Log5=0.6989(from tables) -9Log5= -9 X 0.6989= -6.2907....QED |

Considering the recent happenings in the world of today, taking the current situations in Nigeria(boko haram menace) n Africa(Ebola Epidemic) as a point of contact, would u consider the Nigerian Military personnels especially those at the warfront who come face to face with Death evry day of their life as a more Dangerous situation such as those combating the Boko haram insurgents or Doctors who face Epidemic outbreak of Diseases such as those combating the Dreaded Ebola virus?....
In my own perspective, i believe its the Doctors on epidemic emergencies as they have little or nothing to protect themselves apart from being sterilized n bein well kitted which aint enough as they still have to go close n even come incontact to the infected patient for treatment. Moreover, these diseases mode of transmission are airborne, so no amount of "clothedness" can prevent dis,while some are without CURE! Imagine oneself purposefully exposing urself to something one may not recover from if entangled..such is the case with our Doctors on Epidemic outbreaks In the case of Our dearly beloved soldiers at the war front who may have signed their death warrant before embarking on this also dangerous adventure, they are always armed, inaddition, they operate in groups, lookin out for oneanother in the process...this reduces the supposedly 'perceived danger' to them as they dont seem entirely defenceless like the Doctors(except if excessively outnumbered) But being a Doctor especially wen it comes to epidemic emergency cases is a more selfless n risk prone venture than a war front soldier.... May God accept the Soul of the top Sierraleone Doctor who contacted the Dreaded Ebola Virus while carrying out a selfless service...May Your Soul Rest in Peace.....AMEN. |

There are many others such as dancing,singing, etc.its just for them to emulate evryday activity of all cultures. Although it aint enough for total unity by Nigeria, but i believe its a huge stepping stone. Concerned Nigerians like me need to feel that we're remembered in everyday of your life by displaying our rich cultural heritage rather than only during a presidential visit- i feel like you would be in a hurry to get done with the visit so you could pull off and return to your normal ijaw outfit which to me, its disappointing and i cant help feeling disappointed rather than excited. If the above is realy followed and inscribed in the Nigerian constitution & practised, i assure you that i and numerous Nigerians will turn a newer lead and willing to emulate, tolerate & embrace other ethnicity . Help oneanother in their deficiencies rather than mockery and thus promoting our general slogan of Unity.. I believe there are no greater reform for unity and togetherness than this and-ONE NIGERIA will one day be realised.... CHIMEX388- A concerned Nigerian |

Since all the advert and advocacy for Nigerians to see one of themselves as brothers & sisters have failed. We could do the following as a stepping stone.
Constitutional Inclusion or Amendment The legislature should see to it that cultural and traditional conditions are required in addition to western qualifications(degrees) for any elective or highly appointed positions for all aspirants..they are
Languages it should be a prerequisite for all aspirants to know the 3 major languages at least at communication level..this law if effected, will drive evry aspirants back to d classroom or mingle well with locals and in the long run, ordinary Nigerians like me and you will be doing same. You can imagine if GEJ goes to Borno state and communicates to the masses in Hausa language(at least the much he can monster). What a carrier breaking process that will occur in the conscience of our masses and if not entirely, a reasonable % of acceptance will automatically evolve from the locals & they will at least see seasons to b tolerant of any Ijaw man in their midst and if this is emulated by Sambo in Igbo & Yoruba & David Mark likewise, this can transcend to the entire country, cutting down ethnic differences, segregation & discrimination...in this way, our leaders have come to us in unity.
ATTIRE This is a backup to language. I believe that a NIGERIAN President or a NIGERIAN vice-President or a NIGERIAN senate president and others elected or appointed in the name of NIGERIA should not dress with the native attire of the visiting state only on that day.. It should be replicated every day of ur life as president or otherwise..even if you dont speak my language accurately, seeing yout wear my native attire aside when u visit me will gladen my heart & prick my conscience at the same time to accept tribes and ethnicity whole hearthedly. Since GEJ is at the helm of affairs, hes unfortunately my reference point but not limited to him GEJ could have a FEC meeting this week, dressed in an "agbada". The next week, hes dressed in an idoma wear, the upper week, hes dressed in an Igbo attire. I would like all these regional dresses by our presidents and subordinates to stop for the purpose of identifying you as an ijaw man or a yoruba man for OBJ. Sparingly wearing other tribal outfit doesnt take ur identity from you, especially considering your status-quo in the country. In this life, it is little, little things like this that do count. If he wisht Lagos or Osun state, he musn't even dress like a Yoruba man as the "achaic" trend have it. All these are part of political jamboree or propaganda. He could even wear an hausa attire. This will give the minority northerners in the Yoruba state, a sense of belonging. His next visit in the state could be in an Igbo attire or others..this can b randomized and in that way, you've captured the heart of Nigeria into believing in a unified Nigeria as we have a united state of america. He could dress in other cultural heritage like the edo, fulani, efik, tiv,etc..to ice the cake but the top 3 Nigerian cultures should be a pre-requisite for him and at random; i reinterate again, not limited to only presidential or other visits to the states. *Not done writing* |

