Truthseeker10:For emphasis, I didn't say CHRISTIANITY IS-NOT a religion. I said alongside the other person Christianity IS A religion and MUCH MORE. don't misunderstand me the same way you misunderstood the other person. Christianity encompass religion and much more. That said, For me, Christianity as a religion is likened to the Pharisees way of upholding the jews ways. It was purely systemic and dogmatic. This is the devotion and system of faith and worship to keep Sabbath Day Holy till this day..(according to the dictionary) But Jesus along with his followers were hungry and broke the rigid "dogmatic Sabbath law". (Matt12:1- .Same accusations occurs when he heals the sick on Sabbath day.(Luke 13:14). The Sabbath was made to benefit man. This is Jesus practicing "Christianity"-as a way of life Nevertheless, Jesus advocated for upholding the Laws and commands of God even keeping the Sabbath and God's holy places holy. The same Jesus got angry (Righteous Anger-Zeal for the Lord) and physically acted out Bible for the people's-sacrilege of not-edifying the temple of God as a place of worship but as a marketing square (an act of contempt) .. (Jn 2:13-17) This was same Jesus practicing "Christianity" as a religion. the nuances within religion and it's laws need to be understood and applied properly to prevent abuse. That way one won't just be practicing solely religion but also encompass it as a way of life in our daily lives where necessary without abuse. |
Truthseeker10:"System of faith and worship" "Great devotion. Pretty much, I agree. |
Truthseeker10:I believe it's the rites and rituals alongside the commandments we practice at our various worship centres and life in general as a way we commune with God of which any deviation comes with penalty and consequences that detaches us from God. We have different Christian churches with different mode of worship. |
Joyful365:. I agree. If that 400k is the gross, it's kind of poor considering the industry at least. But it's still too early to criticize Dangote and the refinery. They are still at the nascent stage of life, like a baby. When the refinery stabilizes in 5yrs+. or probably listed on Ngx by then, we can now look at the stable revenue and fight for the staff who aren't even complaining at the moment. In DIL other companies, there hasn't been a systemic complain of poor pay package and allowances. Even if poor, they are usually more than the Nigerian average. record has shown he pays more than Nigerian standard. He pays truck drivers 3X average, at least we know as much. ![]() Why must he be compared to the IOCs pay at this inception stage? Give DR the benefit of doubt, he has earned it at least. He's buying crude with naira, less than contractual capacity is supplied, spending more to upscale the capacity to 650k or 700k barrels, still buying crude with forex from same IOCs depot overseas at much higher cost. He's still spending from his pockets. Practical learning on the job and understanding other nuances of the business. Banks and other lenders are probably waiting for default to pounce on. How many startups pay huge salaries and allowances on first 2yrs of operations? Let him scale first within 3-5yrs and stabilise with NNPCL constant supply(if possible sef). DR is just starting up. There are so many moving parts to take care of. lts survival to pay up it's debt is as important as its importance to Nigerian masses at this stage. If he has had a heart-to-heart discussion with the said staff as human relations ought to from time to time, I believe they would have keyed in to the future prospects without complain just like most other startups do. Laptop boys ![]() You call People who have been longer than you on this thread laptop boys? ![]() Even much more rich posts and comments than you and I? Some 've been on the thread alone longer than your moniker has been on the entire Nairaland. ![]() Probably, I would have answered some of your qtns, but I don't think you should ask straight forward questions demanding a willing and non-obligatory answer and use block option as a threat. Abeg Sir/Ma do as you wish. emotions are part of life. |
Truthseeker10:When I say more than a religion, it means Christianity is a religion + much more. In the context of the modern world and for simplicity, it's simply a religion. But for believers, I believe it is much more than following rules and rites. |
nosa2:Interesting concept. Almost like what Transcorp is kinda. Also like holding companies. ( I Might be wrong, just looking for closely related entities) |
emmanuelewumi:Which ever the case. They have Later this month and full November to bring forth their plans and cost implications involved. |
Shettima: He's an institution. LPG direct distribution Loading as well.... This one fit be another fight with NLNG ![]()

Lifestone:Dey play too... |
Lifestone:Kaka..even became World Best |
RodgersAkpafu:Exactly my thought. Don't we as investors see movement of their shares dealings in Multimillions and billions of naira on Ngx disclosure plus other reserved share bonuses due to KPI they merited? If ACCESS HoldCo and CBN don't see issues, then it's probably legit. I get It may rub off wrongly due to AccessBank performance. But Access Holdco performance has been expected from 2023. They hinted investors themselves when they projected their future activity until 2027. That's exactly what's playing out now. It's no surprise. I get the timing of the may look insensitive to the shareholders at present especially as their Q2 isn't out yet. But the attention is getting too much and unnecessary. 🤷 |
