Kimoni: Ma'am, pls take no heed to what Chillis said. I can authoritatively tell you she was drunk when she typed that thing. If you ask her tomorrow to repeat what she wrote, she won't remember a single word
Pls don't let feminism arguments take over this beautiful thread again Who is drunk between us? Drunk by 6am? N'a so the drink dey catch you? If na night I type am, I might be guilty. Not morning. The OP is preaching feminism. Tomorrow she will shout, I'm not a feminist. What happen to waiting for manner from boyfriends. |

MizMyColi:
Which feminism are you on about? Is it modern feminism, true feminism or Nairaland Feminism
Oh well, I have never been a fan of labels. I am more a fan of how to right the wrongs of the past and consolidating the rights for a better future... How does a tete-a-tete with my sisters on relationships and self-perception matters relate to femininsm?
...Yet you call "them" confused people. Smh
Madam, look in the mirror biko.
You are still growing little one You are still at the stage of Loving yourself better. Very soon you enter the stage of loving those who are weaker to love themselves. Those who don't know better. Feminism on the rise! All hail the feminist mizcoli!!!! |

Family › Re: Submission In Marriage by Chillis: 8:33pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
bukatyne: Hello peeps
I sometimes stumble on old threads and go through them again and picked on this 'submission' stuff again.
This thread is mainly for single 'feminists', 'feminazis' and ladies who cringe at the word submission.
Now I am referring to it as used in the Bible and not Nairaland's /Nigerian definitions and assuming the man in question knows what it is to love so this will be to ladies
Someone once defined it as 'loyalty'... that's a nice one.
Loosely defined, i will say it is all about learning what your man wants and doing it & pleasing your man. Now I do not care about what 'men' want but there is one man whose like and dislikes matter most to you as a lady. It is not being 'controlled' or 'treated like a slave' or having no say in your affairs. You also do not have to be a man's inferior or unequal to submit.
Infact, the dynamics of submission happens in every relationship including those with your friends. You know that your best friend you bend backwards for, always what to do what makes her happy, give her your loyalty and faithfulness.... translate that to your husband or boyfriend on a higher level. Now it is your duty to enter a relationship/marriage with the right person. That way, it flows naturally as you always want your man to be happy and learn to be intuned with his needs. (No one is perfect and it is a process which you can start today )
So I say ladies... go and be found by your soul mate (If you are interested in getting married).
P.S.: I believe submission should start from a relationship (My personal opinion)
I will 100% appreciate we stick to the topic.
It is common knowledge I am a feminist and believe men and women are equal. I do not want anti-feminists rants on this thread.
Happy Sunday to everyone. You and your submission threads and argument, your Hand no dey pain you ni? Whatever makes one happy,do it. If you like debate from now until 2050, people will do what thy feel is right for them. As long as they are happy, they can continue. If they so much think they deserve more they know what to do. |

Family › Re: My In - Laws Are Not Happy With Me. by Chillis: 9:47pm On Aug 12, 2015 |
lacapine: Been married for four years now and we stay in separate towns from my in - laws. On our wedding day, we had lots of gifts and we couldn't take them all cos of lack of space in our one bedroom apartment, so we left them at my in- laws. Each time we go visiting, I notice d gifts keep going down. I told my hubby n he promised we would pack all soon but we can't now cos no space. Two weeks ago, we were there again for a kind of party and I noticed it again and I brought it to the notice of my sister in - law and she said its her mum who takes stuffs from there when she has a wedding to attend. The mum says its her and an argument ensued. All these while, hubby was not around because we stay in separate towns because of job . So we(d kids n I) came in before him. When he came, he told his mum how wrong it is. Atleast they should seek permission. In the morning, when we were leaving, I jokingly told her to please keep an eye there for me n we sha laughed about it. When the argument was on between mum in - law and I, my other brother in - law got furious and asked that should better hurry n clear them all away. .
So we(d kids n I) joined hubby back to his base. When we got here, I realised that our AC and two stabilizers were missing, hubby called his younger brother who stays with him and he said he sold them when things were rough. Hubby expressed his displeasure so did I and he apologised.
I called my mum in - law who am sooooooo close to and told her that we should start thinking of how to help this BIL. He is 25 and very idle. Though spent four years in university but failed out. So he s really not doing much and to my greatest surprise mum in law got furious and said my concerns are fake and am only bothered that he is my husband's responsibility and I don't like it that's why am asking. All my in laws felt the same and she brought up d gift issue again n said stuffs like when she came visiting n I'll, I wasn't happy n I wanted her out. That was about two years ago. She was around with three of my inlaws and a house help n my two kids in a room and parlor for four months. Truth is at a point it became very overwhelming and I really wanted my space. didn't expect she would bring it up. Now am feeling very bad.
please married people please what did I do wrong and how can I right it? How can I make the relationship better. My dear, Make yourself useful go get a job. If no job, sell all those wedding gifts and start something for yourself abeg. If for 4 yrs you don't use all the wedding gift, sell them and do something useful for yourself abeg. If they want to quarell with you, let them. Life goes on. You can't please everybody. |

A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.
Queen oh! I stepped on the scale 3 days ago and guess what? My reading was 69.99kg!!!
And a day later, it came further down to 69.0kg!! ***Dancing Azonto here***
But I know what's caused it sha ....STRESS!
So much stress from work to meet deadlines and hand in deliverables. Been doing very early morning starts, finishing late nights and not getting more than a couple of hours sleep. But you know what, the more stress I got, the more I exercised like crazy. I mean I had to. The environment I work in, it's not uncommon for people to turn to cocaine or commit suicides. So my own stress relief na to hit the streets and work it all out.
I never for once missed my 30 mins lower-abs workout / sit-ups and 30 mins run every morning. Still do my 30-45 min swim class and 1 hr run on Saturdays too.
Breakfast has been nothing other than a squeezed lime and lemon in a very large glass of warm (almost hot water), 4 or 5 cherry tomatoes, and sometimes, a couple of cucumber slices. Lunch at work has religiously been cold salads. All greens available - lettuce, cucumbers, broccoli, shredded carrots, sweet corn, grilled chicken pieces, mackerel, chick peas, green peas, and half a spoon of pasta - if space still remain to add am. Oh, and a teaspoon of olive oil. Then two bananas for tea and a litre of water for the whole afternoon. We've even got a scheme going: buy 4 get the 5th one free. Got my fifth free 1ltr bottle of Evian water today.
More fruits in the evenings and anything else - but definitely no rice / yams / poundo, etc anymore.
69.0 kg...Yayyy!!
CC: Chillis / Chilisauce, I don enter the 60's group oh! Nice work. You really are working very hard. I have fallen these few days ehn but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Enjoy your 60s weight. It's worth it |
