To get out of debt, you have to first understand how you got into debt in the first place. And I can assure you with 99% certainty that most people fall into the humiliating depth of debt due to lack of sound financial management; and to put it straight in a language that an average Joe understands, this simply means spending more than you earn by trying to keep up with the Jones’, http://stories.com.ng/2011/07/how-to-get-out-of-debt-fast-through-sound-financial-management/ |

Romance › If You Are Not Happy In Your Relationship – Here's Why. by chima2011(op): 2:21am On Jun 21, 2011 |
If you are not happy in your relationship – Here's why.
To teach this topic properly, I will explain it with an illustration. But before that, I want to let you know that there are several uncountable reasons why you may not be happy in your current relationship, but the most fundamental reason why 95% mass of men and women out there are not happy in their relationships is their lack of understanding of the concept of “Rule Difference”.
Yes most of us come from different families with different backgrounds, upbringing and understanding of life but one fact remains that man is a social being and will always yearn to interact with other beings; be it in friendship, relationship or marriage. Now to interact without rancour in a relationship is almost impossible but when disagreements and quarrels become a recurring decimal, then it can only mean that there is a systemic flaw somewhere in the understanding of the concept of “rule difference” as I have stated earlier. But hei Smart, what do you really mean by “concept of rule difference”? You have not even defined It in clear terms. Well, now that you have brought this to my notice, I will explain it fully as comprehensively as possible with this simple illustration:
Mary comes from a family where the rule is “If you love and respect me, you should never raise your voice at me; Not matter how angry or pissed off you are. But if you must shout at me the respectable thing to do is to apologise and quietly walk out of the room so as not to let the argument escalate” whereas her fiancée, James, comes from a family where the rule for genuine love and respect is “If I'm respectful, then I'm truthful about all my feelings and all my emotions. No pretensions – good, bad or indifferent – and I express them with all my intensity in the moment. I should never pretend. And no matter how heated the argument is you should never walk out on me”. When these two start to argue which is bound to happen in any man-woman relationship, can you imagine the disaster that will be happening.
From this simple illustration, I hope you would have grasped an understanding of what I meant by “rule difference”.
For you to be happy in your relationship, you must first make a genuine active effort to try and understand your partner's rules about life. Just like in the case of Mary and James, if they don't make a keen and decisive effort to communicate each other's to themselves, then the relationship is obviously heading for the rocks. In your own case, your rule difference may be on the subject of sex, money, family planning, health etc. the list is inexhaustible; but the most important way to understand rule difference is through communication. One mistake that most couples make is to assume that the other person should understand their rules without them verbalizing it. And when they, as expected, do not understand, they start to blame each other for lack of understanding and this ultimately leads to unnecessary breakup of relationships that would have materialized into a very healthy long-term one.
Now that you know this basic truth, you should take the lead and transform your relationship into what you desire it to be.
P.S: As a final word of advice, when you are in a relationship, don't ever try to change your partner by out-rightly condemning his bad habits, else he/she will resist and persist. The easiest way to change people, maybe your partner, is to show them clearly in no uncertain terms that you understand them and is willing to augment their personal weakness (through your actions of course). The point you should note here is that you are indirectly pointing out to them that their bad habit is a weakness (and you are willing to help) without condemning them. Career › How To Find The Right Career For You by chima2011(op): 2:16am On Jun 21, 2011 |
Your Job Should Feel Like a Calling Today I’m going to be sharing with you on how to identify the career path that will give you the best satisfaction and fulfilment in life. This message is targeted at the great mass of young men and women who may still be in crisis as regards what it is that they really want to do with their lives. Especially the fresh graduates. It is not enough to just get a job. The most important thing is for you to have a job that you will derive genuine joy and fulfilment. And that is the purpose of this article. To help you identify that job or career that you can describe as your calling. Yes your job should feel like a calling. It should feel like you are making an impact in this world. Getting up on Monday mornings should feel good. At this point it is pertinent to point out to you that the business of identifying the right career path for you has little or nothing to do with schooling.
If you can identify what the problem is, the problem is 50% solved.
It has been said that “if you can identify what the problem is, the problem is 50% solved”. Therefore, I'm going to be offering you 50% of the answer leaving the remaining 50% for you to discover on your own because it is only when this discovery is made by the person involved that it will make a great meaning to him/her bringing with it enough zealous passion necessary to take action. And in doing so, I'm going to show you 3 fundamental signs that may indicate to you that you are on a wrong career path.
