Before i digress like lagosismyhome I want to give a BIG Shout out to the Creator of Heaven and Earth God Almighty who approved my visa today by his grace and favour he place on me. Thank you so much Baba God becos it has always been YOU!

I also want to thank my friend Chidozie (Chiezhh) who gave me all the information about ETSU and the application process, he also introduce me the these great thread.. May God bless you Bro. I also want to Mr Teejay A.k.a(Teedawg) who helped me with mock and also review my transcript day and night to ensure i have the best responses to the vo's questions Boss i salute you sir! I also want to thank my one and only Padi Labanson though his not on these thread. Every now then he always interview me like a VO, he twist the questions on my transcript here and there and do all sort of thing like the Vo's normally does, all this is to get me well prepared for the interview.. My interview was for 6:30am, i arrived at the embassy at 5:30am, i was interview by that slim beautiful lady they normally talk about here, she did my Bio-metric and also interview me. from the moment i step in the embassy i started smiling to everyone including her not knowing she will be the one to interview me but i actually didn"t want her to interview me because of what have heard so far about her, that she normally drain people with questions. I was the 3rd person she interview, the first guy she interviewed was denied and then the second person was one of those sister's from catholic church, she almost denied her but she was able to explain her self well and she was approved and then Meeeeee

My Transcript goes this way...


VO: What are you going to study in the Us

Me: Am going to ETSU to pursue a bachelor degree in Business administration and Management for the period of 48 months which i will taking courses in.. she cuts in Okay..okay and started typing

Me: 2 schools, ESTU and Montana state University

Me: i became confuse and said one rubbish thing about marketing which i can't remember and later continue with that is not my choice of course But ETSU offered me Business Management which is what i wanted. i guess she was not satisfy with that but she just let that go (that was favour)

ME: No, i made an inquiry from the school about proficiency exam and it was waived because our official language in Nigeria is English

Me: After my high school in 2009, i did a 2 years course in event planing and after that i got my diploma in hotel management in 2014 and in 2015 i did one year IT at Southersun Ikoyi Hotel. i wanted to link up what i do at work to that answer but i noticed she started typing again so i kept quiet

Vo: What do you do at your place of work

Me: I work as an assistant event coordinator, my job is to meet with guest and take reservation for functions and also discuss the kind of set they want for their event such as Banquet setup, theater set up and class room set up. I always speak very fast while am talking so she ask me to repeat again what i do at work which i did.

VO: what will you do with these degree

Me: this degree will help me achieve my dream goal of becoming a Manager in a standard hotel and also set up my own business as an enterprenural after completing my Bsc and Masters

VO: Have you traveled out before

Me: No ma'am

VO: Do you have any friend in the Us or any family

Me: Yes, but i was so scared because i applied for visiting in 2008 which i was denied but i didn't apply again since then, so i was thinking she as seen something fishy in my old DS form cos i was invited by a friend then.

Me: i went blank, i couldn't remember what my dad does, i was lost for words for like 35 seconds, she was just looking at me to say something, me i was just struggling to say but i couldn't, she noticed that and she said don"t worry take your time, settle down but yet i couldn't say a word, i was just smiling shaking my head, after some seconds she moved her head closer to the window glass and said relax, take your time we are just having a conversation with an elegant smile on her face while she was saying that.. before you know it i just pick up like motor wey dem dey push

Me: My Dad is into real estate business and he also import ties from Spain (although i starmara a little bit)

VO: I will be approving your visa, pick it up in 3 days time, she pick up the white paper and circle a place there, gave it to me with my i20 and said i should keep my i20 safe as will be required at the Port entry. Na so i collect my visa ooo No singles document was asked.


My transcript seems long here but it"s actually less than 4 mins with Vo because she speaks very fast and i also respond very fast as well.

Visa Approved this mornig 6:30am batch... All thanks to God Almighty for his Grace and Favour..

at last my VISA was approved yesterday morning and my interview was scheduled for 8;15 am

i was first denied on the 22nd of june 2017 , i applied to full sail university for master's in game design . i just had to sum of courage and i reapplied , it was GOD's favor all the way and my VISA was approved by a young white woman in her thirties i suppose at window 5 .

I got to the embassy around 5:30 am. Skipping to the checking point. My name was note found on the book for scheduled interview. I was asked to go sit down(20-30 minute thereabout) , for my mind, I said I am done today. Yet I fight it back in my spirit. I was later called up that my name dey system, so I was cleared to go. Got to the judgement room for screening and biometric. Submit docs for screening, then hurried to the rest room to do the usual and pray once more because I already met and seen people wey dey frown face with blue paper. For inside toilet, I dey hear my name, lagbaja come to window 14, I sit down for rest room dey do d tin dey go. Finally I came out after 5min. The whole room put eye on me, na u dem dey call since. I hurried to 14, she then ask me to bring my doc. Is this how to fill a form, na wetin she ask, she then ask me some questions I replied and she typed. I knew say na my ds160 she was referring to. I forgot biometric, I was later called out of line by the Cgi to go out of line to go do biometric. I return. Now to window 4. She's in her 30s I suppose.

All praises and thanks be to Allah Visa approved this morning at windows 1 by the young bespectacled female VO. The interview lasted for less than a minute and I was only asked three questions

The crowd was mammoth and blue papers were mostly dished out. Although I think the process was fair and those that were denied were given time to make their case. I am not accusing anyone, but those that are delayed don't seem to post the full transcript. Denial interviews usually last longer than I read here.

On to my interview, the VO approved the two visiting visa to two middle aged men before and I have to say their response made sense. Pronto it was my turn and the following ensued ;
VO: Good Morning
Time2smile :Good morning ma'am, how are you doing? (She didn't reply me)
VO; Pass me your documents. ( I complied while she scanned my passport and studied my I 20)
VO: You are going for a PhD, what research would you be working on?
Time2smile: I would be working on Neurodegenration research. The department has an ongoing collaboration with the School of Behavioral and Brain Science on the molecular mechanism underlying neuro degenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases. (She wasn't looking at me but was typing and nodding so I continued) We would be using various molecular biology tools such as Real PCR, Next generation DNA sequencing, Micro array analysis to look for genes expressed in Alzheimer's disease but not in healthy individuals (I actually said all this but not as smoothly as it reads, by now I had her full attention).
VO: Good, why did you choose University of Texas?
Time2smile: Actually one of the the reasons is because of the research interest. Also, the university has high diversity with high number of international students and has great support for international students and........ hmm there is another reason(actually forgot and was thinking) ..... yes I was given funding.
VO: You funding is it through a scholarship or fellowship
Time2smile; I am awarded a graduate tuition scholarship that covers my tuition, I would also work as a graduate teaching assistant. I would be assisting to teach courses, invigilate exams, conduct tutorials and hold office hours.

I was so hungry I almost passed out and it's been a stressful two days for me because of the flood, I have not had any decent sleep for two days.
I was interviewed by the chubby white lady in her 50's, the lady did not smile at all, not even for a second. She denied the two guys before me and she approved one guy before them. The guy she approved, they where busy cracking jokes and she was all smiles (The Guy fine Sha). After that it was frowning all the day. Fear catch me for real, coupled with the hunger and the sleep that was on my case I felt like I lost my voice. Fast forward to my turn.
