http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=321752&CategoryID=40067 Thanks, but that doesn't look club-friendly. More like church-friendly. I would expect a shorter, tight-fitting dress. But then, na una sabi Yea, I dress casual to church, jeans and everything. It's too cold to be stressing myself. |

beejaei: Its funny how 9ja babes like chiogo can easily get on the defensive and play the feminist card whenever they see a topic like this. If you think a little deeply about the course the thread has thread (no pun intended), you will see that the title is misleading, and the crux of the matter is a dearth, in my area, of girls like back home. Except this time, I will appreciate a little perspective and insight into issues along with the nigerianness and attractiveness. I know normally a girl does not have to be attractive to be a person's friend, but I must pay due cognizance to my own reality as I consider this issue. And my reality is that being shy person, i come out of my shell for guys who have similar tastes to me like love for soccer, a little perspective and insight into serious issues, a good vision for a good life and a good career etc. Since very few girls like soccer, or discuss serious issues -without letting them degenerate into gossips and carping-I will usually overcome my shyness for an attractive girl, with a tinge of "localness" and a a little perspective and insight into serious issues.
I have mentioned "a little perspective and insight into serious issues" 3 times. That should tell someone that is as much a priority as physical beauty. Feminist card? Seriously, beejaei?? Did I write the topic title for you? When you make a thread with such a condescending title, I really don't know what you want me to tell you. But okay, let's just go with your new notion that the title doesn't accurately portray your original intent. I think many people have already given you the advice you might be looking for. Like you said, you're shy so that's not a plus for you in terms of trying to meet intelligent and beautiful girls in general, not just Nigerian ones. Maryland, as I heard is filled with Nigerians so maybe you need to look harder. You didn't say if you're an undergraduate or not. But if you are, joining those African student organizations might help you meet people who match your description. |

beejaei: LOL @ chiogo
@chiogo
You are silly if you think I will try to defend myself intellectuality-wise to you. And has for the shyness, lets just say "Its a work in progress." I am slowly getting over it. Thanks for the compliment, but then, I am not sure I really need them-I know my place. Compliment ke? I'm just telling the truth!! Ah, good good, no need proving your intellectuality just like naija girls don't have to prove theirs. Keep working on that shyness ehn, before you know it you'll be bold enough to address your comments on this thread to the 'worwor and olodo' naija girls in your school. Wish you the best! |

beejaei: @ OLD-MAMA-YOUNGIES like chiogo, michellin etc
I reiterated ceaselessly yesterday that I am not Will Smith or Denzel Washington and I am not ashamed of myself. Please if you do not have meaningful contributions to make like Princek12, SEFAGO and fifi09, carry your lame backside off my thread. I have no patience for nairaland demi-gods who believe they can dictate to me what I look like, what I can say and the judgement I can pass on my surroundings. Lets just say "A new sheriff is in town."
And pray tell, why are all these feminists emphasizing the beauty part while conveniently ignoring the brains part. I guess is because you have conceded that the average 9ja babe like you has nothing in between her ears. In all my posts, I have praised your looks, so what are you talking about? Oh well, I guess you don't have much going on intellectually yourself. Oh you're shy? But you get mouth on the internet? Oh bummer! and I took you seriously! |

SEFAGO: Difficult to gauge. My parents where really strict, I lived in VI/VGC all my life, attended schools with the kids of nigerian-looters , but I did not have everything they had. My parents were only interested in paying for anything that would do with our education and saw stuff like toys/cable as useless
Sincerely, I really dont like American rap/hip hop- so I am clueless. The only reason I know Wale was because of Amy Winehouse Valerie Ah, interesting. Makes sense though. But that's a tough life even for an ajepako like me . . . . |