AngelahFlo:Totally Agree! Christianity Christ-like Christ-as a Model Christ-as a role Model Christ-as a lifestyle Christ- as ones lifestyle. Christ-As a way of life!!! |
Truthseeker10:When you imitate someone's lifestyle, he's your role model on how you live your life.. He said its more than a religion and I agree with him. In this context of role model, it becomes a way of life.. A religion involves dogmatic rites and rituals that has to be systematically followed accordingly. Like ways of worship, does and don't at specific times of the month, year, etc. A way of life is much more encompassing than a religion! |
bovali:Fine is too much for such misdeed. They were the lead issuing house, Retail Participants didn't complain of issues with purchase from the Platform. Haba! This is an overstretch and overreach. The fine should be contested and reduced from the rule book. Stanbic are not use to flouting Regulations. |
HesInMe:I don't think they have paid yet. They didn't indicate any down payment, only MOU of some sort. But if the details of the kind of acquisitions and maturity level are true, then it offers immediate prospects in no too distant future--that's impressive to me. |
yMcy56:When it comes to this tax matter, One needs to cross it before getting to the bridge Ooo ![]() |

SonofElElyonRet:He was the first to drop hint on the ₦250bn acquisition. DYOR |
crownprince2017:impressive progress. Catalyst to spur raising the buy-amount. |
Streetinvestor2:25% is max for PIT I suppose. 30% is for CGT as long as terms are met(10m gain or 150m sale value). 25% also applies instead of 30% if reinvested from NGX to Fixed income instruments. |
emmanuelewumi:Real lamentations. Association and unions start with a few and grow from there. Personal relationship with anyone is inconsequential as long as MRS is a distinct registered company. It's truck drivers are free to join or create their association. Other independent fuel stations and marketers are willing to join or not if they so choose. No one has monopoly of unionism or association either in our constitution. Afterall ASUU existed for years before CONUA came into existence 3yrs ago and FG approved of them. APC also came in to power through their factions and by mergers ![]() |
https://www.thisdaylive.com/2025/10/03/capital-market-operators-seek-review-of-proposed-30-capital-gains-tax-to-25/ Mukuru added, “The chairman recently recognised that it looks ‘unfair’ to use the purchase price at the time of acquisition as the reference cost, even if the shares were bought several years ago. “If you recognise that this is unfair, particularly for investors who bought the shares over the past 10 years, then why not offer an exemption period and start all of this on the implementation date (1 January 2026)?" |
Dum20:There has to be a year at least one might make 100-200%. That can offset some loss yrs and also years where the percent-quota wasn't met. I suppose it's doable. |
zendi:watch the video. It wasn't a church service. Just the venue used. The Holy Bible is also full of such examples just to pass down a message for easy discernment purposes to the people. It's difficult to explain what "service" entails and doesn't entail to a common Nigerian cuz its an intangible product. That was the essence. |
SonofElElyonRet:To define service to the common man through a relatable example. Like I said before, the Bible used this same example repeatedly without apology from NT to revelation to explain worship of other gods. There could as well be other examples. But when explaining sth that is intangible like Service or Godly worship to a common man, one needs to be as relatable as possible and not purely academic or spiritual. |
GeeKudi:Maybe na wrong vocab. I mean capital |
emmanuelewumi:FG are usually part of either the employers, or substantial shareholders in making critical decisions on these companies where the unions I listed are domiciled. FG are usually guilty as charged during such sabotage strikes and so FG are reluctant to usually take a hard stance and stick to it. aggrieved workers attack national assets of FG and the federation. DR is the only critical national asset where FG don't have a sovereign hold on either via substantial shareholding or operations or decision making. It's even worse for FG that they are in a FTZ. That's why this strike looked abysmal. PENGASSEN shouldn't sabotage a largely owned and operated private entity where their employer(FG) has little or no say. But they(PENGASSEN n NUPENG ) are used having their way. But they should now know better that DR is different. |
emmanuelewumi:I don't think FG will make a move. Unions will still affect critical assets if welfare demands aren't met but will most likely be on other Govt involved oil n gas businesses. PENGASSEN, NUPENG NUEE, TUC,ASUU have all held the country to ransom at one point or the other due to companies or FG failed welfarism packages to Nigeria. |
awesomeJ:OK. in context, you were creating awareness about the current worth of their depot assets. I probably must have read a little more meaning into it than necessary. especially given their delisting situation. It's all good. |
chimex38:Almost like solution was foretold . Join other DIL group and unionize..QED |
awesomeJ:Like I wrote above, maybe I should ve used assumed. |
