Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has denied accusation by PDP that he donated N70 million to the book launch of the President’s wife, Aisha Buhari, in Abuja last week despite having not paid his workers salaries.

He also decried what he termed ‘media war’ against him by opponents bent on subverting his effort to take the state higher. The governor, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Kingsley Fanwo, in Lokoja, on Sunday, said he would not be cowed by the antics of his opponent, adding that “the allegation that he donated N70million at a book launch organised by the First Lady, smacks of laughable political desperation to brazenly slaughter truth.”

Fanwo said: “The book launch was organized by the nation’s First Lady to garner support for the families of the abducted Chibok girls which was attended by Governor Yahaya Bello to lend support to the traumatized families of the girls. As a political leader and a parent, Governor Bello is touched by the plight of the girls and their families, hence the will to identify with the project.

“The book launch was televised to the whole world and no one announced what anyone donated. Governor Yahaya Bello did not donate N70million as insinuated by the people who are turning opposition politics to a comical adventure”

Nigerian singer D’banj revealed during a radio interview in South Africa that his mother has been putting pressure on him to get married‚ and more importantly‚ that he’s a “blesser.”

This is the unedited narration(shared by journalist Seun Oloketuyi) of the neighbor of a woman who constantly locks her children in their flat in Onitsha while she goes off to work in Ebonyi state. I personally think this is wrong. What if there's any form of danger…how would these children escape?

I want you guys to analyse these two pictures very well,it's been bothering me but I don't know what to do..
THIS is where I live in Onitsha,and this pic is my neighbour's flat,we share the ground floor..
The mother of the house is a teacher who teaches in Ebonyi state,nd leaves Onitsha everyday to Ebonyi..She has 5 kids,12,6,3,2 and 1 year respectively. .she travels with the one year old everyday and locks the rest at home..she goes out with the key..so the 12 year old is the one I circled in the pic,I came home for lunch now and I saw the boy crying there,his mom locked him in that place and locked the younger ones in the house,ofc she took the keys ..Prior to this time,she used to lock them all in the house,but the 12 year old will scale thru the toilet window which is the no 1 picture,go out and leave his younger ones in the house from morning till night.Yesterday,his mom came bk around 4pm,earlier than expected and he didn't come bk till 7pm..that's what prompted her to leave him in the mini cell with no food or water.. Firstly , I think locking kids in the house is a bad idea.

Secondly, I don't know what to think,how to advise her and all coz she needs help.. A 12 year old boy scaling ?his younger ones are watching ,what do u think will happen?

This is Nkannah Bridge, the bridge that connects Arochukwu with neighbouring state Akwa Ibom. The bridge is in a very terrible state and needs urgent attention. Parts of the iron protector is off, even some bridge part has been replaced by wood as can be seen in the pic above. This is not safe however we look at it. More photos below;

Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has written to the Chinese government to withdraw the $2 billion loan being sought by the federal government of Nigeria.



In the letter dated April 12, 2016, with reference number EK/GOV/28/10, addressed to President Xi Jinping of China and delivered by Chief of Staff to the governor, Barrister Dipo Anisulowo in Abuja on Thursday, through the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Gu Xiaojie, Fayose said some of the projects for which the loan was being sought were not captured in the controversial 2016 budget, which has been sent to the President by the National Assembly for his assent.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Brigadier-General Sule Zakari Kazaure as the new Director General of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC).

In a posting and appointment letter dated April 11, 2016, obtained by newsmen, former NYSC DG, Brigadier-General Olawunmi, has been appointed as acting commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

Olawunmi confirmed his new appointment in a text message to NYSC members on Wednesday, adding that their April 2016 allowance was also ready.

The message said: “My dear Corps Members of 2015 Batch A, I can confirm that your April 2016 allowance will hit your accounts latest tomorrow afternoon Thursday 14 April 2016 as you are passing out.”

Troops clear armed bandits camps in Zamfara and Katsina states, says public should lookout for suspected armed bandits with gunshot wounds


In continuation of the clearance of all known camps and hideouts of cattle rustlers, armed bandits and other criminals in the North West geo-political region of the country, troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army under the auspices of Operation SHARAN DAJI, have cleared suspected armed bandits camps in Zamfara and Katsina States today.



In Zamfara State, they raided and destroyed suspected armed bandits camps at Rafe and Ajah forests in Gusau Local Government Area. During the operation, the troops killed 4 bandits, while some escaped with gunshot wounds. The troops also recovered 5 AK-47 rifles and 11 AK-47 rifle magazine, 205 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition and 25 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO).


In a related development, following a tip off, the troops carried out a joint operation in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State where they arrested 17 cattle rustlers that escaped from Zamfara State. The troops recovered 930 cattle, 210 sheep and 20 machetes.


Consequently, it is important to implore members of the public especially those in Zamfara and Katsina States to be more vigilant and security conscious. They should be on the lookout for those suspected armed bandits with gunshot wounds and report same to the nearest security agencies.

Troops of 152 and 155 Task Force Battalions at Operation LAFIYA DOLE in conjunction with troops of Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) from Cameroon, conducted a massive joint clearance operation of suspected Boko Haram terrorists yesterday Monday, 11th April 2016 along Nigeria-Cameroon borders.

The unprecedented clearance operation swept through over 10 suspected Boko Haram terrorists hideouts along the border in which they killed 22 terrorists, arrested 3 Ameers (commanders) and rescued abducted persons.

During the operation the troops cleared Nbaga, Bula, Dabube, Ybiri, Greya and Suduwa towns and other adjoining settlements. The towns and settlements were occupied by suspected fleeing Boko Haram terrorists who escaped from villages previously cleared by troops of the Nigerian Army.

The apprehended terrorists commanders include Lawal Abba, Mallam Hisna and Mallam Gana in Shatte, Bulla Jaja and Bula Burra towns. The troops also rescued 1,275 persons held hostage by the terrorists. The rescued persons are being administered and screened by 152 Taskforce Battalion pending onward movement to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp.

Yesterday, Mavin boss Don Jazzy took to Twitter to talk about people who post photos of money on their Snapchat. “E be like say if you post money for Snapchat, then count to 100, Snapchat doubles the money for you,” the music producer wrote, adding, “I feel like we are carrying last o. There must be something that people gain by posting money on snapchat. I go try.”
The post met a host of reactions from fans who said he was too old for such childish act, but a few read meaning to the unprecedented comments. “If you want to flaunt the money you do as you please. But who are you referring to,” asked a fan, and he was met with silence.
Many times, Davido has shared photos of wads of dollars on his social media. Following backlash from fans in March, he told fans that they will be ‘depressed’ if they keep following him on the social media platform.

Passengers scheduled for two Arik Air flights from Benin revolted this evening.

Many passengers arrived at the airport expecting to board their flights, 1630 to Abuja and 1700 to Lagos, only to be told that there was no fuel.

Shortly after, they were checked in. About 1800, word spread that two planes on the tarmac had been chattered by staff of Dangote Cement who were returning from a ground breaking ceremony, and this led to a full-scale revolt as passengers had been led to believe that both aircraft were meant to take them.

All Arik staff at the airport have checked out.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Prince James Uche, who has been sick for over one year now is still laying critically ill in the hospital. His condition has really degenerated. Some of his colleagues in the industry who visited him recently said he has now spent one year in the hospital but his condition has not really improved.

The actor was is struggling with high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney failure.
