andre5:@andre5, Abeg this woman leave me alone oh , woman like you fit kill man b4 him time reach. |
somebody:@Somebody, This information you provided on graduate salary is vague, you are a lair, if you say that shell pays fresh graduates from university £29,000. And you must also be a very good lair to say that you and your friends earn a basic salary of £25K-£37K. My friend who is German works at Saatchi & Saatchi (a prestigious employer) and she does not earn up to £25K. I use to work at Rolls-Royce Derby and graduate salary there is £24K which is very very good. No company will pay a fresh graduate without any experience £35K or £37K My fellow Nairalanders do not listen to the rubbish that somebody is saying. You guys should use your head, how will a company pay a fresh graduate without any experience £35K or £37K. If you doubt me visit www.prospects.ac.uk . This is UK number one Graduate career website. Research it and see for yourselves. You guys should leave somebody she is a bloody lair. |
somebody:Please somebody, I would like you to provide me with the name of companies in the UK that pays Grad. £25,000-£37,000. |
@ IBEXY. NA NOW YOU TALK WELL. If you tell me you earn more than £30K because you are into your own business, I believe you. That way you can outsmart the Tax man (don't ask me how because i know you do it. I do it my self lol ) But if you depend on 9-5, my bros you go work tire.I totally believed your story about your friend, there are loads of peeps like that in the UK. Another thing is that plenty Nigerians in the UK haven't got foresight, they don't know why they came to the UK. Now tell me how they can make their dream come true when they have no dream. |

andre5:@andre5, You are an air head. |
@ IBEXY. What do you do & How much do you earn? I will really love to meet you. You just seat on your PC and type rubbish. How many of your friends do not pay council taxes? IBEXY Forget talk talk, and igbo proverb says that "you can't measure success in the sacks of money you've got, but what you've done with it (investments)". So I am asking you, what do you have? How many properties have you got in Nigeria? How many people have you helped in your community. Been successful is not by working 9-5 and earning some spare change which you call salary. @ SOMEBODY. Could you tell me the number of guys (under 35) that you know, who earns more than £30k? Why una dey lie lie? for Gods sake? Plenty Guys in Nigeria are making millions every year, while you guys are in the UK deceiving yourselves that you are earning pounds. As I said before most Nigerians in the UK are living fake lives. They are walking around like if they own the world but they've got nothing. As I said before "My eyes don open, you guys no go deceive me again". |
of cos not. |
@ IBEXY, We are not talking of Gross Pay here. How much do u save yearly? Abi no be the same UK i dey too? For the most fortunate ones that have a good job: Gross Pay is about £30,000. Income tax will be about £7,000 Council Tax £2000 VAT £2000 Car Tax and Insurance £1000 They are left with about £18000. Then they will pay rent or Mortgage £700/month=£7200/annum. Remaining £9600 then minus feeding and entertainment cost £200/month=£2400/annum. Remaining £7200 you will them fuel your car, buy clothes and your girl friend and family that are back home in Nigeria will cost you not less than £4000. £3200 is what you are left with if you are lucky. My brothers and sisters UK no easy. I don come UK see with my eye. I can never live in the UK. God forbid!! IBEXY stop decieving people, I doubt if you earn much. |
diyobdw:@ diyobdw, I agree with your definition. African Men Keep their homes and provide for their wives and children. This include putting a roof over their head, clothing them, feeding them, paying for their children school fees, buy and fuel her car etc. Any man that can't do any of the above is not fit to be a Man (He is a loser). I will never allow my wife to contribute to things like house rent, feeding, children school fees,. She can buy the children clothes if she wants to, but that it is not her job. I don't see the reason why both of us should be working full-time, when I am capable of taking care of the whole family. My wife will work in the family business (if she wants to work). This will give her the flexibility to be a good mother & good house-wife. I no agree with this working woman S**T. My uncles wife is a chemical engineer but she works in the family business and she is happy. So all the girls that wants to work 9-5, marriage I repeat is not by force. |
