Most women in Nigeria! Even then that's overly and grossly exaggerated. Let's not forget that marital status in Nigeria is pretty much everything. Although the westernization going on there has upped the divorce rates and such but still. For a greater majority, being married and staying married is of the utter most importance. Society frowns upon the idea of single parents etc so women there "tend" to stay and accept behaviors in marriage.

I highly doubt that women in our(you and I) generation who has come to this country; educated here with a good job and got something good going for them will now come and chill while some dude is out there sleeping with anything/ everyone? Seriously does that even make sense to you? Because dem wan save face?

Most Nigerian chics I know are very much independent. They aren't waiting for some dude to come and take care of them. Obviously there are exceptions to this of course. Basically this isn't limited to anyone really. Your life is what you wanna make of it.

Chika, I do not support the OP's partner case at all. He has got issues and would certainly worsen after the marriage. I tell you, nothing can change the sort of people except the holy spirit.

I was just thinking aloud as to how many people's cases are decided behind them! and women are prone to giving of more advice bad or good.

A Bronx Tale: I've seen a lot of gifs on tumblr So I decided to watch it. Such a cute love story. Lilo Brancato was such a cutie and Taral Hicks is a beautiful woman. Too bad Lilo is a druggie now.

Ah an Igbo girl like me has absolutely nothing to do with a horse feem at all hence I wont be watching. It seems movie makers are lacking creativity and fresh ideas. "Safe House" with Denzel looks promising. I'll definitely be watching for sure.

I need to point something out though, Americans were the brain behind our national identity card scheme and not a nigerian project. A major chunk of the fund came from america and also the mobile electronic finger print machines. A the end of the exercise, America requested that Nigerian govt turned over the complete database to them just in solidarity of the fight against terrorism. If you have the Nigerian national ID, consider your details sitting in the machine of all US embassies. A lot of people were denied and served a letter of using deception, and guess what, nobody has been able to understand how the embassy derived this conclusion.
Simple advice, get all your document right, passport, birth cert, school diplomas and all sorts and next time explain to them you paid an agent to fill in your dv application and hence the error was made, but my worry is you have gone ahead to alter other docs (marriage cert and stuffs), it get even more complicated.
Go back to your original details and try other embassies, God's own country is not always america, believe me.

OP: You've gotten great advice from every one. Often times women are caught up with "getting" married than
the marriage itself. Are you prepared to live with a man who belittles your efforts and doesn't uplift you? He offers no support
whatsoever and if you think this will change when you get married then you're in for it. I'd run far FAR away. Just like women
some men make great boyfriends but one can NEVER marry them.

I just peeped here and I was just looking back to the year I wrote this post, a lot has happened and God has been faithful!am blessed with a healthy baby, a good job and  wonderful man! the issue of HIV is the least discussed in my home,I take  diffrent local drug which I discovered through God's grace and am super healthy.
