Poverty is the true bane of Nigerian politics! By the time you hear how much these chaps are paid for this act, you'd wanna puke! Because they're "expatriates", it shouldn't be more than 200 to 500 Naira per diem.

Politics / Re: Fayose Likens Sheriff To A Bride With HIV by ChiefCommander(m): 7:49am On Jun 18, 2016
Limitednow:
EKITI State Governor, Ayo Fayose has compared ousted Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff to a new bride who had to be dumped because she was found to be HIV positive.

He made this disclosure on Thursday in Abuja while explaining why he withdrew his support for Sheriff despite initially backing the latter’s emergence as PDP Chairman.

Fayose said: “Without doubt, I did not beg him but I supported his coming. And when you act within ambits of time the information you have at a given time, I am not someone that will say I did not support Sheriff.

“But when you want to marry a woman, on the wedding day they tell you that the woman has HIV, will you still remain in the marriage? I am out of it,”.

Sheriff was removed from the chairmanship position during the PDP’s National Convention on May 21, 2016.

I see no humour in this. It is rather promotive of stigmatization against PLWHA that care-providers seek to discourage.

Politics / Re: I Will Be President Of Nigeria – Dino Melaye Declares by ChiefCommander(m): 2:50am On Jun 14, 2016
DONSMITH123:
The lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye yesterday revealed his ambition to be the President of Nigeria someday, asserting that, “I will be” president. He however did not state when this will happen.
The senator spoke on Channels Television while appraising the first anniversary of the Senator Bukola Saraki-led 8th Senate, arguing that, “the Senate under Senator Bukola Saraki has done brilliantly well. But we would have done better if not for this; like I call it this planted distraction by people of inordinate ambition.”

Apparently referring to the assets falsification trial of Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, which has been linked to the way he emerged as Senate President, Melaye said; “you don’t kill a man for being ambitious.”

He continued; “Everyone is ambitious. I’m ambitious;like I want to be the president of the federal republic of Nigeria. It shouldn’t be a crime. I will be.”

When asked by the anchor of the programme if he really wants to be president, the lawmaker reiterated; “I’ll be. When we get to that bridge; we’ll cross it.”

Most of these young ladies and perineal extroverts, and the results is either this (wise) or complicated by voluntary termination. Young ladies should learn to password their genitals at a young age, with very long codes consisting of numerals, alphabets, symbols, and smileys. It could help.

Politics / Re: Dasuki Paid Me Monthly - Okupe by ChiefCommander(m): 4:38am On May 09, 2016
captianfreeman:
Eniola Akinkuotu, Abuja

A former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Doyin Okupe, has revealed that his office was funded monthly by the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.).

Okupe, who served under Jonathan from 2012 to 2015, said this on his official Twitter handle.

He, however, said he had nothing to do with the arms scam which cost the country over $15bn in stolen funds.

Okupe said, “I was not paid arms deal money. The NSA paid for the running of my office monthly from August 2012. Dasukigate was in 2014. I did not take part in the campaign.”

The former spokesman for Jonathan, however, received bashing from several of his followers online who wondered why his office should get security votes.

A Twitter use, Ojezs, asked, “You’re just implicating yourself. Is it the NSA office that employed you?”

Another user, Ayoola Ayodeji, wrote, “You probably mistake some of us for hungry people. A day will come when you won’t be able to sleep because poor people are outside your gate.”

In his response, Okupe wrote, “You guys are idiotic. You wait and pray for the innocent to be punished. It will not happen. You must think some of us are terrified.”

It had been reported in January that Okupe got at least N1.6bn off Dasuki in three shady cyber security contracts.

One of the contracts had instructions to hunt down unfriendly media websites with Distributed Denial of Service attacks.

It was believed to be a project conceived to shut down online media platforms perceived as friendly towards Muhammadu Buhari, the then presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2015 election.

The other contract was to intercept all optic fibre cables landing in Nigeria. The third was a passive mass and target GSM interception that had the ability to decrypt ciphers and operate undetected.

The contracts that were allegedly awarded Okupe’s cronies, reinforces claims that the former NSA merely doled out cash and contracts to cronies and political associates and violated procurement regulations in the process.

He's right! "Security" got a newer definition under Jonathan. It means protecting your ambition or retaining your seat, and not any bunch of silly lives and properties anywhere. Who dare care?

Electroweb:

Well, "pay or give" its all semantics. You knw what your intention is with the money. I think tithing is about money. I sense you know more about this than you are letting on, so you enlighten me then.

Chairman, I dunno much! But according to the Leviticus records, it was neither money, nor mandatory for all to give! Even at that, there were types of tithes. Furthermore, it was to be "eaten before The Lord your God", and not be left in the coffers of anyone.... One can't but frown at the selective amplification of a portion of the Old testament !

Your tithe is between you and God. Some confused churches would want to behave as if it is their role is to monitor how and ensure you pay your tithe thereby getting vital financial information about you. You just have to be careful because there is a lot of hardship in town and there are people are out always looking for who to sponsor their business ideas. Enquire if the church has account number so you can be transferring it to their account or you write anonymous on the tithe card. Read Mathew 6:4-6 for guidance.

