Sanctus1: good morning house oooh...everything is set for the interview..please telling the VO that I applied to only one school, hope that won't be a problem? They will see you as a lazy and unserious student.. hence you have to explain more why you picked that particular school out of all the schools in the US.. Best of luck! |

Yes, the account statment was stamped and dated by the bank. And yes he as called the school and email the office of admission, here is the response he got..

folmus: It's very simple. This time around, the documents: his dad's bank statement stamped, signed and dated by the bank to be sent directly by the bank not you sending it to the school. The previous Account statement was dated and stamp by the bank with reference letter. So what should we do now? Should he ask his Dad to print another statement of account from his other bank and request the bank to send it directly to the school Or his Dad should still reprint the previous one and ask the bank to send it to the school directly? Please kindly advice. Thanks! |

Hello Great people of NL.. please i need help for my cousin. He as been granted admission and his on the stage of i20. He submitted his Dad's bank statement with reference letter from the bank but the school emailed him yesterday saying they need a CERTIFIED financial documentation from the bank sent directly to the school before they can issue his i20. We are all confuse about these because reference letter from the bank was also attached to the statement. Please if you have an idea of what that document is all about please kindly help out. LagosismyHome: Thanks ..sharp eyes . Post amended
Multiply the new points given above by the course unit as usual (i.e. a 4-unit course you got a b in would now be b+ on the US scale = 3.33*4 = 13.32 grade points, a 3-unit course you made a c in would now be b on the US scale = 3.0 * 3 = 9 grade points, etc.). Then sum up the total grade points for all semesters from first year to final year and divide by the total number of units from first year to final year. @ Bold laughhh thanks for throwing more light on that.. |

LagosismyHome: 3.06 is sounds more accurate
Source : bigfrancis
Our A = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D= 2, E = 1 and F =0 on the Nigerian scale and those points are used in our cgpa calculation. To get the 4-point US scale, use their grade point system as follows:
A = 4.0 B(equivalent to their B+) = 3.5, C(equivalent to their B) = 3.0, D(equivalent to their C+) = 2.5, E(equivalent to their C) = 2.0, F = 0 as usual.
Replace our grade points for each grade on your transcript with the US grrade points given above and recalculate your CGPA normally as you already know how to do, you will get your 4-point US equivalent.
Notice that there are no D and E on the US grading scale and all our Ds and Es are converted to higher-point C+ and C of 2.5 and 2.0 respectively, thus adding more points to your total grade points and boosting your final cgpa by a few points. This explains why WES translation is more favorable to Nigerian applicants than other conversion agencies Waooo.. this is really outstanding, great info. But one more thing, after adding up those numbers.. what do you divide with to get your total CGPA ?? |

I'm currently following this site daily to know more about traveling experience, I have chosen to study Economics in the California state University east bay and my I 20 and admission Packages were available but my question goes does... Since my school is resuming on the 20th September and yet the agent doing the documents for me his yet to fill Ds-160 not to talk of booking appointment with the embassy. Please highlight and enlighten me more cause I'm confused as he keeps saying make I chill. Take my advice..defer your admission to spring and start the processing again by your self.. you are lucky the Agent guy haven't fill your Ds-160 form other wise you will have inacurate information on your Ds-160. If you don't believe, then continue with the Agent.. Goodluck! |

Where can someone with an American passport be denied entry? Iran? Yeah you're free to go there if you want. Laughhh .. don't ever think you know all because you DON'T my white female friend, an American citizen who lives in Augusta Georgia was denied Nigerian visa the first time she applied for visiting and she cried because of Nigerian visa though she was coming for business but fortunately she was granted the second time. so don't be too sure of your self dude and incase you don't know American citizens also get visa denial. |

