PoliticsAnother Shocker From Inec Tomorrow. I Dey Laugh - Iwu by chima2011(op): 9:26pm On Apr 06, 2011
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday went into a stormy session at its headquarters, featuring its Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, Federal Commissioners and Resident Electoral Commissioners, and may come out with another shocker tomorrow.
Yesterday’s meeting which lasted about eight hours saw the Commission’s leadership reviewing last Saturday’s botched elections and concluded that some drastic measures would need to be taken to avoid what an INEC top shot described as the “mess of last Saturday”.

Politics225.5 Billion/yr Allocated To Legislators While 118.1 Bil To 27 Fed Universities by chima2011(op): 8:57pm On Apr 06, 2011
In 2010,
225.5 Billion was allocated to 1459 federal and state legislative members (as wages and allowance)

while

118.1 Billion was allocated in the same year to 27 Federal universities

Let's stop complaining about things like this individually Because no one will listen, it's time to bind together with one voice and demand for change. It is time to take our destiny and that of our children into our hands. Let's stop hoping on the promises of GEJ, BUHARI, RIBADU etc.

If 1 MILLION Nigerians Demand for better education with one voice there is no Government(GEJ, Buhari or Ribadu) that will not listen

Well, can't sign up yet until we understand how we spent the money allocated to education in the past 10 years. The problem goes beyond funding.
We are aware the problem of education goes beyond funding.

But we cannot also divorce the fact that if we had 1 million Nigerians persistently pressuring Government for 26% of budgetary allocation(UNESCO Recommendation) for education we can make a greater impact in our public school standard,

Right to good education is a fundamental human right. let's not let things remain the way they are by complaining individually. its time to bind together and speak with one voice.

Everybody has a legitimate right to be angry for the postponement. But, one thing we can not afford is a foul to process. The NASS election is pivotal to strengthening our democracy,   If he Jiga thinks shifting the election is whats needed for a credible process, fellow Nigerians, i think we should give him our support. like he said, 'anything worth doing is worth doing well'
thank you

PoliticsPresidential Poll: North Set To Dump Buhari by chima2011(op): 7:47pm On Apr 01, 2011
National Daily gathered that those Northerners who were thinking that Jonathan was the problem are by now having a rethink, as the inability to agree a united front is causing some of the zoning and consensus candidate promoters real embarrassment. One of the inner caucus sources said : “Till now, it is difficult agreeing on the way forward. We thought Jonathan was the problem but the truth appears to be that there is a lack of trust and disaffection among those leaders whose selfish interests are no longer guaranteed outside the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). Tactics are bound to change,” he said. “What you must know is that the average Northerner have a heart of his own and would not be cowed to dance to the wrong tune,” the source added.
National Daily's curiosity on what the likely change may be, threw up a hitherto repressed grudge against one of the elder statesmen in the April race and the proliferation of new groupings which does not, as it were guarantee him much room comfort.

Though many were all along looking the way of the Congress for Change flag-bearer Mohammadu Buhari, a retired general, as the toast of the majority North, our source said a simmering heat was targeting to drive the former military head of state off most prospective grassroots supporters.

PoliticsNwodo Blasts Pdp Over His Removal by chima2011(op): 7:40pm On Apr 01, 2011
Immediate past national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Okwesilieze Nwodo who was sacked few days after the party’s presidential nomination has opened up at last. He blasted the party for acting on a ‘kangaroo’ court order, which he said has not been served on him up till today. Nwodo also declared that there was ‘wayo’ in the PDP primary in Enugu State.

“And those who did that wayo and took what belongs to other people…there is a God in heaven; and those who have stolen these mandates, God will restore it to the right people. And for those who are battling in court to get back their mandate, we pray to God to help them. I pray God to come down and manifest His power,” he said.