Shalom.

Bros, pls concerning tithes, is it "pay" or "give"? Who told you that it is money? Pls enlighten me

I don't really need to start explaining the importance of tithing.
Of course we all know paying tithe of every income is necessary but I attend a church where every tithe you pay is recorded in a tithe book with a your name boldly written on it .
The motive behind it is definitely not for show off but I don't feel convenient with the fact that the deacons who will count the money would know how much and how regularly I pay my tithe.
Secondly, we tithers are asked to come out every with our tithe book for prayers before dropping it in d tithe box. I feel shy doing that , especially when I think of those girls who will be like "hmmmm, haywire don dey pay tithe , d guy don get money b dat" .. I feel so inconvenient.
The truth is, I've been unable to pay my tithe for a while now, though the cash is intact .

Today is Sunday again and am still bothered.

Thanks
On this, I've got three questions for you sir: 1. how were you informed, that the tithe is monetary? 2. Who are to pay tithes? 3. What is to be done with the tithe? I would be glad. If you'd give me an answer.

Most of what is practised in churches today are not Biblical and non-Christlike. Tithe booklets are just there so that the pastors can monitor your "faithfulness" at paying your tithes. if what I give is between me and God, why should I be monitored by any pastors after all God loves a cheerful giver not those that are compelled to give by pastors chasing you around with Tithe booklets every Sunday or pastors always blackmailing you with Malachi 3:10. Malachi 3 is applicable to churches whom pastors aren't being paid salary by the church and pastors who are not busy buying exotic properties all over the place. The levites are the ones that ought to receive tithes on behalf of God cos even though they are part of Israel, they were not allowed to inherit piece of land in Israel hence there's no way they could farm and eat, their job is solely to serve God and they live within the temple, the only way God could bring food to their tables is to command other tribes of Israel to pay tithe so that his priests could eat( that is why Malachi 3 says bring all the tithes so that there can be FOOD in my house). But nowadays that pastors get paid, buy jets, build mansion, while the church members are impoverished, who should tithes be paid to? And what should tithes be used for? Is it even justifiable to pay tithes? There was mention of tithe in the new testament, mind you.
The Malachi text wasn't even for the laity, but it was rather directed at the priests what do we interpret it to mean these days?

Can a man deceive God? Instead of the priest to make him realize how many nautical miles he's drifted off in the faith, but no, it's all about the "gift"! Besides, he complicated it all, by making a public show of the purported gift... scripturally, the applause generated by men would automatically replace the blessings that oughta come from THE Giver of all good and perfect gifts. I ain't judging, but I wanna see it from another angle, of the "church going worldly, and the world trying to get churchy"!

I'm narrowing my search on the quack. He is from abia and schooled in abia state university teaching hospital.
He is doing his housemanship at the abia state specialist hospital, aba road, umuahia (which is why he was quick to refer patience to the FMC, which is directly opposite the accursed specialist hospital).

I will place some calls tomorrow morning; my friend is a consultant at FMC, umuahia. My ex works as a nurse at the specialist hospital umuahia. I will confirm if fatal accident victims were brought to their hospitals and then try and narrow down the stupid doctors in charge.

Cosmatik, I don't know you but I will find you, and you will pay dearly for this.
The guy has nothing to pay, except for bringing such an issue out in the open. Before we get too quick to blame him, let us ask who his teachers/role models are. Are they not those MOs who stay away from their work places, and practice their sordid version of "telemedicine"? In case you wanna go for anyone, let it be his superiors, who obviously need leadership training, an update in medical ethics and medicolegal issues. They obviously couldn't give or teach the young man what they didn't have!

OP needs to be tutored on emergency medicine, medial ethics and the medicolegal aspect of medical care. The negligent Medical officer that left such a greenhorn at work deserve to pay for it, while OP himself should not be spared, for this singular act, of coming to discuss medical practice on nairaland, rather than generating enough insight to go pick up textbooks and read!! To prove it, I bet you didn't document anything for these victims, right? This license is so "loseable", that you wonder why you went through th hassle to get it. Secondly, wasn't there an emergency tray, or was it that depleted that you couldn't get basic things to stabilize and refer? If there wasn't, all of you doctors in that place ought to be rounded up and sent somewhere, where you'd be given leadership training! I hope you see thru your unwarranted and misdirected emotional outburst and learn from these snippets. Peace, out!

A good doctor is not one who plays undue heroics, but one who knows when to refer. Rather than all these recharge card buying and panic calling, your triage skills would come in handy, and whoever needs an IV access gets one, ditto other things. From me to you, don't ever mistake the social media for your clinical review or m & m meetings. Posting here has not achieved anything, rather than bringing the profession, and your personal practice to disrepute. Like I said earlier, pls don't ever repeat the goof, ever again. You'd toughen-up on the job.

Perhaps you'd adjust as you age in the practice, but don't EVER discuss your work, or its workings, out in the open like this!