imperiouxx: Says a bloody opportunist Don't tell me US government came to beg you in Nigeria to come to live in US. Nonsense.
I don't need any mind reading skills, it's common sense. He's still in school and hasn't done opt yet. If H1B is suspended for reform purpose, were you told H1B is totally cancelled? Unless you have serious comprehension issues, I don't see where saying finding his way means asking him to do dubious things. If his dad's filing will take a long time and as a student who is already in the US, there is possibility for him to get a job and one that can file for him.... this is my point.
Don't be disappointed. I don't need H1B because I'm currently fulfilling my purpose of coming to US which is to study.
I don't see where I said this but out of your egocentric ITK mind, you insinuated marriage as one of the ways of getting stay and I answered you.
The problem with you is that you think you can just hop in here any time and start trampling on everyone and shoving your opinions down every throat. Since you've jumped into this thread, you haven't contributed positively to anyone, instead you continue to harass the new comers and simultaneously disrespecting yourself. This thread is for students only, not for egocentric and myopic people who think they can only come here to boast of their sorry lives. If all you've learned since the years you said you've been living in US haven't influenced your behavior positively.... you must have had a really bad experience in the past. You need to learn to be of moral standard to the new ones. Boss imperiouxx, You have said it all at bold and you are much more educated and bigger than that infant, you don't need to bring your self down to his level. there are so many ways to know if one is educated even without seeing that person. their style of communication alone and the way they present them selves in public/forum will tell you how educated or expose that person is. it's not all about living in america with whatever status as they claim but being able to speak knowledge any time they open their mouth is what really matters. so Boss, don't bring your self too low to his level. we all know the noise makers on these thread and those who come here to waste their time quoting everyone with trash. |

tipssy1: My appointment was for 8:30 appointment I was in a happy mood all through, I got their around 7:45 and I was happy inside me because I could feel it am leaving here with my visa despite HV had several attempts one thing I always have in mind denial is not a failure but rather a way to restrategise and learn from your misatke. Vo: she kept on typing and brought out a white paper and picked up her pen she was just looking down the white paper to circle the pick up location ( na so she pause for over 8 seconds ) and drop the pen then wipe every good thing she has written And told me that she is sorry that she is sorry I should re-apply. this is the closest I have ever had and it lost right away IN a nanosecond, immediately I saw that white at first I was thanking God for perfecting everything already and feel so happy. Right now I feel bad I did the needful red, prayed, fasted and gave needy money so that God favour can fall upon me too Bro, i really understand how this feels like, i know it's so..so painful and i really feel for you but however, only God knows why the vo change her mind and why it happened that way. just clean your self up and pretend like nothing happened, May God grant you favour in your next interview..Amen |

Bandeco: .The bolded is a big laugh. How is a believe in god an innate desire.? If not for parent and society brainwashing, no-one will give a fccckkk about God. We were all born without knowing any damn religion. Ever wonder most people( if not all) assumes the religion of their parents and/or the religion prevalent in their geography of origin.
God is man-made IMHO. I am sure God(s) - if it/they exist does not care a hoot about human welfare on planet earth. At bold.. Humm are you for real? mennn una don plenty for this thread ooo. Even the so called Americans believe in God. they always mention God in everything they do, check their motor, currency and also listen to what a public officer holder always say after given a speech, which is to say they know and believe that God exist even in their sins. So i see no reason why some Nigerians will go to America and start having that mindset that God don't exist. well it's your choice to believe whatever you want but please don't come here and say that rubbish @ bold. personally i have not been to church for the last 3yrs here in nigeria but i strongly believe there is God and he exist. anytime i pray or fast, i always get result but mind you am not a saint. |

BigBUMBUM: is this place only about visa related issues and solutions only? i got my visa long b4 coming here and to be honest i cant remember the scenario sef i can give back other means and not neccessary sharing of transcript No offence At the bold story for the gods.. if everyone keep holding back whatever info they have, am very sure you won't be able to find this thread because it would have being dead and forgotten long ago. Meanwhile, sharing of transcript after visa approval is the primary way of giving back to the thread becos alot of people benefit from that more than you can ever imagine. so any other way of giving back is secondary such as sharing important info, answering questions on the thread, conducting mock interview..etc which is also welcome. so my dear sister, i believe now you understand why we always hammer on transcript. stay bless! |

I know denial can be very painful but at bold, it does work but in your case God has a reason for allowing that to happen. Yours answers are okay but here are the 2 things i spot on in your transcript.. i feel the community college tins was where the Vo started raising eye brown And secondly your response to any test taken. Vo: did you take any test? Me: No as none was required by the school but I have an IETLS with a band score of 8.0 (for me, i feel you would have just skip the bolded and say Yes i did IELTS and i scored 8.0) that will have been more okay because not every Vo will accept No is not required by the school because they might feel that individual is not a serious student.