The 3 fundamental signs That shows you are not in the right career
If you are in a job that waking up on Monday mornings is like nightmare to you but when it's Friday, you happily shout “Thank God it's Friday night”. If you make a lot of money yet not satisfied by deriving genuine joy in what you do. I'm saying this because, in this contemporary times that we live in, money is like the report card of your effort and progress in your chosen career. So if you are getting good grades yet not satisfied, then something is wrong somewhere – if you walk a thousand miles on the wrong path, it is still the wrong path. If you ask yourself this simple question “Is this what I want to be doing everyday for the rest of my life?” or “Can I invest the next 40 years of my life on this job?”. If your answer is not an instant “yes” right from the subconscious on a level of reflex, then you are definitely on a wrong path and you should try thinking of making a switch. This third criteria is what I have used so far to find focus in my life. I invite you to try it, and your career path “crisis” will certainly come to an end. In fact, to me it's scary having to invest 40 years into something then at the tail end of my life to realise that I've just wasted my whole life on earth. Can you imagine being such position? But unfortunately that is the position that most people find themselves in - would you want to find yourself in such position?
All hope is not lost. You can still make a switch.
Finally, if you find yourself currently entangled in a career that you feel is not right for you, all hope is not lost. You can still make a switch. It doesn't matter if you are 50 or 25 years. You can always start again. As a matter of fact, most men and women don't hit their real pace in life until they turn 40. if you doubt this, take time out to study the lives of the 100 greatest men of the 20th century and you will confirm the veracity of this statement of fact. As a matter of fact, at-times, you might have to take up a job that you don't find fulfilling in order to serve as a launch pad into the career you believe is your calling and your destiny. But just don't get stuck in the rat race. Your calling may be in business, entertainment, sport, academics or even civil service. Whatever it is, you know yourself best. Make the decision today! Christianity Etc › Short Cut To Achieving Your Goals And Dreams In Life. by chima2011(op): 2:10am On Jun 21, 2011 |
How to Make Your Grip Firmer And To Help You Climb The Ladder of Sucess Faster.
If you decided to read this message because you think am going to give out some wonderful tips on how to avoid the ever rough and rugged road to success in life, thinks again. However, the aim of this message is to help you smoothen the road that leads to success. It's not intended to make the ladder of success shorter and help you climb with your both hands in your pocket; rather, it's intended to show you how to make your grip firmer and to help you climb faster.
Now we all have grandiose goals and targets in life. Especially when we are young, we always aim for very high stations in life and are for the most part generally optimistic about life, but as we grow older and society fixes responsibilities on us, thus limiting our beliefs about the goals, targets and dreams we once had, we ultimately lose focus and just accept our fate. But the question is, why does it happen that way? Why do we fail to reach the heights we once set for ourselves? It has been said that life is a just employer – it pays whatever wages we ask of it, but why, we must be willing to pay the price. Why do we naturally become accustomed to the little that life offers even when we could have gotten more if we only asked? The reason is simple. The reason is that as young people, majority of men and women set goals and targets without a concrete plan and an organized effort towards transforming it into its physical equivalence. I mean a rock-solid plan backed with unshakeable faith that does not recognize the possibility of such thing as failure or accept any outcome less than the original target. While this is true for the majority of people, some do have plans but without a desire passionate enough to transform their plans into physical reality as such their plans end up seeming so grand that it paralyses their faith.
Your Plan Should Depend on YOU And Not People, Circumstances or Events.
For example, if you have a target of becoming a professor and your plan is: attend university and get a first degree, then move on to get masters for 2 years and then Ph.D. for so, so and so years. Then write papers for international journals and do lots of research and so on and so forth, bla bla bla. Believe me, if your plans for success looks something as vague as this, you may never become a professor or your chances will be dependent totally on luck. This is mainly because, this plan or any such plan resembling it is dependent on the outside(people, circumstances, events), and not on the inside i.e. YOU. All forms of success, be it happiness, health or wealth all comes from the inside as such your plans should be fashioned to be dependent on the inside factors which you can control and not out side circumstances which you have absolutely no control over.