Little things cherished & Appreciated by Nigerians to Nigerians of all tribes/ethnicity are often overlooked. But will go a longway for a strong & unified Nigeria which i believe will remain unbroken & stand d test of time...
permit me to elaborate on my premises dat necessitated my conclusion. As a bonafide and patrotic citizen of Nigeria, supporting and propagating wherever i find myself for a unified Nigeria, a Nigeria which will one day live in oneness, i have been pondering on possible & pragmatic solutions which can yield to the attainment of that cause & still retain our diversity because as an Igboman, i love & take pride in ma tradition & culture dan others & without prejudice, Yorubas and Hausas take pride in diers too, likewise our other diversified ethnic groups which is understandable. In line with the above, unless someone exceptional(evrytin has exceptions), it would b very difficult to accept or blend into other cultural background with ease and b neutral about it without some kind of discriminination for some practices, which we try to defend logically to no avail, when d hidden truth is that we've been blinded by the fact dat we've gone a long way in cherishin ours so deeply that it becomes difficult to uproot and come to terms with things on a neutral level.. Only few Nigerians can bring themselves out of these & remain fair & if this barrier isnt broken, i'm worried dat my perceived oneness shall never come to be because to an extent, i'm kain of guilty(a bit) & so are about 95% of our population, if not more.. Some may argue that they do welcome all diversity, but the question is, if true, whats the ratio to others? We keep on enlightenin Nigerians on the need to shun discrimination based on ethnicity..but how?
Well, since i know am partially involved, i tried to take a cue from other countries, sharing similar fate with Nigeria but managed to surpass this tribal issue dats keepin us backlogged... The best example i believe with an extreme of diverse languages & tribe and and now unified as one of the most successful is the U.S.A. Yes the Americans are a tru replica of Nigeria,perhaps long ago..But dont be faster dan my writeup, i dont suggest we follow their ways.. You may b surprised by the statistics below: For those who dont know & to remind those who do, The United States of America is a combination (or in Lord Lugards terms); an amalgamation of the different regions or states existing in exclusive isolation(u can imagine d initial diversity) and coming together under one united state-THE U.S.A. Why we are clamouring for disintegration, the U.S.A when formed, existed initially as 48states.. More recently, In 1959 at two different times, Alaska & Hawaii were included as member states.. These two are d furthest from the rest with Hawaii almost half d distance to Asia..yet here in Nigeria, as landlocked as we are, we're deliberating disintegration.. This is absurd! You may wonder, why all these history? Yes, its worth taking note of..The U.S is made up of 50states and some territories of which about only 28 of those states have English as their official language.. Surprised aint u? The rest have Hawaii, samoan,spanish,chamorro as official languages up till 2day. It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multi cultural nations not to add to the influx of immigrants. Yet, it is a developed country. How far Nigeria? But am not delving into economy, its their unity that is astonishing even extending to a black-race at the helm of their affairs!..talking about level of brotherhood.. Hawaii in particular with its distance as a major barrier, they've overcomed this huge geographical isolated..thanks to the other provinces & to them for accepting, tolerating & being their for oneanother others and moving along...In asmuchas they retain their language as the Major official language(hawaii) which is understandably part of dier identity, they nevertheless added English as close second as over 95% of them communicate in English, although the hawaiian language is gettin extinct, which isnt what i want in my country Nigeria as i love my language & i guess we all do too to our respectives..But the lesson here is the language & cultural acceptance of the English people in their life(although i dont succum to the fact that it should displace theirs) has made it easy for them to live in harmony and tolerate oneanother. See their deficiencies, and rather than make mockery of such as prevalent in Nigeria, dey correct & laugh over it as brethen..
It is evident from the above that the Americans and its member states brought togetherness & harmony to themselves & we here in Nigeria have been preaching this to ourselves to no avail...but i believe there is another way out. My view is that if Nigerians cant bring harmony to themselves Nigerians,then, our leaders shld bring it to us, indirectly or directly if possible & it should be constitutionalized. What am i sayin? below |