All you ladies should remember that it is not by force to get married o. But it you choose to get married, you've got to respect and submit to your husband. My wife has to submit to me O. I am African, and it is what I said will happen in my house. if the woman no agree with me, she can pack her load and go back to her fathers house. No be by force!! I've sisters, and my sisters will do what their husbands ask them to do. |
somebody:@ Somebody, I did not base my decisions solely on the league tables. I also took into account what I would gain in terms of career progression if I study in the UK. As I’ve mentioned in my earlier post, I’ve more Business ties with the Chinese and studying in china will benefit me and my future career in the long-run. By the way these UK schools are overrated. I did my degree in the UK, so I know better. I don’t want to study in a university just because they are prestigious. I will have to put into consideration if studying in the University will benefit my career. |
Chi-babe:@ Chi-babe, an Igbo proverb said that " when you have something you will never value it, instead you will be looking for the things which you don't have". bensimon:@ Bensimon, Thanks man. I've started my application processes (i.e. writing those enormous essays) |
150 Million people and you guys are making noise, Nigeria is a Manufacturers paradise . I can count more than 15 people that are millionaires in Kano state, thanks to Pure Water. When they started, People where laughing at them. I know a man that owns a two story building (15 3Bedroom Flats) in Kano, guess what he does. He is a Car Battery Charger. If I continue naming people that have made it in Nigeria by starting their own SME (Small Medium Scale Enterprise) I will not stand up from this computer. Most people that are complaining that they don't have jobs are just Lazy. I can remember when I offered one of my friend back in Kano in 1999 a Brand new Motor-Cycle to do Okada work and make money. Guess what he said (I wll put it in his own words). "Chimaze how can I be an okada man, I am a graduate O". Imagine person wey hungry dey fire wey no get work, no money, nothing they select work wey him wan do. Not that that money isn't good, Okada Riders make ab average of 500 naira a day then. (in 1999 $1 is about 86 Naira). Guess what, I gave the Motor-Cycle to another person. Right now that Guy owns more than 5 Buses doing transport for him and my friend who I gave the Bike first to, is still broke and complaining of Naija. PEACE 2 U ALL. |
Seun:@Segun you are very correct. If you are happy to earn salary and answer YES SIR untill you die England is for you. But if you want to be THE BEST YOU CAN BE then Nigeria is for you. Peace 2 U All. |
Wow, that's good. I am from Umuru village in Ideani. My house is on the border between Abatete and Ideani. I can talk to somebody in abatete from my house. it is that close. what is ur email addy? so I can add u to my massenger. |

Who is Dangote, when his uncle Aminu Dantata and Cosmas Maduka aka Coscharis is there. What of Annie Okonkwo. Let me tell you guys there are loads of traders in main market Onitcha, Nnewi and Nkpor that are far more richer than Dantata & Mike Adenuga. You guys know about Dantata because he imports rice, cement and sugar. Whhile these business men are into other Biz which we don't know. We have plenty of Billionaires in Nigeria which we don't Know. I bet you guys have not heard of Alhadji Bature & Shiekh Isiaku Rabiu. Guys make una cool down Adenuga & Dangote are Rich but there are biz peeps far more richer than they are. |
Please don’t throw your hard earned money away. Nigerian economy is not that buoyant for people to start shopping in supermarkets. Don’t go into a business you know nothing about. I will advice you to do these things • put that money into a high interest account or buy a property in Nigeria • Get a job in Nigeria, work for a whole year and study the Nigerian economy. I guarantee you after one year; you will find a good biz to invest your money. Then you can then sell the property • If you think you can just get into Nigeria and rush into a biz, you are bound to fail. MARK MY WORDS. Most of the people here are not qualified to advise you on what or how to invest your money, because most of them are salary earners. Not only are they salary earners you guys share different interests. In order to be successful you need to do what you love and find interesting. I hope my advice helps. Cheers |
Please, don't throw your hard e |
ebony9ja:Ebony9ja ,you've got a great business acumen. I'm Very impressed. solajacobs, this is a very good business. I know people that started like this in Kano state, selling kerosene. Now they own filling statations. The secret of business is, start small and grow with your biz. This way, it is hard for you to fail. |
