True talk! Reading some comments here just makes me laugh. Graduates complaining of no data, no good phone, no laptop and so on. Many of them also saying no money to learn skills. It's really shocking. Any graduate complaining of all these things is not worthy of that certificate he/she is parading 'upandan'!

I wonder oooo.... Saying rail transportation isn't effective is shocking and laughable. Many Nigerians are just looking for flimsy excuses to nail Buhari. I'm not too comfortable with his style of leadership though but I can't hide the fact that the guy is trying his bit.

How about labour cost.

Iabour is expensive in the United states, labour is cheaper here in Nigeria. A country where labour is expensive, expect higher pay to meet up with the high cost of goods and services.

500 naira will get you an healthy and organic meal here in Nigeria, will 10 dollars get you an healthy meal in the United states

Thank you jhor! When he said #500 cannot get someone a healthy meal, I was shocked. I don't understand what some people call healthy meal. With 500naira, I can still eat rice, vegetable and fish or meat. I can still eat beans, plantain, fish and bread, I can still buy fruits of various types in the market if we to be truthful to ourselves. So in Nigeria, you can still eat a healthy meal with 500naira. It's just for you to be able to combine food ingredients in the right proportion.

It will make more sense if you indicate the aspect of agricultural production you're into. Crop or animal production or both?

I don't even drag remote with my wife again. Since I usually have enough data, nah to enter YouTube watch anything I wan watch be it channels news, journalists hangout, etc. No time and energy to fight for remote.

During my undergraduate days, whenever there's any break or ASUU strike like this, fiam! I don run go Lagos go do sharp hotel job. salary nah like 15k but within 2weeks I don make money wey pass my salary self. Graduates should put on the cloth of humility and do some jobs that may be demeaning. It's just but for a moment!

To be candid, I get confused when I read stories like this because the university I graduated from never told us then in school, that it'll be easy after graduation. Our lecturers kept on admonishing us that there is no job in the country. Therefore, you have to think outside the box. The beauty of the whole thing is that, you live in Lagos. Where there are many security companies, hotels to work as a waiter and many schools that you can apply to. Haba bro! wetin be your gain when you allow depression take over your life. Those jobs are just for you to keep body and soul together until you find a better offer. You being a graduate doesn't make you go to the ATM to withdraw free cash now. Hustle as if you didn't go to school. Education is meant for you to broaden your knowledge base and proffer solutions to life issues and you being jobless is one of the life issues you have to proffer solutions to.

Abeg tell am where him go here oooo brother... You've been teaching for the past 5 years and you no get car, no side business, No good accommodation, no be say you further your education.... That means there is a problem ooooo.... Some teachers are even doing better than some government workers. I could remember in my former compound, one federal worker called me one day and said " you wey be private school teacher, you just marry, you dey do master's program and you get business.. How you take dey do am? Nah so I laugh say everything nah planning oooooo.... The following year nah im the guy go marry.

Lolz see yabbing for teachers ..... not that bad ,, a friend of mine teaches and he’s on 53k salary . That's what many people do not understand oooo.... It's just that many teachers are suffering. I'm not suffering as a teacher by God's grace but I'll definitely quit the job very soon when my business can feed the family.

Students must not fail. All students must not score below average because their parents are paying exorbitant school fees and so on..... It is well!

I don't think you should quit the teaching job outrightly because you've not even established the business yet. Since you're still seeking knowledge about it, I'll advice you to know almost everything that is needed to be known about the business and even start before quitting your teaching job. I'm also a teacher in a private school and I've been able to establish a laundry business for myself and grocery store for my wife. The reason I've not quit yet is that, I have access to loan twice a year from our cooperative society (#500,000 yearly). By the time our businesses can feed the family well, I'll bid farewell to private school teaching.

I think the ideal thing is to provide an email where applicants can forward their CV(s).

Dont abandon it. Your whole effort will be a waste. I always believe in going through to the very end in projects like this since, resources, time and effort has been committed.
Just get through with and get a two-prong approach- biz and then job( if a good one comes). Having a master does not automatically qualify you for an instant upliftment, though i have seen countless folks whose tide changed when dey got their masters.

I intend following it up to phd level not because of job or lecturing stuff but for my personal satisfaction (i told myself that before i even gained admission for my first degree)

Good day to everyone. I need advice from people who might have experienced this.
I'm doing master's program in one of the Federal Universities in the country and right now I feel dissatisfied with the program. I have CGPA of 3.81 after first and second semesters so it is not an issue of poor academic performance. I teach in a private school with a meagre salary but manageable to cater for my nuclear family's needs but the question that is always in my mind is: what next after MSc? Truth be told, doing MSc in Nigeria is actually not worth it to some extent. I'm planning to divert my remaining energy and my meagre resources to business. I mean business that can produce 1k/per day to complement my salary. Is it appropriate to abandon the program now?

That's serious then. I was even thinking of sending my application via NIPOST this week but the whole thing is not encouraging at present with the info I'm getting.
