Hello house,

Please I have two questions:

a) is it possible to fill out a visitor visa application for someone in Nigeria from the UK?

b) For anyone that has sponsored a visitor's visa from the UK - how did you submit your supporting documents i.e. payslips and bank statements? Were there sent to the UKVI office or did you send them to the person applying in Nigeria?

Thanks.

Thanks nomad26. She owns a small business and is actively involved in her home church. I intend to submit the following:

For myself (to show that I am the sponsor):
- letter of invitation stating that I am the sponsor and will be providing accomodation, ticket and upkeep
- original birth certificate
- recent payslips (up to the last 6 months)
- salary/current account savings showing recent transactions plus the amount that I have budgeted -£800.
- copy of my tenancy agreement
- copy of my passport data page and BRP

For my mum

- 6-month bank statement showing that she has the emergency fund in her account
- some of our pictures (i'm not sure about this one)
- cover letter signed by her confirming that she is my mum and explaining her ties to home, business etc.
- proof of business - CAC certificate of her company and necessary tax docs
- proof of ties to home - she has some speaking engagements lined up on her return back to Nigeria. we will be including flyers.

What else can I add to this please? Thanks.

nomad26:
Hi chiinj,

Does your mum work or own a business or is she retired? What documents are yoy submitting as proof of ties to home? I'd suggest you list out all the documents you plan to submit and guys here can advise accordingly.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by chiinj(m): 4:57pm On Aug 09, 2018
Wow! Congratulations to you and your parent.

House please. I intend to do the same for my mum. Although the budget will be different. I'm looking at a budget of £800 because from the thread, endlessgrace, ekpotek etc advised that it is better to have the money for the ticket + a small amount to cover additional expenses (i'm thinking of £200).

I only intend to submit my current(salary) account along with payslips and other information although I will be moving the money from my savings account ( I will explain that I moved the money from my savings to prove that the funds are easily accessible in a cover letter).

Although I will be sponsoring the trip fully, I will be stating that in the form but will say that she will have some money to hold during her trip in case of any emergency.

Please house can someone advise me if I am missing some more information. Does she need to submit other documents apart from birth certificate, proof of ties to home and bank statement to show she has the money to hold for the trip in her account?

Thank you

nomad26:
For my parents application for 6-months visitor visa, budget was 3000 GBP for 2 weeks and I stated that I will fully sponsor their trip. They are both self-employed.

Timeline (Standard): TLS Abuja
3rd June: Submitted online application
12th June: Submitted documents and biometrics
3rd July: Passport ready for pickup (13 working days ex. public holidays)
Picked up passports the next day with both visas approved (valid from 29th June)

These are the documents we submitted with their application:

Mine:
1. Original Invitation Letter
2. Copy of BRP and my passport data page
3. Birth certificate
4. Tenancy agreement
5. 6-months payslip
6. 6-months bank statement savings account (2K in this account)
7. 6-months bank statement salary account (3K in this account)

Parents:
1. Cover letter, signed by both of them
2. Company CAC certificate of their registered company
3. Their office tenancy agreement
4. 6-months bank statement from both of them
5. Excel table explaining deposits into their account (I can share a format if anyone's interested)
6. Land C of O and sales agreement
7. C of O of their residential house
8. Marriage certificate

FYI, they didn't submit any tax certificate, I was a bit worried about that but thank God it didn't matter. Now to start hunting for cheap tickets! cheesy

Thank you so much for your help, guys. I didn't even have to ask a lot of questions. This thread (from part 1 - now) is so informative. A big thank you to justwise for starting it.

I can't stress the importance of telling the truth with regards to visa refusals when applying for a visa.
I applied on the 26th of August, had my interview on the 28th, got my decision and collection mail on Tuesday and I got my visa on Wednesday.
I applied at Abuja VAC.

All the best to everyone hoping for a positive reply. You all will get it by God's grace.

House, please should I be worried? I took the visa interview on the 28the of last month and I received a mail today stating that a decision has been made already despite the fact that its not up to 2weeks like I was told.
I applied on the same day and I got the same mail this morning. Don't be worried. Visa processing times differ.

Hello people, please I have my interview today. Urgently looking for direction and nobody seems to know the place. Please how can I get to:

TelePerformance Abuja Visa Application Centre
3rd Floor, El Yakub House, Plot 1129
Zakariaya Maimalari Street
off Herbert Macauley Way, CBD, Abuja
Abuja.

I'm currently around Wuse market.
Enter a cab (drop). Tell the driver you are going to UK visa centre opposite War college in Area 10. It's pretty popular and a bit close to Wuse so it shouldn't cost so much.

I don't think you need a letter from your uncle. But it's wise to know his address and be able to CLEARLY explain your relationship to him if you are asked during the interview. If you feel it's necessary, I don't think there's any harm especially since he is a legal resident in the UK.

Remember you still have to show maintenance funds in your bank account even if you have a place to stay already.

Can someone else please confirm this?

Please i'm experiencing same issue with payment of IHS, please somebody helppppppppp!

@manskido: When you're able to sort this out, please let me know how you did it.
Hello, I had the same issue with IHS payment. I was lucky enough to transfer the money into the account of a close friend that has applied for the visa and paid with his card. He used a Zenith Mastercard to make the payment. If you know anybody that you trust that has done the payment, I think that can work.

Hello all,
Please I made my bank deposit on Aug 7th. 28days should be Sept 3rd or 4th.....not really clear about this. But please will it be okay to submit my online application on the 3rd(so as to get a close appointment date) and print my bank statement on the 4th?
Kindly help out please.
Thanks
I can't remember the answer but I know a similar question was asked recently and answers were given. If you go back and read the previous pages (maybe from 480 or so), you'll get the answer.

Hello everyone,
Please is there anyone who recently applied and chose Abuja VAC? I will be applying on Thursday and want to know if appointment dates in Abuja VAC are far or close. Thanks all
I applied last week Wednesday and I had my interview on Friday. I think the peak period was around the beginning of August/mid August. Just have faith when applying.

Good evening house, please has anyone used UBA to pay for their visa application fees? If yes, how did you get your secure code and did the new CBN limit affect you?

Hello house, please is it compulsory to submit a mail from the school you want to attend giving you permission for late resumption when your visa interview date is close to the actual date of resumption? I've been trying to read this thread from the beginning and I am seeing "apply for two weeks extension" up and down. Is it necessary?

Congrats. And thank you so much for this info. I was/am seriously considering Priority service at VI. So did you actually use the priority service, or just regular application fee?
Me too. I'm stuck between paying for priority service at either VI or Abuja. Which one is faster?