Word of advice. If you would listen, invest the whole 5 million Naira on a property (Buy a House). Forget about stocks and bonds. You can never lose your money on a house in Nigeria. If you buy a house today and sell it in a week time not only will you get back your money, you will make a profit. Trust me I know what I'am talking about. Cheers ![]() |
I was chatting to some African-Americans on yahoo chat (more than 100 peeps). I asked them to name a country in Africa, none of them could name even one country except one that answered Siberia. I couldn’t believe it. This is one of the reasons why that I’ve sworn never to study in the US. |
ima1:See u ebi like say you be thief abi 419 ![]() |
Hello Ladies/Gentlemen, I’ve heard stories of Nigerian women taking most of their husband’s properties when after divorce even though it was the wives fault. Read these stories below: A Nigerian man, who was married to a Nigerian woman, went to work nights and returned from work earlier than normal because he wasn’t feeling well. When he got home and knocked, at his surprise a man opened the door. He went into there room to find his wife on their matrimonial bed with clothes and tissues on the floor, which shows they where having a time of there life. Then the man confronted his wife and an argument ensued, and he slapped his wife. His wife went crazy and called the police, the police came over and threw the man out. After the Man was thrown out, about a week later the ladies boyfriend moved in with the woman into the House that the man bought with his own sweat money before he even met the woman. When the man heard this, he called his wife and asked her what he has done wrong the woman replied that he has done nothing but she doesn’t love him anymore. The man begged her for them to get back together and work things out but the lady refused. Not long later, the Lady married her Jamaican boyfriend. Not up to a year later the filed for a divorce. According to British law when couples divorce they will have to split there properties in half which resulted to them selling the house. There are so much similar stories like this one. Because of what have happened to this man, I’ve made up my mind that before marrying a woman, she has to sign a Prenuptial Agreement stating that if the marriage doesn’t workout and we divorce I will take what all what belongs to me and she takes what belongs to her. I’ve both white friends and black friends, the white girls agreed that they would sign such an agreement as long as they love the man but most of the black girls especially Nigerian girls said they would never sign that. The reason that the black girls gave is that signing an agreement shows the man neither trust nor love them. My answer is “ I can’t tell what a woman is capble of doing in future, so to safeguard my property as well as what I’ve inherited from both my grandparents and perents my future wife has to sign if she truly loves me and not my wealth. So ladies, I want to know what you think. Will you sign a prenupitial agreement if asked by your boyfriend or will you not. Guys, will you sign a prenuptial agreement if asked by your girlfriend or will you not. My answer is that I will sign such an agreement if asked because I know that I am more than capable of making my own money. |
I don't think age matters in a relationsip as long as both of you love and respect each other. I my self I've dated a 28year old lady while I was 18 and it worked out fine, until she got married. My last girlfriend was 7 years older than me, but we broke up because she never respected me. She wanted to use me to get pregnant but I found out what her plan was. Guess what I did? I took of like Lightning Mcqueen!! |
Hello my fellow Nigerians, I'm not disputing any of these hypotheses which some of you’ve proposed. Nigerian love doing things in very complex ways without thinking of simple ways to do it first. May be this is one of the main reasons why our dear country is still in depression. I was born in Kano State Northern Nigeria, and I knew my self to posses a chocolate skin. Thinking back 1991 when there was a huge ethnic/religious riot in Kano state, my family went back to Anambra state (Idemili South LGA) for a while for things to cool down. We spent about 6months in Anambra State when I noticed that I was far lighter in complexion (my sisters noticed they where lighter also) then I was when I came from Kano State. Not only this, 2 of my sisters hair was longer and healthier than when they where in Kano. I then asked my granny and mum why this was happening and they told me that it is because of the weather. Not only does it make you lighter it stimulates hair growth, that is why Igbos has got longer hair than their Yoruba neighbours. When I was in Anambra state, I found out I sweated more which keeps my skin cool and moisturized instead of dry like when I was in Kano. This is firsthand experience guys. What do all of think? |
