2- 3bags of feed will definitely not be enough for 10weeks. Even if you're rearing cockerels let alone broilers. You should be talking of 10-15bags for that period of time. I guess you want to venture into broiler production

Your birds might be suffering from coccidiosis. Observe the faeces whether you would find blood. Endeavour to change your litter if it is wet/dirty. Buy coccidiostat from a reliable vet store.

well, I wouldn't want to insult you because I know that you are ignorant about the field of agriculture generally. It is because we are still practising agriculture the way our forefathers practiced in the aforementioned centuries, we are where we are today in Nigeria and Africa at large. Kudos to the university management and the students! I can see the students doing the work with zeal and enthusiasm. Agriculture should be 60% practical and 40% theory in our various institutions of learning. I'm proud to be an agriculturist!

If egg is 600 naira per crate , that would be #72000 daily ( income)

Expense is 16bags × # 3500 = 52000

When you factor in other miscellaneous, the profit margin is not impressive

hmmmmm.... Boss, this your analysis is quite different from what is happening on the farm ooooooo.... 3600 birds can't give you 120crates per day. Once your HDP is 80-90%, then you're doing well... Your 3600 can not lay eggs at the same time. Therefore, your production will definitely fluctuate.

He also said that he spent 108k on a " middleman" which ordinarily, he would have been connected for free if he had understudied 1-2 established farms. I really give kudos to the boss for his boldness. But you, I don't think you know anything about poultry business. I rest my case.

My friend started with 400k for broilers and his ROI is mind boggling that I've sworn to join in that biz.

what some of us failed to understand is that, this man spent some cash on what he shouldn't have spent on. For instance, debeaking, vaccination, etc because he paid those who did all that for him which ordinarily, he ought to have carried out himself if only he has the skills. If he had raised the birds from DOC, I bet, he would have saved more money.

As an animal scientist and someone with experience in poultry production, I would advise you monitor your production very well to avoid stories that touch(your workers I mean). You should also look into feed formulation too as others have suggested because that's the "heartbeat" of production.

I guess there is no harm in reading the "selection preference" before one apply for any opening. So because there was no selection preference last year now means there won't be this year? We shouldn't always argue without facts!