At this point, it is pertinent to show you in 3 simple steps on how to develop a plan for great success in life which will be dependent entirely on factors which you personally have immediate control over. If you adopt and apply this simple procedure, achieving your goals and targets in life will be easy and almost stress free as this procedure does not require you to become something different in your life or to undergo any fundamental change in your personality. But it does not mean that it comes without a price. There is no such thing as free lunch. Not even in Freetown.
Step One: First have a map of where you are going to.
This entails you getting clear as regards what it is that you really want in life. “What do I really want?” This is a question you must ask yourself at all times and take solace in the fact that he who asks questions cannot avoid the answers. Whatever it is must be something that you totally believe in. A goal that you can committ your whole life willingly to achieving. Let your goal or target not be like the usual answer kids give to the question “what would you like to be when you grow up”. Let your answer be a goal you believe in so much that you can stake your entire existence on a single turn of the wheel. Now realise that if you have this all sorted out, you already possess a map that leads to the land of success you so dearly desire. It all depends on you.
Step Two: Create the Fuel That Will Keep You Going When The Going Gets Tough.
Create a long term plan and ingrain into your subconscious by meditating on it day and night until it becomes an all consuming obsession. This burning desire is the fuel that will keep you moving during the tough times when they present themselves. Just remember that on your way up at one point or the other, you will be faced with situations that will almost take the life out of you. Situations that will make you question if you are actually on the right part. When this time comes your desire and faith in the unseen will come to your aid. They will pull you through. This is the point that most people quit. It is at these defining moments that most people give up – when success is nigh. Don't forget, the slope is usually stippest at the point closest to the peak of the mountain.
Achieving this second step entirely still depends on you.
Step Three: Great Success Comes From Accumulation of Tiny Successes Over Time.
This is the most important factor and it is entirely dependent on your commitment to doing it. In fact, it can be described as the very vehicle which will drive you to your ultimate destination in life. It is the easy short cut I told you that will make you climb the ladder of success faster and make your grip firmer. This singular step will make the road that leads to success smoother and more easily navigable. But there is a problem with this step. The problem is that It is simple! In fact its simplicity is the major reason why some folks who succeed in the initial two steps still don't attain success. Why? Because they think it simply won't work.
Now to state the sum and substance of this simple step in the simplest way possible:
“MAKE CREATING A DAILY TODO LIST A HABIT!!!”
The import of this statement lies not in the Todo list itself – everybody does it. The fundamental here is that your todo list should contain at least 50% of normal daily activities that are aimed entirely at achieving the long term goal you set for yourself in step one. You can use the remaining 50% to do as you wish. Don't forget I said at least 50% - you can add more than that if you wish. Mine is way more than 50% because my life and the things I find fun are all aimed towards achieving my ultimate desire in life. Take for example this article you are reading. As I'm writing it, I'm deriving genuine joy from it because I believe I'm impacting someone's life positively. And trust me, I write so many of them in a day. In fact I writte for other people for free so as to spread the message as far an wide as possible. Before I digress, let's continue. For example, if you intend to become a professor in a certain field of your choosing, your daily to do list must as a matter of necessity, contain reading for a particular number of hours and discovering something new daily. And this should become your way of life and not just what you have to do out of personal coersion. Or if you want to become a superstart musician, your daily to-do list must contain at least 50% music related activities. It could be as simple as rhyming, learning a new track lyrics or just going to a nearby music studio to go and see what they are doing for the day, or anything no matter how trivial. The import of this is for you to saturate your mind with activities that are related to your life's ultimate goal. Remember what you repeatedly do, you become. And like they say, show me your friend and I will tell you who you are. But I will tell you, show me what you repeatedly see and hear and I can foretell your future! All this depend entirely on YOU and YOU ALONE! Think about it for a moment. SOURCE: http://stories.com.ng/2011/06/short-cut-to-achieving-your-goals-and-dreams-in-life/ |

Instead of all the negative stereotypes, let's get some positive ones going.
I would like to see everyone describe their traits for what they view as a great relationship partner in the opposite (same?) sex. Maybe after all opinions are shared, we will have some better ideas of what type of man or woman we should strive to become in order to attract the very best relationship partner.
I will start:
A great woman is one who is genuinely friendly and kind-hearted to other people.
A great woman is one who strives to look her best, but because she is confident in herself, not because she is insecure without makeup on.
A great woman is comfortable and confident with her body and with sharing it with someone she loves.
That's all I've got for now, |
