life is Nigeria is the worst place in the world. Some are going to Mauritania to be slaves where there has never been light or gen talkless of power uh.

Have you looked at the past realistically? Why are you talking as if 2023 election was perfect? As if you didn’t see all the tippexing that happened on result sheets.

And did you say yes that Tinubu won Rivers in 2023?
Planted or not, it sounds tew logical and convincing esp. now we have opposition shooting for " Coalition" . .. i believe there is rigging and the best rigger won But still Atiku & obi division favoured Tinubu votes

The fact that Tinubu lost Lagos and FCT, osun and partly north centre is enough attestation " votes count"

2ndly, that only the presidential result irev log failed to open as promised tells us as Nigerians " Rigging happened" but just that the best rigger won

Because the government considers churches as responsible organisations, they fund some UK churches so that they can help their active poor members.

However, Nigerian churches in the UK keep lóóting the money grin as they cannot properly account for it. Now, the government is taking action. It didn't start with MFM; Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo's church was among the first to be caught in the mess.
